Whether it is more enjoyable is another thing. I mean, Monster is not for everyone Same for Texhnolyze and Serial Experiments Lain. It has flaws, like a silly premise and overused shock factor, but I liked the characterization, the ost is grandious and it is a rather fine show for newbies. I don't think Monster was longer than it needed to be. All of the episodes felt like they served a purpose to the overall plot. Isn't that the case with aot? In the manga it takes forever to answer stuff, and worse, more and more deus ex machinas are used to explain stuff. Anyway, I'll stop with my ranting of aot now As for Monster, I cannot judge the manga as said, but in the anime the pacing was still fairly slow. Slow pacing is not bad however, and as such the development of tenma and his reactions to what he discovers are far more insightful and relatable. The whole 'who is the real monster theme' is explored across the whole series, which gives it consistency.
