No way. I'm pretty sure they'd sound awful. MIDIs (sequenced virtual instruments) are just completely different from mp3s (actual audio recordings). Blazer only used MIDIs, not mp3s converted into MIDIs (I'm not even sure that's doable at all, and if it is, the results would be awful, seriously). He used WAVs for voice acting, but inserting WAVs is a little complicated. imo you should ask people to bring you a MIDI for their theme, if it's not too much of a pain in the ass... there are plenty of them in sites like VGmusic.com anyway.
