One thing that I never really liked is that Ostia is allegedly the strongest fortress city ever-and then it gets penetrated in about 10 seconds when Nergal attacks it. Scrubs and dragons, what a beautiful-sounding relationship! These lines, taken together... Fools? That's a new one... But wait, I thought it was supposed to be the other way around? Annnnnd we're interrupted. YES HECTOR! ON IT! I WILL MAKE THE BEST PLAN EVER, AND TOTALLY WON'T HAVE TO RESET 10000 TIMES! Okay, it's lategame defense mission time! Seriously, lategame defense missions make everything better. I'm always disappointed if a hack or main FE game doesn't have a lategame defense mission. Even more units than FoD! Lowen is not coming this chapter, and he never will again. I'm dropping him. Sorry guys. Lyn gets the Basilikos. And Vaida gets all my light legendaries, because she can actually use them! Glitch's glitch items remaing with us, even though I don't want them to. We'll have to keep them as permanent reminders of Glitch's existence. Note: The reason Rath is in both pictures is because I switched him for Canas Okay, here's the setup. Hopefully the bottom group can keep themselves alive until the top group can rendevous. Klok arranged the enemy in very careful star formations that will immediately disintegrate into chaos the instant the chapter starts... Wait a minute... Denning's here. Do NOT underestimate that Reinfleche. He is insanely powerful, and he also carries the fourth stimulant if you can find a chance to grab it. Not holding a vote, there's only one unit that even really can use it at this point. A few droppables around. I think Klok just means to troll you with that iron bow. Money around, if you need it, and we don't. Why is this even here And yes, every unit is labeled "elf". The description isn't changed, but it's a hilarious touch. This is pretty much the last Extra!, unless there's one in Chapter 32 that I've forgotten about. He isn't that tough, re-using the swordsmaster would have been more threatening. Yes yes Denning, WE KNOW! The greenies won't listen. No no let him help we need him! The ostia's are level 20, don't have legendaries, and there isn't anything special about them. The enemy stats have inflated so much that their stats are quite simply unworkable. They drop like flies in any and every combat engagement, seriously. They do, however, have very varied inventories. Next time, we defend the castle while the enemy tries to take it from us! Also, we will be using a SPECIAL TACTIC. See if you can guess what it is! I just remembered, you should make the glitch weapons actually usable by Glitch :D By which I mean make a weapon that looks identical to the glitched ones but usable :p EDIT: ACK! FE7 CHAOS MODE: EPISODE 27: Chapter 31: Part 1: The Freaking Second Turn Randomswordsmaster was right! It IS the Light Runes! You know, initially I just did this to have actually used the things, but this turned out be really helpful. What with all the trouble this group is going to run into, having to deal with that enemy formation would have been just too much. Sorry greenies. We have to leave you to die. This guy has a status staff! Kill it! Note that there are multiple status users. Our siege weapon stock being basically gone, we don't have the materials necessary to take them out. ...Okay. I can forgive this. We try to kill off some of the legend users very near us. Seriously, this group starts off pretty much screwed, hence why I put all my best units there. This guy has a legendary! And I can't reach it in time! WHAT DO I DO? SERIOUSLY WITH FORBLAZE EQUIPPED THIS TIME Guy is now the designated throne guard. I don't want his poor self on the front lines. As I said, these guys don't last long. We'll be lucky if any survive. Sol Katti! Lots of enemy movement at the bottom. Also, another barrier guy! NO PRISCILLA! NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR A NAP! Great, now I have to rescue her. Hey, one of them snagged a kill! And yeah, for some reason, the general axe animation is NOT borked, but it's the only one. Well, at least they damaged him... Meh. Uh...considering the fact that we just saw ally soldiers in that area, this makes no sense in story...but hey, it's not like that's something the hack really focuses on. So, time to start the second turn! MURDER Well okay, maybe that WAS a bad idea. GET UP, LADY! NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO REST! Beautiful. Also, I just noticed this. Klok does provide a save to get the Mario Kart items, and this is presumably one of them. I feel bad using the Reinfleche so casually, but it's just my only option, it feels like... I really wished Denning dropped his. Florina uses a heal. Dead! OH YES! Enemy phase... PAIN LESS PAIN Keep these odds in mind... Okay... Uh huh... AND THEN IT BEGINS So, this is the first hurdle in... The SECOND TURN OF DEATH. I call it: "The BS Luna". Basically, Klok put 2 Luna shamans right next to the bottom group's starting position. Due to the map design they can't escape them. They both have 30 attack. The HP cap for players is 60. See where this is going? This honestly feels very unfair. Your options in this situation are: *Be super speedy and lucky(there's no way you're getting them all the way down to 0 hit) *Have a siege weapon guy kill them, when there are lots of other people around who are arguably more important targets(STATUS STAVES), and you haven't had the chance to purchase or get siege weapons for over 5 demanding chapters *Start the chapter wielding legendaries/use legendaries *Have rescue users working overtime to evacuate them, when again they arguably have more important things to do Seriously Klok, reducing the attack on those guys by even 1 point would make this all feel a good bit more fair, While redoing the turn, I manage to kill more generals than last time. Level re-get... And then due to bad RNG everybody attacks Florina and murders her, despite her being at full health. Second try, the killer axe guy from earlier crits her. Wow. And he will continue doing this despite the odds. It goes like this for a while... Until I get the idea to move her back a few spaces. Wind sword guy killed...and then... THIS GUY CRITS AND THE LUNA SHAMANS STRIKE AGAIN AND AGAIN And then I just get tired and restart the whole turn just to kill one of them. Because I did this, the person who sleeped Priscilla gets to live. Okay...master plan...please work... IT DIDN'T WORK Amidst the retries, I take a risk by moving Priscilla ahead. OKAY RATH. STAY RIGHT HERE. Turns out Serra is in Denning's range. The Sol Katti does not protect her. YES SERRA. I KNOW. Pleaselivepleasepleaseplease Sleep person goes after the greeny... YES MORE REINFORCEMENTS CAME BUT WE FINALLY SURVIVED THE SECOND TURN Now all I have left is...eight...more...turns... *sobs* BEST LEGENDARY USE EVAR Not really remarkable, but I'll take it. Guy's been helping with the stair reinforcements, despite his throne guard designation. Everyone is hurt, so there's really no better time to use this! We continue slowly cutting our way to the bottom. Hey, I'll take it. THIS HIT CHANCE IS SHAMEFUL PRISCILLA I THOUGHT YOU WERE BETTER THAN THIS Once again, I'll take it. Meh. Even more meh. Oops. THE ENEMY TAKES POISON DAMAGE HOW DOES IT FEEL ENEMY HOW DOES IT FEEL Okay, I'll cut it here. The rest of the turns won't take nearly as long, don't worry. I mean, if Mr Night can beat it without savestates or RNG abuse, it isn't that unfair IMO. Just figure out who to properly target. I also didn't waste two unit's movement on turn one by using light runes, I put them to use with siege weapons. Serra makes an excellent southern tank/distraction if equipped with Sol Katti. I THOUGHT YOU SAID NO FLIER CAN WITHSTAND IT NINO JUST WITHSTOOD IT This poor knight is going through so much suffering. KNIGHTS EVERYWHERE And a bishop Poison overwrote sleep, but poison will now quite possibly kill him. Oh yeah, and that nomad guy is quite near to the throne. Gotta kill him. More? Also, that thief opened the door to the bottom group. Not that it really matters. MONEY We're slowly but surely retaking our castle! GEITZ IS SUFFERING Forblaze+status OP. Now we don't have to worry about his range anymore. I've waited way too long to kill this guy, let's do it before he wakes up. Oh yeah, and our Light Runes are gone! See? Three turns. Last level, and it's goodenoughformetm. We'll be stuffing him full of statboosters later on, but a solid base to work with is always nice. Wow, the bottom group just disintegrated. I guess that's how easy it is when we aren't dealing with sieges/status/legends from all sides. Really? Despite their level, they manage to be annoying regardless. And some of them have axereavers. Whaaaaat I don't even remember how this happened, exactly. Bluh. The thieves are going for the chest room now. This SEEMS terrible, but keep in mind you can use them to extract the treasure without bring Canas a long ways or going through the extra. I don't even think these guys stop. They're a constant throughout the whole chapter. Bigger reinforcement wave than normal. We should try to end this soon. Also, generals in the little upper area! I finally manage to kill this guy. And get a good level! We've just about won. The enemies are backed into a corner. A Warp staff! Considering that you need it to travel to the secret shop, this is actually really convenient! WHY? WHAT IS THE POINT? IS 7 RES REALLY GOING TO SAVE LIKE A LEVEL 2 THIEF FROM BEING ONE SHOTTED? Seriously guys, the party's over. Go home. I'm letting Florina kill those guys on the top, and she's almost level capped. MURDER DENNING Without Denning and constant reinforcements, the enemy is getting easily defeated, as you can see from this montage! I never get satisfying levels anymore... Not even from Nino... Well, maybe we might get some from Vaida, SHE hasn't capped basically every stat. AXEREAVER! NOW I HAVE TO REDO ALL THAT STUFF I do actually think "hey, might as well get this" this time around. People re-get levels. And I kill more enemies. Here's how it's looking. Remember that door I didn't open earlier? These thieves are easy to catch if you leave that closed. Mr. Ostia managed to survive his poison, albeit just barely. He even does us a favor. Give! Eliwood crits and wrecks this guy. I remember when these were a challenge... Okay... A bit more killing, and we're alone. Let's wrap up some stuff! Secret shop! No? Good thing I have savestates! No? Oh, here it is. How did this stuff get discovered in normal Fe7? This is the whole selection. It is the "max everything" shop. max your luck, top off your speed and HP, promote some T3s...you name it, this shop has it. Oh, and Luna too. Maybe it's a waste. But I want Vaida promoted ASAP. And then I just buy stuff until... I'm all full. Now I'm short on cash for next chapter... Meanwhile, Vaida does something. Stimulant mid-chapter I am so not mainstream Let's do it right now! Maybe not level 20, but we're fast running out of time to focus on the long-term! Woah! Klok got her an EXCELLENT new sprite! I can tell already, it's going to be fun using her! To be honest, these are probably the best gains of any T3. She might have gotten RES too if it wasn't capped. These guys show up and head out to clear the already-empty castle. I really question how 10 generics could clear a whole castle full of promoted legend users, if they were still here.
