General Horace
The general consensus on that was yes, as long as he's being moved out of the way. The AI likes to target him with the handaxes and depending on your team, there's nothing you can do about it
Baldrick
(Warp, Warp + Rescue, more ch 6 mounted combat), Dancer, Holsety (Bleh, Horsety, Backup Warper), saves my earlygame, Balmung might be useful, money, money again, flier, Backup Backup Warper, earlygame help, whatever. Conclusion: worst earlygame (nobody to blame but myself), decent midgame, probably the best endgame (but will it be enough). ---- On another note, I just finished the prologue, and it was 24 turns :(. It would've been 19-20 turns, but my team simply couldn't face Gerrard, (Noish alone needed too much rigging), so I needed Alvis to do it. He doesn't attack Gerrard, so I had to wait until he decided to step into Gerrard's range. Part of me wants to just push on and not go through that again, (I ended up killing everything since I didn't have enough units to spare on drawing the enemy away, so I at least have a lot of levels) and part of me thinks I should try again (but that's kind of against the spirit of the draft? idk) I was surprised Azel went so early, but it turned out to be a good move. General Horace
don't worry he still manages to just fail to be useful in chapter 1 (by one strength) and is incredibly shitty in chapter
MartyTheDemonSlayer
Prologue: 18 turns. I think I could probably cut it by one or two more turns, but I don't want to play this nightmare again. It was actually sort of hard to keep Azel alive as I charged him across the map to get both boss kills, but thankfully the AI has an unhealthy obsession with attacking Ethlin, and unarmed Sigurd managed to tank a bit too. Ugh, I'm really starting to regret my choices, because I think Azel will have to play boss killer for a while longer until I get the Light Sword. Well, it's better than having no good boss killer like Baldrick. How are you planning on taking down Gandolf? You don't have Alvis to help you this time. And I can only imagine once you get to Macbeth you'll probably have to wait for Levin to walk all the way over. This draft sure is interesting... General Horace
if Lex gets the hero axe (probably worth it honestly) he can probably do it eventually, he might even be promoted by that time if he gets enough exp, elite OP CHAPTER 1 - 22/36 TURNS Everyone charged south, with Fin and Alec luring in a brunt of the enemies, the boss was countered by Cuan on the enemy phase. Fin killed an Archer in his way, allowing Cuan, Sigurd, Midir and Noish to run through. The boss died to Javelin!Noish, Midir, and Cuan. 4 turns to Genoa Ayra chased Alec far to the right, and Fin prayer tanked a good majority of the bandits (he ORKO's them). Alec lured some of the enemies around the throne up above the road, allowing for Fin (who healed at the church), Cuan, Midir, Ayra and Noish to start making their way through them. Cuan Javalin'd Kinbois on the turn before I seized to weaken him up a bit, then a combination of Cuan, Alec, Midir and Noish finished him, with Noish getting the kill and the skill ring. 5 turns to Marpha Ayra with her 3 movement on the forest moved ahead after doing the arena and actually did a pretty ok job at clearing out the bandits. I trapped Jamka with her and Deirdre (after he attacked Sigurd) and then blocked Deirdre off from Jamka with Ayra, and Jamka went after Midir, allowing me to recruit him with Aideen. Cuan killed the boss over the course of two turns, while Deirdre drew some fire from the archers, and Ayra helped mop them up. 11 turns to Verdane Edited January 22, 2015 by General Horace
MartyTheDemonSlayer
Cuan and Midir were amazing picks... Your strategy of focusing more on early game was probably the best, since almost anyone can be good in late game with the right number of rings/strong weapons. If I ever play a lordless draft again I'll for sure be going for them early. Edited January 22, 2015 by MartyTheDemonSlayer
General Horace
I think the rules might need to be tweaked a bit, I can't imagine killing early bosses without all these units. We'll have to see as everyone progresses.
MartyTheDemonSlayer
Well, Azel can do it, but he's very slow, so it comes at a turn cost. It's like Cuan and Midir > Azel > being completely screwed.
Baldrick
Maybe some kind of rule where you get X amount of free units for prologue? Anyway, I redid it. If I win by less than three turns feel free to curse my name. To Jungby: 9 turns. This time I sent Sigurd south with Alec/Noish, and Lex down to handle any stray brigands (the church was fairly helpful). I managed to conserve Noish's HP for the boss, whom he reached on turn 7, and managed to get a crit to make it a 4HKO with throne healing. To Evans: 12/21 turns. By Sigurd blitzing forward, he could draw a lot of fire so that Alvis heads towards the boss. Lex came down to help clean up near Jungby so Alvis didn't get distracted by enemies over there. Jungby was trashed, 0.0 fucks given. Unfortunately I did lose a lot of experience, but it's probably worth it. General Horace
woo have the day off work today. Gonna probably make a lot of progress since i'm in an FE4 mood. Chapter 2 - 25/61 turns Alec and Noish tanked the enemies for Sigurd, who was shielded off by Midir and Cuan anyway near the top of the knights. Midir killed the boss with the killer bow and Silver Lance!Cuan + a Javelin from Noish killed the dude blocking Sigurd from seizing otherwise8 turns to HeirheinEveryone went north, Alec had to heal at the arena, and Fin was sitting on 17 HP or so, and Noish was on 22 or something, but they weren't paramount to the chapter's completion. Sylvia triggered the enemies to move when they could (they move when one of them is attacked, since the bandits are technically from Anphony they count). Fin knocked himself down to 2 HP on one of the Axe knights, and then wiped all the melee knights guarding the castle with prayer, then killed Voltz (who was weakened by Cuan) and used the return ring to head home. The boss was dealt with by Light Sword!Alec, Midir, Cuan, and finished off by Noish. I needed either a crit from Midir (he had full HP so charge was in the question) a continue proc from Cuan, or a Crit from Noish to make this work, so it wasn't actually too bad. 5 turns to Anphonythe next castle was only unfourtunate because Sigurd had to stay out of the range of the mounted enemies, which meant he had to hang back a bit (they'll target Fin and Cuan instead of him and Ayra was too low)Speaking of Ayra, she pulled the mercs and bow dudes and mages over and had help from Lachesis's knights (and eventually Fin and Cuan). Deirdre warped Cuan to Heirhein to give him a little bit of a boost. Fin killed the boss, which is sadly kind of a waste of gold (sleep staff so good)Midir ran along the top of the map after clearing the arena to clear out the knights.Alec and Noish collected villages, I think they'll cap out on money.8 turns to MackilyDeirdre warped Sylvia to Mackily, and she danced Fin, Sigurd and Cuan ahead (with Fin in the lead)Fin killed the boss (he had to dodge a 55 to survive) and then routed the rest of the enemies more or less, and Alec was warped ahead to deal with a rouge Troubadour that wanted to fight Sigurd (he was still equipped here for some reason). Noish continuted to collect villages. Fin cleared out a ballista (his hero lance broke fighting the cavalry brigade) allowing Cuan to ORKO Shagaal with a continue proc with the Silver lance and canto out of the way allowing Sigurd to seize4 turns to Agusty Stats in a second, just gonna post them too lazy for screens i'll post this though, Sigurd almost died to ballista UNIT LEVEL HP ST MG SK SP LC DF RS NOTABLE ITEMS NOISH 20.45 50 19 05 14 16 10 17 06 SKILL RING, PURSUIT RING ALEC 17.08 42 15 00 14 12 04 12 01 ELITE RING FIN 26.57 51 24 02 17 22 18 19 03 RETURN RING, SPEED RING CUAN 19.68 51 23 02 12 15 07 17 05 SHIELD RING MIDIR 19.88 43 14 01 11 18 06 09 00 BARRIER RING DEIRDRE 08.77 30 00 15 09 13 07 04 19 AYRA 16.24 38 14 01 24 22 06 09 02 SYLVIA 08.90 32 03 01 04 12 07 03 09 KNIGHT RING, BARGAIN RING Edited January 23, 2015 by General Horace

General Horace
I think having Sigurd here would have only saved a turn or 2 at most, Fin is just the best chapter 2 unit ever, and Midir and Cuan are probably #2 and 3 (Lex might be better than Cuan, idk) He just really shines in killing the armours at the northmost castle, even a maxed strength Sigurd can't kill the armours there without a critsword (or the Hero Lance I guess but he'd have to wait around a bit for that) He's also really good at clearing enemies on the way to the third castle. The hero lance is seriously the best weapon ever like he's level 26 now that's how much work he did Edited January 23, 2015 by General Horace
Baldrick
How are you planning on taking down Gandolf? You don't have Alvis to help you this time. Gandolf wasn’t too bad, partly because Aideen kept me healthy and Hand Axe sucks; Lex did 16 damage, Noish 10, Alec 4x2 so it only took 2 turns. Chapter 1: 33/54 turns To Jenova: 11 turns I was so glad everything went smoothly I don't even care. Alec and Noish used Javelins to thin out the crowd, then the trio whittled Kinbois down. After that, Noish and Lex took a detour to be healed by Aideen then assaulted the throne, while Alec distracted Ayra. To Martha: 9/20 turns Dew and Lex went onto the village to chip the castle guard, while Alec and Noish finished the enemies pursuing Dew and Aideen earlier, then helped Lex charge to Gandolf. To Veronica: 13/33 turns The cavs pushed forward until Jamka, then stalled until Aideen reached him. Then he ran up with Sigurd, Deirdre and Alec, and this happened; Hello. My name is Jamka Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die. An archer contributing to LTC? Inconceivable! It would’ve been 12 turns, but I had to wait for Lex to get the Hero Axe. General Horace
is Sigurd allowed to eat one of the villagers in chapter 4? CHAPTER 3 - 16/76 TURNS SYLVIA danced dudes up north, ayra drew fire from the bow guys Fin killed the boss and returned himself. Noish and Cuan killed a mage and knight that were in sigurd's way.4 turns to MadinoMidir took out a few cross knights on the enemy phase after they spawned, and took out a few more the next turn. Fin got danced by Sylvia who hung around where deirdre gets kidnapped, and ran ahead and killed the crossknights that didn't go after Midir with a Javelin. Lachesis was danced ahead by Sylvia to make Eltshan go away and Alec, Midir and Fin all got a second action to clean up the remaining cross knights. Sigurd and Cuan eventually were danced by Sylvia, and Fin weakened the boss over two turns to 3 hp (unintentionally) for Alec to steal the kill with the light sword. Noish got the strength village, and bought Ayra's hero sword and hung out up north, waiting for the pirates.Fin returned home.OH YEAH remembered to start moving Aideen up north at some point.5 turns to SilvailFin sold the return ring, and Sigurd bought it and used it, which he then sold, to buy the Leg ring Noish Sold after killing the pirate boss. Briggid stayed as close but as safe as possible, while Ayra went north to try to help out with with Fin, who rebought the Return ring en route, I think he might be of some help in chapter 7 without sitting around Lenster. Ethlin bought the Iron Cutter to make Leaf's life a little easier, since I don't wanna just sack Lenster since I have Janne.Noish didn't reach the boss's area fast enough since he had to sell the leg ring, so he had to take a turn to kill the guy in front of the boss, then the boss himself. I probably would have taken the extra turn for Ichieval anyway.7 turns to Orgahil decided to tank a penalty if Sigurd isn't allowed to eat the villager, I didn't do it for stats he'd need to survive anything, I just needed Midir to occupy a space said villager was on to be danced by Sylvia CHAPTER 4 - 22/96 turns leg ring to Sylvia, she danced everyone up ahead to the north castle, Noish killed a bunch of pegasus knights, Briggid actually killed the boss. Sigurd got a village along the way because he actually needs the money! 10 turns to Thove Mahnya died and stuff, and people bought the return ring and headed home, with Sigurd buying it last after visiting the northmost village. Sigurd, Midir and Noish ran as far right as possible with dancing, right before Lamia and co they stopped (noish aggro'd an archer and a couple of mercs or something) and Sylvia danced them past, Midir killing the general in the way, and Noish killing the boss with the hero sword. 12 turns to the last castle. CHAPTER 5 - 17/113 turns First castle was easy, Noish lead the charge, and some funny stuff like magic ring!light sword Alec actually ORKO'd the axe knights and bow knights. The boss was killed by Midir (Killer bow) and Briggid with the Ichival. 4 turns to Longfart ran across the desert and stuff, Sylvia danced and stuff. Sigurd tanked a meteor. Midir killed the boss, and someone killed the priest blocking sigurd's way to seize. I forgot how many turns it took to get here though. Sylvia sold the leg ring, Sigurd bought it and fixed Tyrfing so he wouldn't be targetted by Meteo's across the desert, and he crossed the trigger point for Leptor far ahead of everyone. Midir, Noish and Alec lured some enemies away that they couldn't kill (so they wouldn't attack Briggid) and Briggid ORKO'd Leptor (she lived with 2 HP) with Ichieval, allowing Sigurd to just walk up to Aida and end the chapter. he kind of filled Sigurd's shoes in Chapter 4 and 5, but there were always stupid enemies blocking him from killing the bosses, so he generally ended up killing them while someone else (usually Briggid) killed the actual boss. Married Ayra. mediocre forever despite getting a lot of strength early on Married Sylvia thanks to the Chapter 2 convo. honestly pretty invaluable, especially with the killer bow. He even helped kill Langbart! Married Briggid. she did some stuff in chapter 1 and 2, but otherwise sat next to wherever Noish was as much as possible. we'll see if having Lakche and Skasahar actually help. Let me pass the elite ring down early I guess. I don't really know who needs it on my team though? Tristan? Oh and a lot of swords. dancer/10 I think she's reallly good in this type of draft where Sigurd can't rambo everything, and should honestly be free I think since you don't have a 12 move lord. Did some cool things like kill the Chapter 5 bosses, actually was pretty valuable! Faval shouldn't cost turns in gen 2 either because Celice will be a slug. Speaking of Celice... D: oh also Fin and Cuan Cuan was fantastic early since he hits so much harder than everyone else, but his usefulness eventually became just an extra point of movement once Fin took over chapter 2. Fin is just godly if you abuse prayer, and is probably the best gen 1 bosskiller. The hero lance has 48 kills on it or something as well, so he'll probably kill some bosses in gen 2 for a while till Aless takes off. MartyTheDemonSlayer
Yikes, I guess Horace wins already, early game power too strong. Chapter 1: 28 turns Genoa: 7 turns I needed Azel to kill the boss soooo... Marpha 7 turns: Same as above Verdane: 14 turns Thankfully I didn't need Azel this time round! I used deidre's prayer/live combination to draw a bunch of archers out to make way for my units while dodging most. I think with my team I could cut this chapter down by 1-2 turns at most. Baldrick
is Sigurd allowed to eat one of the villagers in chapter 4? General Horace
didn't record castle by caslte tc's because my notepad didn't save after a windows update CHAPTER 6 - 19 TURNS Lakche and Skasahar charged, clearing the path for Celice. Oifaye killed the first boss after either Skasahar or Lakche killed an armour blocking the way. He then bought a heavily used lightsword courtesy of Skasahar (he normally can't afford it) and charged ahead, Lakche baited Johan's goons (she was on lowish HP) allowing Celice to run through (I think he tanked one of Johan's chumps) Recruited Johan who thankfully wasn't Astra'd or critted to death by Lakche. Tristan, who protected the home castle, eventually caught up and lured Johalva and his goons around and was healed by Mana and Julia Oifaye killed all of the axegoons with the Light sword, then finished the hero axe guy on the enemy phase. Celice had to hang back a bit to not aggro any enemies Oifaye arrived at the boss a turn ahead of Celice, and killed him from range with the light sword. CHAPTER 7 - 33/52 TURNS I almost think I forgot to move Celice a few times or something this took so long. Leen actually might not have been worth it! Especially without a warp staff to send Celice around. anyway, Celice is OHKO'd by dark mages, but thankfully all my units sans Tristan (who almost did) ORKO'd Dark mages, so Oifaye killed the one in Celice's way, while everyone else took on the rest of them. Fin used the return ring to come home and help out. Shanan killed the boss and let Celice seize when he finally arrived. Everyone charged south and Oifaye hero sworded the boss. Janne and Leaf ran around and leaf tanked an armour once a turn so Janne could heal him. They got the speed ring at one point too. Doubled back for Leen, took a long time. Lakche killed blume, she could actually tank a hit and is ready to promote. Got Linda and sent her and Janne through the arena.
Baldrick
Progress dump. Too many units, cbb to record stats. Chapter 4: 13+10+4 = 27/135 turns Now that Levin's awesome, time to chain him to Tiltyu! Dew and Sigurd cut through the forest because I hate wind mages. Noish and Lex went above to cut off the pegasus knight, Alec went north to try and draw the mages away from them. Aideen provided staff-based backup and the other guys took over for Alec. The four good units took the castle while the others doubled back. The next two castles were just throne rushes. Jamka took advantage of Sigurd needing to detour to Silesia to get ahead and help kill Lamia's squad. Chapter 5: 7+10+9 = 26/161 turns I had just enough money to haveNoish was good enough to kill Langobalt with a couple of Hero Sword crits. The second castle was no good for horses with the desert + Meteor mages, but with Aideen's assistance Jamka and Sigurd eventually made it through. Although the turncounts were bad, it meant Levin and Tiltyu gained enough points that Levin could be Warped forward to kill Reptor. ---------------- Chapter 6: 10+11 = 21 turns Oifaye ran over the cliff and killed everything in Seliph's way. I wish I had thought to warp Radnay forward to recruit Johan D: As it was, Seliph had to hang back so he didn't get murdered by Johan's group. Arthur + Femina at least made sure Schmidt didn't hold up the Seliphmobile. Chapter 7: 11+7+5+5= 28/49 turns This chapter is probably the closest to standard yet. Except with Aless + Shanan at that castle when Leen is, and Oifaye + Arthur at Alster. Chapter 8: 7+7 = 14/63 turns Asaello spawning, Ishtar spawning and Blume OHKO'ing Seliph with Storm all rekt me. Seliph tended to die unless he sat on mountains going to the second castle which may also have cost me a turn?
General Horace
CHAPTER 8 - 14/56 TURNS I think Faval cost a turn, but oh well. Maybe he can make it up by helping with Alvis? He'll probably get OHKO'd because Midir gives shitty HP though. ONE CAN HOPE. Ran everyone up. Fin was the hero Lenster deserved, and saved it more or less singlehandedly, with healing backup from Janne. Leen got the leg ring, Celice bought the barrier ring so he wouldn't get OHKO'd by the mages at the start of the chapter (he needed to tank one) and the bolting mages later (but not blume sadly). Recruited Faval after constantly baiting him with Janne (he OHKO'd her at 53 hit). Oifaye killed Blume and Ishtar. 8 turns to Blume The second castle I thought was gonna be hell, but it turned out alright thanks to DEFENCE SWORD SHIELD RING LEEN who was brought to 3 HP by the enemy Javelins and then targetted over Celice from then on out (I still surrounded Celice with Tristain, Janne, Fin and Aless though), LIVIN ON A PRAYER Fin killed the boss here and Celice seized. 6 turns to the second place. Baldrick
To Luthecia 6/69 turns While Lester/Oifaye/Aless stayed on the road and drew Hannibal forward, Seliph and Arthur ran straight towards Hannibal's castle, past it and to the next castle. To Grutia 5/74 turns Sharlow walked back to recruit Hannibal, Aless/Oifaye were Warped forward, Lester sat on the castle to stop Hannibal bringing reinforcements and the infantry engaged Trabant. To Thracia 6/80 turns Arthur bought the Pursuit Ring to kill Arion quicker, Lester and Tinny were Warped forward to provide healing support. The four horses shielded Seliph from being attacked.---- Lana bought the Bargain, Knight and Leg Rings. Daisy and the Arena gave her the money necessary. To Chronos 3/83 turns Thanks to Laylea, most of the enemies were eliminated on the first turn. Seliph went south-west to avoid the remaining Fenrir mage. Lana cut through the forest, using Rescue to keep Seliph and Laylea up and positioning herself to be danced by Laylea. Arthur killed Hilda while the other combat units mopped up and Lester ran around the forest. To Rados 3/86 turnsTinny warped Aless forward, and Arthur engaged Ridale's squad. Lana Rescued Lester forward, then sold the Leg Ring and repaired the Rescue staff after Seliph stepped off, and those three units were danced. Seliph bought the Leg Ring and moved forward five spaces. Aless and Lester blocked the enemies from Seliph. The next turn, Tinny warped Shanan forward and along with the mounts, cleaned up the enemies that weren't killed on the EP. Seliph fullmoved, Lana brought Laylea forward to dance Arthur, Oifaye and Seliph. On turn 6, those two removed the boss and an enemy in the way and Seliph seized. To Miletos 4/90 turns I messed up my planning and gave Tinny both the Warp and Restore staves, so I couldn't get my Restore user over quick enough without Lana doubling back. So while Seliph/Oifaye/Arthur ran back, Aless and Femina led from the front because they were the only ones not vulnerable to Sleep staves. They killed the Sleep mages in the north. Lana pulled Laylea up when necessary, and along with Lester/Shanan/Laylea, ran towards the villages to avoid the other Sleep mage in the south. On turn 9, Seliph passed where the gate was and Lana Rescued him over the forest. Shanan stepped into Sleep range to stop a sniper attacking Seliph. On turn 10, Aless took out Ishtar and Lana pulled Laylea forward so Seliph could move twice onto the throne. To Chalphy 4/94 turnsSeliph sold the Leg Ring and Lana re-bought it for this castle. Arthur took the lead and thinned out the enemies. The other mounts backed him up, and Femina flew over the ocean to help out. Then Aless ran up and took out Alvis with Laylea's help. It's a 5HKO at 60 displayed hit, but Continue isn't neutralised by Awareness, and with the power of arena abuse I prevail. Lana and Laylea also brought Seliph to the throne. Didn't get Tyrfing, I don't think it's worth it. MacLovin
Horacestomp, gogogo. Apparently having a great gen1 earlygame can make up for the lack of Sigurd lol, It'd be interesting to try a hack where Sigurd starts as a junior lord, how would that work? General Horace
Horacestomp, gogogo. Apparently having a great gen1 earlygame can make up for the lack of Sigurd lol, It'd be interesting to try a hack where Sigurd starts as a junior lord, how would that work? We did a draft of it a really long time ago, nobody finished though. (Sigurd also had to stay unpromoted) He's actually really bad. Lord Knight gets +5 strength on promotion, so his early offence is neutered. CHAPTER 9 - 15/71 TURNS Ran to the first castle and danced and stuff, killed Hannibal since I won't need Corple. Unfourtunately he stole my magic ring. Stoopid Corple. 3 turns to Kapathogia fuck it, I don't actually remember what my turncounts were to any of the other castles. I did however use Leen as bait at the last castle (Prayer OP) and Celice ended up one space short of seizing, what a chump. Mana promoted and cleared the arena too, thanks Patty. I got the Julia conversation for Celice in case three extra res will help at some point. I'll post stats after I do the arena. Baldrick
I shelved this draft when I got to Freege and I realised I never got the Berserk staff, and I've overwritten all my chapter 9 saves already. I've got a save at chapter 5, but I don't know if I can handle re-doing the whole of gen 2.
