Offering Music and Sprites

I was pointed out to come here from FEShrine because I was told you were more active in making romhacks. So I'm offering to make custom music and sprites for people!

First up are the sprites. You can see my icon which is a custom sprite I made to represent myself, and here's an example of a more recent one:

I made sure to keep it 16 colors exactly.

And here's some tracks:

http://www.mediafire...Enemy Phase.mid

http://www.mediafire...5cr/Join Us.mid

The first is an attempt at making a boss battle theme. The second is an enemy phase theme. The third is a recruitment theme.

Please let me know if you want to work together. I really want to help people out in making a hack.

Also eventually I might end up changing my style if I buy a scanner, and will start making more freehand sprites than heavy amounts of splicing.

Your spriting looks clean and I really dig the sound of the enemy phase theme. You're off to a good start on all of those songs, but they sound like there's something missing, like they're background music with no melody (Join Us could use some drums, too).

Welcome to the modding section... or as it were, the fan projects section! Hoping to see you around.

The music is quite novel but as Alusq said, they're all missing a hummable melody to really hook back to, which is what FE music is all about, especially recruitment themes! I do encourage you to keep at it, it's so rare to find anyone who actually composes music.

I'll make sure to work on adding melodies, then! I just wanted to make a loop that sounded nice enough, now it's time to flesh it out you feel? The only problem is that I don't know how to work drums; I know there's a drumkit instrument (rather than C5, D5, D#5, etc., it's kicks, hats, crashes, etc.) but I can't seem to find it in the MIDI plugin I'm using.

I just need practice on both parts, really.

If you're in doubt with the drumkit you can set the instrument to 127 and make it play through Channel 10 - on output, the MIDI should play back with the standard drum set.

I just figured that trick out myself, actually. Here's the links again, all updated in some way:

And a new track I made out of the first Gymnopedie. Just me putting it into a MIDI and adding some instruments so the final half isn't just an unnecessary loop.
