Eveangaline
^ Yeah, basically. But he looks cool. I was hoping it meant there was more than one shapeshifter on each side but I guess it's still good.

Sky Soldier
I wonder what Bow Saint and Spear Saint will be localized to. Trueshot and Truespear perhaps? I imagine they might dig up the Radiant Dawn 3rd tier names of Marksman and Sentinel.
VincentASM
I imagine they might dig up the Radiant Dawn 3rd tier names of Marksman and Sentinel. That'd be sweet. Or just Swordmaster, Lancemaster and Bowmaster/Sniper?
Bovinian
That'd be sweet. Or just Swordmaster, Lancemaster and Bowmaster/Sniper? Wouldn't it be odd to call them Swordmaster and Lancemaster when they're technically using katanas and naginatas? Trueblade and Sentinel would get around that nicely. I'm also wondering where Villager fits into the class chart. It might be able to promote to one of Weapon Master or Basara whereas Lancer goes to the other one. Villager was shown at the very end of the 1st tier classes so it probably won't promote to anything, like in Awakening. If that's the case though then I hope Mozume has two other class trees available.

Also I hope that she gets exp crazy fast like the ss trainees. Unlike Donnel who only got like 33 exp from killing an enemy.

Sky Soldier
Wait, did Dark Knight Leo have Swords or no? Yes. BlueL
Was Mountaineer in the video yesterday? I don't recall it unless it was translated as something else (maybe the Yamabushi class, that wielded Naginatas and staves)?

AstraSage
Yes, Yamabushi was translated into Mountaineer. Actually, that was how Kirokan translated the Priest Class : 修験者 seems to be translated as "Mountaineering Ascetic" in some dictionaries and Kan decided to shorten it to Mountaineer instead of Ascetic/Monk/Priest. I agree Mountaineer makes a great way to call the Yamabushi, though...

AstraSage
Ah sorry, my mistake. Got confused by å±±. I understand how you could draw the conclusion from that, but keep in mind that Asama is a non-promoted unit and that, for the moment and until we're aware of how the class is gonna be localized, Mountaineer and Priest are interchangeable terms. Yeah I just completely forgot Yamabushi was a promoted class and didn't even look at the video before answering. I knew Asama was a non-promoted unit and mountain = yama so I drew a conclusion. Sorry again.

singularity
Yes. Unfortunately, the description was silent whether it would have access to Dark Magic or not. I hope so. Othin
We know swords, lances, and axes have Hoshido and Nohr variants; do the other weapon types have the same split? If magic is divided into Hoshido magic and Nohr magic, it would make sense for Nohr magic to include "dark" tomes while Hoshido magic has other spell types, each available to all magic-users from that side. Given that Leon is a Dark Knight and seems to have access to dark magic, it seems likely. And we know about Revenant Knights as other dark magic users, right? It was one thing in Awakening to restrict the special tomes to a specialist class, but if they're handing them out to classes like that, it doesn't seem like they're going that route at all. Only MU V2
It seems like the Dark Magic is all Nohr's, and the only way Light magic has a chance of returning is if that's granted to Hoshido to go with their white and bright themes. Speaking of those types of exclusives, I'm assuming there's going to be a new class for Kamui in route three. I really wonder what they'll do with it. If Dark Kamui can also use Dark Magic, he'll have Siege tomes and Nosferatu. White can have healing and status staves (if those return). What the heck will route 3 have? A healing skill and knives? Something so he's not all on one side of the weapon triangle. Edited June 18, 2015 by Only MU V2

That's a good point actually. Since none of the tome-using classes in Nohr would look out of place using dark magic (except maybe Strategist), dark tomes could just be considered ordinary tomes right along with fire/wind/thunder. Hoshido magic is classified under spells and not tomes, so it would make sense for them to not have dark magic without having to worry about any extra special distinctions. The Hoshidan spells in general look like they may represent a different set of elements, with water being one of them.
squkyshoes
I made a full excel document on all of the classes' weapon/staff usage if anyone finds it helpful: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1H5SubwjfaMdEu2iqpnTIIIO14gboTgMG6pxMsnKubOY/edit?usp=sharingIt's separated by Hoshido/Nohr origin and listed in the order of the video. The red dashed line indicates promoted classes.

Yes, ranged weapons have the Hoshido/Nohr split as well. Magic seems to be the usual tomes for Nohr and these paper talismans for Hoshido. Hoshido also has that 12 zodiacs theme going on for their spells, if that's worth something. If I recall right, hidden weapons are Japanese style for Hoshido and... Knives and such for Nohr I think. no idea about bows, tbh. Btw I'm not sure if Revenant Knight is confirmed to use dark magic or just magic in general.
