Paper Jam
If Merlinus is forced to retreat, does it count against your Survival score? I've been thinking of trying to play as badly as possible to get the "Suspect Mind" ending, but I really don't want anyone to die. Could I get 1 star in Survival just by letting the enemy destroy Merlinus' tent or wagon in six chapters?
Baldrick
I don't think so. I've had Merlinus die before, and I don't recall losing stars for Survival. You could always kill off Marcus/Bartre/Karel/Karla/Oswin/Ninian.
Jedi
Yeah Merlinus doesn't count against it to my knowledge.
Brinzy
Real dumb question: Merlinus doesn't count towards experience, right?
ruadath
No, he doesn't.
Paper Jam
It's a huge bump, but I didn't want to make another thread about pretty much the same subject... I'd like to make a list of all the characters who, for lore-related reasons, can't actually die in FE7, and why not (excluding the Lords, of course, since it's Game Over if they fall in battle, and also excluding Merlinus for reasons stated above). Rebecca: To have Wolt* Marcus: To be present in FE6 and to give the Tactician Reports in Eliwood's tale Bartre: To have Fir and to be present in FE6 Oswin: To give the Tactician Reports in Hector's tale Ninian: Important story reasons Rath: To have Sue Pent**: To have Klein and Clarine Louise**: To have Klein and Clarine Karel: To be present in FE6 Nino: To have Lugh and Raigh Nils: Important story reasons (although you can't deploy him if Ninian has already fallen during gameplay, can you?) Karla: To have Fir While it's not really an example, I thought I would also mention... Athos: Whether it's during the final chapter or immediately after, his death is inevitable. Do the "deaths" of the above count against your Survival score? * I've heard that there is a continuity error if Rebecca falls in battle, as it will say that she died even though her son is not yet born. ** If Pent falls, Louise will leave the battle, and vice versa; does this count once or twice against your Survival score? eclipse
You should've made another topic, because this has nothing to do with survival ranking. But given what you posted, all I'm going to do is lock this topic. Don't do it again.
