Yeah, if she hadn't gotten Whomp Powers, this match would have looked different. Now we need to wait for Espi/Shin. Dan, btw, I just used her as such because I'm often uninspired for MU builds, and because General MU counters my banes : Assassins. They're quite the annoyance to handle to me. He'll need three procs to kill, and two procs will put her into VENGEANCE mode and allow her to kill someone else while I pray for one luna and only one. General Horace Posted August 24, 2015 Share Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) Priam doesn't really have much of an excuse to have anything but Balmung equipped, he has Bowbreaker (if he has it equipped, which is pretty much all the time). If Priam only gets two luna's the Thomp kills something (providing the 4/5 Vengeance actually proc's both times) and then dies next turn. A one for one trade. There are other units with Lancebreaker too. Or Pavise. But seriously if you had missed either a Vengeance proc or a hit versus Flavia or Gangrel this game would have been totally even. You just got pretty lucky. Walhart is pretty good against the thwomp too, he survives double brave axe vengeance when Robin is above 40HP, has Lancebreaker and Pavise, and quads with a brave weapon and Luna (or just ORKO's with a Hammer) Edited August 24, 2015 by General Horace Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Espinosa Posted August 24, 2015 Author Share Posted August 24, 2015 (edited) I think you two should play with everything we've been playing with up to this point, since that's the metagame we've built ever since the round 1 games. i.e. no limits on MU, no limits on Vengeance, Aversa's Night forge still banned (there might be a good reason for it to return but that's a story for another day). The previous Losers' bracket games involved some weird low tier teams with lousy characters and it's no surprise people freaked out upon seeing General MU and forgot what to do about her. Most of us stuck to the same meta, so how about a culmination to that in the final game? Just a recommendation and certainly not an ultimatum. Espinosa Posted August 24, 2015 Author Share Posted August 24, 2015 Yeah I do actually lol I wasn't too cool with Baldrick giving the right to advance to Anon in his game, but he did "quit" halfway through the game, so that was at least somewhat semi-ambiguous (though quitting usually implies not finishing something until the end). Here, there's really no reason to have a rematch, which is further compounded by all the hosting issues that we're suffering from right now. The biggest problem is that it completely throws the important principle of 'organisation' out of the window, where winning no longer really means winning and any match that finishes may likely end in uncertainty as to how it should be handled besides the winner advancing further and the loser moving down the bracket or being eliminated. Imagine you two having a rematch (which there doesn't seem to be a good reason to), you winning, then a third game being called "by popular vote" in a similarly arbitrary manner, and, when the winner of the tourney is announced, me proclaiming that he cannot consider himself a winner until he faces me, the tourney host and his true arch nemesis, then me beating the winner and declaring myself the 'true champion' and other zany games occurring afterwards. I mean these are all "fun" things to be done, but it's chaotic and disorganised, and it makes absolutely no sense. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
