What is the pythagorean threom?

Once my friend and I were in New York City. I can't remember where we were headed. Maybe some museum. But anyway, we were walking north along the east border of central park and we ran into a huge greek pride parade.

There were lots of great floats and stuff with people wearing various interesting garments and whatnot, plus a really friendly crowd and all sorts of stuff. But by far the best part was the Pythagorean Theorem float. Proudly it declared to the spectators the great achievement of Hellenic civilization: "A^2 + B^2 = C^2!!!!!"

There was also at least one float dedicated to protesting the occupation of Cyprus by Turkey.

man i was originally going to make a post about how it was irrelevant considering severian was literally quoting a section and then i kind of got distracted by how unnatural and forced he sounded trying to say 'you stupid cunt'
