The way Scuttle's arrow stuck true, no one could have ever guessed she mostly used her bow more as a decorative fashion piece.

She knew better than to celebrate prematurely, of course.

Freya was unamused when who she'd hoped to attack fell before she could even reach him. Still, not to be deterred, another foe was in her sights.

"Gh-- Just make sure you're okay, Baron Nelon." Great, they hadn't the power to face that many bandits at once, the ones at sea seemingly content on waiting until the others cornered Owen's group. A fairly smart tactic.

For now, Owen needed to back off, it was too dangerous to face that many bandits at once with Nelon retreating. He'd need to figure a formation once the baron's wounds were healed.

"Go right ahead Princess Cassandra, I don't think I'll be needing it quite yet," he said, his words dripping with overconfidence. "I'd say I'm surprised to see you take to the field, but you seem like you've done this sort of thing before. If you need anything else though, let me know." He spotted a few of the bandits approaching their rear, and so he set off to lend his help and let Cassandra tend to her wounds in peace.

The bandit was dead. Good. Things were going well. Now all they had to do was take care of the ones behind and they could hold the position. He looked at the sword wielding ones. Those are much to fast for me. I can't fight them.

Perhaps splitting their forces hadn't been the best idea. For now, Claire just had to hit anything that got too close and hope that they could take down enough pirates to avoid being swarmed.

Doug wasn't thinking about landscape as he stared a little too long at Larissa's dancing body. It would have been the perfect opportunity for a pirate to put an axe in the back of his head. His concentration was only broke when his pegasus turned him away. Was that a snort of disgust? Who knew. Doug refocused on the enemy, now newly motivated to kill a dude.

"...This can't be." Owen feared, mouth slightly agape at the situation. They weren't charging -- the bandits were in no hurry to fight Owen's troops one by one, instead rushing as a group, like trained militia. They were smart. It sunk like a block of cold ice to Owen's stomach that the onus was with his troops to attack, to take risks and be aggressive, and they've done nothing with it. ...Not like this. I can't go down as a foolish prince, walking willingly into an enemy trap! He balled a fist with his off-hand, I've come here because... because I'm stronger than these knaves! And I'll prove it to all the kingdoms! His mind raced from thought to thought in the limited time before a bloodbath was likely to occur. He wouldn't have it occur, not if...

Owen stuck a hand in his pants' pouch, recalling a peculiar sphere with a string poking out of a small opening. An object confiscated from the incident where his sister got kidnapped in the slums. I know what this is... It was one of the inventions Toulouse shared with them, and had asked them to keep shut about. That's certainly going to turn eyes if I use it here, hopefully we can spin a tale that it was magic...

"Wait for my cue." Owen commanded to all in his vicinity, as he walked forward against so many men in what seemed like an act of bravery. Well, maybe it was. Owen hadn't actually used any of these contraptions before, but he had the basic ideas down, no thanks to Toulousian diplomats, and he certainly recognized their power. Or at least desperate times made him compelled to recognize it. Pull the string and... throw!

Internally, Owen prayed to all holy men and Engel that he hadn't messed it up.

Owen to (24,15), take THE GRENADE out (of the convoy), and attempt to throw it at square (22,14).

Serge was concentrated on the enemies coming towards the group when he heard the explosion. He looked toward the other island where Owen's group was and saw what he believed to be about 4 or 5 bandits grouped together and smoking coming from the middle. "Wh-...Wha-...What the fuck is going on over there?! Did they use a bomb?! ...Oh my fucking god they had a bomb..." Serge was in absolute disbelief.

"Grrr! Stand still!" These myrmidons, always swords, always fast; always hard to hit! It was infuriating! And to top it all off, she was getting cut up, his sword much stronger than the practice stick Talmot had danced around her with. They'd get much worse if she stood there and took it, breaking off from the engage by hitting away the only thing she could: his sword. She took some steps back, letting some of the others surround her.

"Why can't we fight soldiers again? Lances are far easier to deal with! Ugh! Sebastian, could you tend to these, please?" She called over to the Herman butler, hoping he'd remembered-- or even could, use a staff like Jeeves could. Tobias must train them all similarly...

Claire blinked and the myrmidon was gone. She wasn't exactly sure what Owen had done, but with one enemy down and a handful weakened their chances were looking a lot better than they had done a moment ago.
