Does anyone know yet where Robin's Thoron Opus is? And how to acquire any of the new costumes?

You get a costume for beating each map. Thoron's opus is in Sage's Hamlet in a mission where you have to beat all normal maps. It is an arena.

Thank you kindly for the info! I figured that the distortion maps for the characters I most wanted to get Opi for wouldn't be easy but I'll just have to work at it. I used to think I'd never get the Sol Kati scroll and I got it eventually after 7-10 tries.

Chrom's probably won't be fun. It's behind a villager escort.

Wtf is wrong with you people and all these damned conspiracy theories? "The devs must have something against Lucina" or maybe it's just the way the game was made. Holy shit, I'm half-expecting one of you to start saying 9/11 was an inside job.

I'm definitely not a fan of these two modes. Escort the Villager and Escape stages have been pains in the rear for me, but it's Chrom's Opus and so I'll simply have to grind to overlevel and smash it to pieces.

Does it have any special requirements?

At least Arena stages are pretty straightforward and pretty easy to get around so long as several of the units have a weakness like flying, dragon, mounted.

I'm missing how spoiled I was in getting both Marth and Caeda's so easily with their stage setups.

Whatever your personal feelings, she's gotten a raw deal in the DLC supports and history maps in general, and the devs weren't going to include her initially.

The wording of the interview made it seem like she was always in their plans, but they considered cutting her due to being a child character & being another sword unit (*rolls eyes*). They talked with it with both IntSys & Nintendo and deemed her to important to the story to cut (and popularity, we can assume). Important thing to note here is that if Lucina got the boot, Owain would have too.

Anyway the fact she was almost cut is irrelevant outside of the actually they hate her and purposely didn't want to use her for anything conspiracy theories.

While we're on this subject we can probably thank Lucina for the clones having different idle animations judging by that same interview

And the rule of changing the stance for each character started with Lucina. When many characters appear, those in the same class will end up sharing some similar movements. But since we have decided to change Lucina’s standing loop animation, then we also have to definitely make it the same for all characters even if they share the same class. So Lucina created that rule.

which is just insane they didn't think of that to begin with, but so many things about this game's development are just fascinatingly weird or dumb. Like Lucina not getting a lot of conversations, or the awakening cast not getting a lot of DLC covnersations in general, or 4 archer clones, or Tharja being the only clone to get a unique move or worrying about roster balance in the same season pass that added 2 more sword clones and a new sword moveset or--

Well, I knew she was the clone templet (because why put effort into giving her a unique moveset). The idea of cutting her because she was second gen was...questionable though. But you have a point I guess in that so many questionable decisions were made that this could be one. Though, I viewed it more of them being petty at having to include someone they didn't want/ were forced to include.

Oh I meant to ask this before, but the update notice said that the credits were updated. Were they never updated before now? Is it just adding all the new VA or did they change anything else with them.

Lucina is one of my favorite characters in the series, but this talk is just dumb. You're taking one conspiracy theory ("they were forced to add her against their will") and adding another one on top of it ("they're mad about it so they're not giving her screen time").

I'm all for discussion, it's why I've been on these forums for 10 years, but at some point people need to just let go and simply play the game.

People are not always aware of their own bias. Whether intentional or not, she has been given reduced screen time.

It seems they gave a character a unique artwork pose for the DLC (happens when you beat the final regular mission in the Owain map)

Spoiler

Is that a new Lissa pose? It's the first time I see it.

I got Falchion's opus. I used Lissa and Cordelia. I recommend dracoslayer and wingslayer for this mission. There are some horses too I think.

I've only played Escape once and I...honestly don't even remember it, which suggests I played it like normal and that was that.

I do actually like Villager Rescue, though. It's the first time I feel like I have to actually play the game differently rather than just killing everything I see. Though I haven't played any of the really high level ones yet so maybe that opinion will change. Geh, of course this pack had to drop right when a long work week started.

I just unlocked Olivia's Sword and Tharja's Hex and I find it amusing that their weapons start at 160 power like Aura and Hauteclere when everyone else's weapons are at 80 base power. Especially since I was kind of expecting Missiletainn and maybe Thoron to start off stronger than the named weapons.

FYI, the new mission types are called "Escape" and "Escort the Villagers"; the latter is particularly confusing, since you think it'd be "Villager Rescue" as you're coming to the aid of stationary villagers, but nope.  "Villager Rescue" is the one where you're supposed to recruit villagers into your army by defeating the captains attacking them.

Escort the Villagers is actually kinda difficult.  It's the only mission type where I didn't use pair-up.  It gets absolutely insane almost immediately after the first wave, as you get lightning siege mages, summoners spawning shadows, and a rally captain to make all them all stronger.  The villagers can die fast, and if you don't have a way to heal them, you better make sure none of the enemies get to them.

Escape plays like a more gimmicky mix between Recruitment Battle (you have to guide allies to their objectives), Targeted Elimination (you defeat certain foes to reveal where your allies are trapped), and Ally Rescue (you have to keep your allies from dying).  I like that it makes you play a little differently as well, but it's not quite as difficult as Escort the Villagers.

I think Missiletainn should have either

A) had, like, 150 or 70 power at base just so that it's slightly off the mark from the prf weapons, or

B) had the same power as a steel weapon (~40).

They already went full ham with Owain; why not take it a step further by making a joke out of his joke of a weapon?

I actually really like Escape. It's different enough without being overbearing and I generally like the flow it has. The escapees also aren't as annoying as Recruitment battles, honestly. They onl yget interrupted once by 2 guards and you can easily cut them off and they move at a fast clip.

I just did Escort the Villager and this was not at all what I thought it was going to be. See I thought this would basically be an Escape variant. You would be escorting the villagers as they slowly meander, defenseless, through the map to the escape point as more and more enemies swarm in and you're dealing with secondary objectives.

I was not expecting you defending stationary villagers on a tiny map with 2 units. I didn't have too much problems with the level 33 version of this on Emmeryn but I can tell already this is going to be rough as the levels go up. Enemies spawn very frequently, you have to deal with rally captains and lightning strikes from diviners, you only get 2 people to deploy and aside from the healer you NEED to send someone to deal with the rest. You can't let lightning strike the entire map and you cannot let the enemy get morale boosts.

The gimmick of Emmeryn's boss mission is a bog-standard Velezark surprise, though partway through the fight four shadow Wyvern Lords spawn around Velezark and advance on the base. As long as you have a wingslayer or dracoslayer they should be a non-issue though.

For Caravan Dancer, a bunch of captains with effective weaponry spawn and begin advancing on your base and commander (who are a Wyvern Lord and Great Knight, so they've got a lot of weaknesses).
