Arena Assault is generally the easiest PvP mode since you get to preview the enemy team and pick counters against your enemies for Teams 2 to 7. Although if you opponent has VS!Azura, the battle may be a little more difficult, but you can normally bait her with a green mage pretty easily so she would not be a problem. Mass producing counters might be more difficult for free players, but Gem Weapons, Triangle Adept, and Breakers are pretty cheap and abundant for paying players, so building 4 to 6 units of each color wielding Gem Weapons/Triangle Adept and Breakers should easily allow a paying player to win all the preview-able battles.
