Actually, in-game it's pronounced "Ah-TEHL-ee-er" even though (if I'm correct about this) the more accurate pronunciation would be "Ah-tehl-ee-AY." Agrees that Atelier needs more physical versions. Actually, both Sony and Nintendo got into trouble with the EU (or at least Germany) over that, because refund laws are different over here, but as far as I know, nothing ever came of it.
