  1. Oh just chillin LOL. Hearing about FE1 localization has me on another Fire Emblem kick and I've been playing New Mystery. Love this series! And this site has so much useful info on it still. Glad to be back.
  2. I'm guessing no, because Nintendo has lately been kinda dogshit about making old games available, let alone going back to localize ones from systems past. This is the first time they've ever done it, unless there's a headline or two I've missed. I'm fully expecting for this to be a one-time thing, although I'd absolutely LOVE to be wrong. Now if this game sells well enough for them to WANT to go back and do the other ones, the obvious game to translate is Binding Blade, because Roy's in Smash, and that means FE6 would likely sell better than FE2 for example. If not Roy's game, then they'll probably just go in order. Maybe each time one of the OG 6 hits their 30th anniversary they get a translation? Who knows. I'd love to play the SNES games on the Switch eventually. This announcement also brings hope to that OTHER Japanese game people really want translated. The one on the GBA that people asked Reggie about so often it probably haunts his nightmares. You know the one!
  3. Awesome that this is being done, the timed release thing is stupid but the actual concept of going back and translating this game is awesome. Not only have they gone back to localize but they added new features too, they actually put work into this. It's neat. I'll buy and play some of it as a novelty despite IMO the remakes are a way better way to experience the NES games. It's neat that they're doing this and I'll be glad to shell out $6 to support this in hopes they translate the other 5.
  4. My predictions, based on the fact that IS has a history of crowdpleasing New banner units GHB matching said units Something addressing the orb glitch Raids (note how no GHB units thus far use endgame bosses, those characters will get their own mode. Plus we need more community oriented events.) If not raids, a new game mode in general, something utilizing the community and/or friend list. Addressing powercreep with something only half effective like increasing the bonuses from supports. Formally announce the Michalis rerun, hint at a Xander/Camus/Zephiel rerun chain Summon pool shuffling, personally hoping for all units available at 4 stars to be removed from 5-star pool QOL changes made to TT, a new TT, if it's a mini it'll be New Mystery themed. Something nobody's come up with so far.
  5. I think it's fake, but only because of the title. I find it kind of hard to believe they already have the title figured out. Gothic FE sounds interesting, overused as that aesthetic is. Maybe they can breathe new life into it. Villainous Avatar sounds kind of counter-inuitive but I'd give it a shot.
  6. I was under the impression Navarre was more popular than Ogma? He's Sakurai's favorite character IIRC. Director of a different franchise, but my point is that Navarre seems pretty beloved as far as Shadow Dragon characters go.
  7. I really want Nephenee, but don't want to spend all my orbs to end up with an Oscar. I guess I'll just wait for the inevitable Slaying Weapons banner? Elincia's cool but I'm scared of Red Hell. Although I saw a reddit post saying that sniping her won't be much more difficult than sniping the other two?
  8. Genealogy's large maps may translate well on something like the Nintendo Switch? It could be faithful in the manner of large maps, literally fighting across the continent, but removing unpopular features like each unit having their own money supply. Binding Blade hasn't aged very well at all IMO. Same turn reinforcements make it near unplayable unless you either use save states, look up maps beforehand, or are a masochist. The weird hit rates don't help. Everything made after Binding Blade is fine though? I mean the other GBA ones have the annoyance of class-exclusive promotion items, but other than that none of them really beg for remakes.
  9. So Nephenee and BK have appeared on the browser game but nobody else? I can see myself spending literally all of my orbs trying to cop a Nephenee.
  10. BK is the trials reward and Nephenee is a banner unit? RIP my wallet.
  11. I'm thinking of waiting until literally the last day to summon, because with Valter on his way and summer coming to a close, I wouldn't be surprised if they threw Sacred Stones or Choose Your Legends at us in a couple days.
  12. To prevent it from being a "sales disaster", all Nintendo has to do is market it well. A timeless strategy RPG. A sidequest in the age when Marth ruled. The world before Awakening. Then of course, the actual game has to be good. Right now, it seems to be shaping up. As long as they don't do any stupid stuff like they did with Gaiden chapters in SD, it's fine.
  13. Gaiden hasn't aged particularly well but it's a fun thing to sink a few hours into. If you find yourself with nothing to do one evening, I'd give it a shot. Just for fun.
  14. Release a localized FE12. If FE 1-3 get remakes, the next logical one to do would be FE4. Genealogy would be the big release, and Thracia could be a DLC second campaign or something. They can reuse the whole waifus/children thing that helped get Awakening on people's radars. I see the concern over them making FE4 more playable, but if I could contest, IS seems very dedicated to keeping in the unique Gaiden features for Echoes Valentia. Maybe they would be the same for FE4.
  15. I'm fine with the androids being there. They're stronger than Goten, Trunks, and Yamcha. Roshi however, should not be there. Even Yajirobe is stronger than him. I'm still insanely excited anyway though.
  16. I wonder why that happened so immediately. Was Trump behind that decision? If even a quarter of the stuff being said about him and Russia is true, he's already impeachable. During a rally he literally said "I hope Russia finds Hillary's missing emails." If he stops keeping the House happy, or if Dems retake it in 2018, he's probably done for.
  17. With Biden hinting at a 2020 run, looks like Booker, Gilibrand, and Biden are positioning themselves to be the front-runners. I think Gilibrand will fall off quickly but I wonder how Biden would fare against Booker.
  18. Considering Clinton lost on a technicality, and by slim margins, I'd say "doing better than Clinton" is enough to win. Assuming the people of 2020 will be as receptive to "revolution" populism as they were this year. If Clinton barely lost, Biden would have won.
  19. After the awful rumors that Carson and Palin might get spots, Mad Dog Mattis is honestly a very pleasant surprise. As for 2020, Booker has the most charisma out of the shortlist I've seen, which I think is why he's the favorite. Biden is beloved enough to probably win, but I doubt he wants to run. And I think Bernie missed his window. Tammy Duckworth would be an interesting dark horse if she wasn't born in Thailand. Considering Gilibrand is shopping herself to Clinton's donors, I think it's safe to say she plans to run. She seems like the "Hillary, minus the decades of baggage" candidate, but he problem is, she comes off as even less likeable than Hillary imo. Warren's a giant risk, specifically with men and donors. I can't think of any really big contenders besides Booker and the obvious Biden/Kaine/Sanders. Maybe Al Franken?
  20. He has a troubling habit of forgetting that free speech and the 1st Amendment are a thing.
  21. National voting holiday is a great idea. Abolishing the college isn't on the table in the near future, just based on pure partisanship. The college favors Republicans, and will probably continue to do so increasingly, so I don't see GOP lawmakers being inclined to remove that advantage. It would require amending the constitution, which takes 2/3 of both the House and Senate, and 38 of the 50 states. Democrats would need supermajorities in all of these places for it to be possible. Ranked voting is an interesting choice, I'm not against it, but part of me still believes the two party system can be salvaged. If there was a way to make sure officials can't interfere in the primary process in any way, it might work fine. Which interestingly enough, is one of the main reasons the college exists. The fathers believed the people might be too uneducated to make an informed decision, so the college existed as a safeguard in case of that. That's not really an issue now with the internet and 24/7 news cycles, but I'm sure someone could make a sliver of an argument using the current fake news epidemic. Making the electoral college proportionate instead of winner-takes-all would fix most of the problems people are having with it. Removes party lean, keeps small states important, continues to keep voter fraud at a minimum.
  22. I thought Obama's statement was perfect. It was nuanced, and keeps diplomatic opportunity with Cuba open. Not sure what Trudeau and Trump were trying to accomplish with theirs.
  23. I'm sure Dems in Michigan that stayed home thought the same thing. Votes aren't useless. But, a way to potentially "fix" the electoral college would be to keep the point system that inflates worth of small states, but eliminate the winner-takes-all system in exchange for something proportional. Plus that way every vote actually does matter. Haven't done the math but that's just a suggestion.
