I think it was also due to a lot of people being annoyed by Awakening/Fates characters winning too and some still are to this day at least until Ninian broke that streak with Shanna soon after.

I really don't get why people are saying this here. More people know who Lyon is than Shanna who only appeared in the Japanese exclusive Binding Blade where as Lyon is a major antagonist and THEE antagonist that is responsible for what takes place in Sacred Stones. Lyon for crying out loud is up there in popularity with the Black Knight as according to CYL. I'm sorry, but I just don't think it's a good comparison. Hardin winning against Marth was a bigger surprise because at least the gap between them to that of Lyon and Ephraim was far greater.

In Splatoon 2 it's a case of like how we had Team Pulp vs Team No Pulp with the latter team being the most popular (by double), but because of that being the case the former team won because they had higher percentage for both Solo and Team battles. The team that wins a Splatfest is also by law in the game the indisputable best one too. Pulp winning was just DISGUSTING!

Exactly, Lyon hates Ephraim because he's everything he wish he was, but he at the same time loves him dearly as he was Lyon's first friend.

It isn't really that unbelievable I mean Lyon is like the 2nd most popular antagonist in the series only behind the Black Knight according to CYL. Also Team Ephraim in the last 2 hours made a error in giving a large gap hence while Lyon had the bonus multiplier in the 1st hour and then onto the 2nd hour he still had it.

Added you and nice to see Ephraim's sister (your Eirika) lend her aid as well to their best friend.

@SageOfAnys @Korath88 Added you both. I think it goes without saying Ephraim fans are the least disheartened by Ephraim losing (because it's his friend Lyon obviously) where as Marth fans are the most upset over him not advancing. That's what I'm seeing over on reddit and other places.

Ike is the only one that canonically won his fight in this gauntlet. Onto Team Lyon for me to support his friend and my favorite antagonist in the series.

I do think Lyn would be the most likely choice. The thing that people don't seem to realize why she was chosen in Warriors instead of Ike was because apparently IS said during I think a Heroes interview that while Ike was more popular in the US and Lucina was more popular in Japan Lyn instead had more worldwide appeal. My only complaint though for if she is in the game would be that I do feel like they are going to take out a FE character and personally I would place my bet on either Roy or Lucina. I'm not entirely certain of Lucina because she comes from Awakening (the game that saved the franchise and brought in new FE fans) but she is a clone of Marth so unless Sakurai decides to just make her a alt of Marth then yeah, then there's Roy who really his moveset isn't anything special either and out of the 4 CYL Brave Heroes he had the least amount of votes. Now I know that people aren't too fond of Corrin but like it or she was among the top 10 characters and actually does have a unique moveset. This would be my list for FE reps: Marth (Lucina alt), Ike, Robin, Corrin, Newcomer Lyn and Newcomer FE16 lord/main character.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Chrom fought against Lon'qu and must have managed to win thus he technically thus meeting the Navarre arcehtype had it not been for Lucina interfering seeing as how he lost due to learning that "Marth" was a woman. Reason why I think it's dumb some people don't think he fits the archetype. *looks at Fire Emblem wiki not having him listed for it*

I would post my +10 Brave Heroes, but don't think it's worth it because they already have such good builds on their own. Anyway here are my other +10 characters. Ephraim here is best charismatic leader to any of my teams. Just gotta trust him and follow his lead. Chrom here has had amazing survivability even before the weapon refinery update which has made it even more tanky and now he can not get doubled more, especially when his daughter Brave Lucina is with him with her drives and I hope for a Drive Atk seal from her so then Chrom gets +6 Atk and Spd. Robin here has a ally S support with Chrom as his bond with him gives his husbando best friend strength! And then when you take into the Rally Def/Res and Spur Def/Res that gives +6 Def and Res just like B!Lucina. Taking all that into account with them right next to each other and Chrom's daughter nearby our blue haired shepherd gets a total of a whooping +12 Atk, Spd, Def and Res! (and that's not taking into account that Chrom can get Hone Atk +4 and Hone Spd +4 buffs from his voting gauntlet bro Ephraim) Ike here is +Def -Res and LnD works on him in giving him the spd needed while not hurting his def too much thanks to his boon to double opposing Ikes should they not have Fury or are +Spd or just to not be doubled by other certain foes. But with that boost in atk he gets atk equal to Chrom which I always felt fitted him, but anyways this means Ike can get Heavy Blade to work against the likes of+Atk B!Ike or +Atk VL!Ike who both have 59 atk as those two are most likely going to both have Steady Breath or just the latter one Warding Breath.

Apparently she's more popular than Celica over Japan from what I remember hearing. Also yeah that disappointed me, especially when his design is such an improvement over how he looked like before.

I can agree with you there that Niles does falter in that regard compared to Leon for far more sense as relatable gay representation and yeah we should probably not continue with this given the topic.
