  1. Likes: - Nohr's gameplay. - The soundtrack is among the best in this series. - Personal Skills are a nice little touch to make everyone unique. - The new weapons system is fun and interesting. - Most of the new classes. - The characters in general. The majority of them are written better than Awakening's, and there are more I genuinely like. Azura, for example, is one of my favorite characters in the series. - Half of the class designs. The Lancers, Outlaws, and Samurai in particular are very nice. - Pair-Up changes. - Unisex classes. I can FINALLY have my male Peg Knights and female Berserkers now. - The new animations are pretty fluid. - Feet. Dislikes: - Conquest's story. I'm fine with Birthright and Revelation, they were okay if nothing special, but Conquest is just a mess. - Related to the above, the guilt-trip for choosing Nohr. - Also related to the above, no moral greyness; Hoshido is pure good and Nohr is pure evil. - Incest being treated as wincest. - Children and their shitty excuse for being in the game. - Zero and Shara as LGBT options. I'm sorry and I'm not trying to offend anyone, they just make me uncomfortable and I wish they'd chosen other people. - Excessive fanservice. Especially when it undermines characters. Camilla, for instance, had the potential to be interesting if they hadn't reduced her to pure fanservice. - The other half of the class designs. The Dark Mages and female Generals/Cavs in particular are pretty bad. - Avatar-worship needs to stop. Overall I do like Fates more than Awakening, and I do think it was a good game. And hopefully some of the things on my dislike list--the black-and-white morality, the wincest/incest thing, the guilt-trip for Nohr--will get changed in the localization, so I can enjoy it even more.
  2. @Respite: Her support with Ignis was good for an Eponine support, since they sort of bonded over their mutual social awkwardness. Eponine being Eponine, she was still in yaoi-fangirl mode, but at least she wasn't fantasizing about Ignis with other guys and you got to see him being cutely protective of her (since she's delicate looking, I guess). It's one of those things that's only okay now but would be a lot better if the localization changed some things *coughyaoifantasiescough*.
  3. You're not, I'm miffed too! Heck, I've been miffed a while, because this is like a constant in Fire Emblem. IntSy likes throwing good couples with chemistry at us, and then snatching them away. Basilio/Flavia, Jakob/Flora, Ryoma/Crimson, half the FE9/FE10 couples, all the FE6 couples...
  4. 1) Make Azura less mysterious and let the rest of her personality shine through. She's got a great one, but you almost never see it outside of supports because the game is too busy shoving "mysterious" down your throat. 2) Tone down Camilla's yandere obsession and focus more on the "broken but still loving survivor of a political battlefield" aspect of her personality. I would honestly not give a damn about what she wore if her potential was properly fleshed out. 3) Buff up the units in Revelations. We have access to nearly all the characters in the game in that route, but almost no one outside of Corrin, Azura, the royals, and the neutrals is worth using because IntSys couldn't be bothered to properly buff their bases. 4) Do something about the "problem" characters (Soleil, Eponine, Zero, Pieri) to make them less problematic. I don't want another Soleilgate when the game hits the West. Tone down Zero's lewdness/sadism, Pieri's psychopathic tendencies, have more of an emphasis on Eponine's Robin Hood persona rather than yaoi fantasies, that sort of stuff. Soleil's tricky--either remove her bisexuality or let her actually S-support girls. 5) Let Jakob and Flora support. Please. He has no good S-supports and it would let people who want to marry a first-gen as Mamui get all the kids. 6) Actually, let all the Kamuisexuals support--not just S-support--other people than Corrin. Avatar-sexuals are a dumb idea, it just hinders their characters.
  5. Hinata's face in the last panel of Hisame's first comic is just utterly priceless.
  6. Posting my own thoughts and guesses on the voice actors of the people from the trailer: I think Mamui is Josh Grelle. He sounds like Armin Arlert from AoT, just deeper, and he fits the archetype Grelle gets pigeon-holed in a lot, that of the "young naïve protagonist who toughens up". I hear Matthew Mercer guessed a lot for Xander or Ryoma, and of the two I'm leaning Ryoma. Mostly because of Mercer liking that tweet and because that deeper voice is more in-line with him. Xander sounds like he could be Cam Clarke. Takumi and Leo are tough. I want to say David Vincent for Leo, since he kind of reminded me of Jin from Blax Blue, but I'm not sure Vincent's voice can go that deep. And Takumi's raspiness just kill any sort of familiarity his voice has. Best guess is Ben Diskin or Liam O'Brian. Elise and Garon are easy, the former is Cassandra Lee Morris and the latter is definitely Travis Willingham. Morris has done the "cute little sister" archetype before, and Elise sounded a lot like her. Garon's voice was just pure Willingham.
  7. Lazward/Soleil is a surprisingly heartwarming piece that shows that the latter does, in fact, have maturity. It's honestly one of the better parent/child supports this game, but... But you put Luna/Matoi on that list, and that's great for both those characters--especially Luna, in regards to how far she's come from Awakening--so it gets my vote.
  8. Camilla. My dislike of her design and Corrin-obsession clashes with my like of her usefulness as a unit and the underused part of her personality (the tragic, broken survivor of a political battlefield), and I just end up feeling indifferent towards her. Setsuna. She's just a tired repeat of the same gimmick over and over, but unlike Jakob she's not offensive enough for me to actually dislike her. Most of the time I just forget she exists. Pretty much all the kids. They're just so...bland. Exceptions are Shigure (who actually feels like a person), Foleo (interesting concept), Mitama (ditto), Shara (I hated Tharja, I hate you too), and Eponine (see Shara, just replace "Tharja" with "Yaoi Fangirl").
  9. I'm still mad I can't give Midoriko Kaze's green hair. I don't think I'd mind so much if her name weren't literally "green girl", but she just looks weird in any other color (except maaaaaaaaybe purple because of her eyes).
  10. @Minischew: They hung out, but for a couple of reasons they were probably never affected by the Westermarck effect. One, the Westermarck effect primarily occurs among people raised together from babyhood to six, and while I don't think the game says how old Corrin was when they were kidnapped, they were probably in the five-six range, going off other game information (Elise wasn't born yet, Elise is twelve-ish, Corrin is probably eighteen, ergo Corrin is about six years older than her). So by the time they met Silas, they'd have passed the threshold for the Westermarck effect to kick in. Two, Garon ordered them separated and they weren't reunited until some years later, which would have further reduced the chances for the Westermarck effect. And three, while they were best friends, they weren't actually raised together (which doesn't always stop the Westermarck effect, but combined with the other two factors it means the odds of them being affected by it would have been very low).
  11. Leo never explicitly states he settles, but I can kinda see where some people are coming from since most of his S-supports lack a certain...spark. He doesn't really have chemistry with most of his partners. That in and of itself doesn't necessarily mean he's settling--it could mean he's just asexual or bad at emotional stuff--but combine it with the forbidden love for his sister and I can understand why people would jump to that conclusion. I'm kind of torn on how to feel on this. On the one hand, I think it would legitimately interesting if this were a major part of his character in the game, exploring his struggles with a taboo feeling and his fears over it getting out. On the other hand, sibling incest is still pretty gross, and I feel like including it in this game undermines the theme of family it was aiming for.
  12. I haven't found a link to the page, but I found a link to the text on the page: http://ammie-plays-fe14.tumblr.com/post/134216269412/ammie-plays-fe14-apparently-a-large-portion-of ...apparently it's not past-tense, it's present-tense. He's still in love with Camilla. Again, what the hell, IntSys?
  13. Dammit IntSys you have ONE JOB and that's to NOT make siblings romantically interested in each other. Like seriously, the theme of this game was supposed to be family, and you're throwing it away for what? Some kind of fetish? Why would you do this?
  14. Does anybody have Flannel/Belka? That's one of the few untranslated supports left and I've been looking all over the Internet for it. I bring a translated (not by me) Kaze/Hana support as humble tribute: http://megidoladying.tumblr.com/post/134184654474/suzukaze-and-kazahana-supports-c-s
  15. @Phillius: No one hates Azura's role in the plot more than Azura's own fans. @TheDanMan: Jarring in a good or bad way, lol. I think she does have the biggest difference between how she is in the plot and how she is in the supports, but that also extends to the other main characters. They're all just horribly chained down by the story. @Thane: That's where you're wrong. She's quiet in her supports, but that's due to her emotional detachment, not her mysteriousness--actually, as her supports with Flannel and Asama show, both those things sprout from the same issue: fear of rejection and relying on people only to be let down. Which probably also sprouts from her bullied childhood in the Nohr courts, but that's never confirmed or denied. Hence, she keeps her distance from people she doesn't trust--everyone but her "siblings" and Corrin--which causes her to come off as mysterious. The player and other characters DO learn about her, she just doesn't rely on a gimmick for characterization. You don't have to like her, but she's not just "mystery girl" in her supports.
  16. @Phillius: Good point. Hopefully the localization tones down the mysterious vibes and lets the rest of her personality shine more. @Sunwoo: Fair enough, although she's hardly the only one guilty of holding an Idiot Ball at some point or other. I think, of all the major characters, Leo's the only one who doesn't. Anyway, for the popularity poll, I was so happy to see Flora, Kaze, Charlotte and Gunter do well. Especially Gunter, he's such a great father-figure and character, but I was worried his age and Kamuisexual status would doom him to the lower ranks. Orochi being dead last surprised me, though, I knew she wasn't popular, but I didn't think she was that UNpopular either. And hopefully IntSys will note the low rankings of the kids (especially compared to Awakening's) and realize that they either need to pull them from the game completely, or come up with an actual good reason to justify their existence.
  17. Oh my god I canNOT agree with this enough. It boggles my mind whenever people say Azura's bland, because she has one of the most well-developed, non-gimmicky personalities in the game. Does she come off as boring due to all the exposition in the main story? Yes, I won't deny that. But there's so much more to her once you look at her supports, and you don't even have to go digging too deep or desperately to find her hidden depths.
