  1. Currently, anyway. Nintendo always could update the infrastructure to support such a feature, just like they could in theory add new customizable fighters to Smash akin to the Mii Fighters, including new kinds of Mii Fighters. Here's hoping Smash 6 cranks fighter customization up to a whole new level, with not only customizable movesets or even fighter teams but also variable costumes and color palettes for every fighter. Imagine if Mario or Link were as customizable as the Miis. Mario did head-and-body costumes in Odyssey, and Link did him one better with head-body-leg pieces in BotW. Wouldn't it be oh so cool if Smash 6 could do that with virtually every fighter? With just eight costumes and eight preset color choices alone, you could have 64 different possible combinations per fighter, and if you can customize different parts of the body individually you can have even more than that. I'm telling you folks, Smash 6 is going to be the dream custom fighting game. Custom Fighters are going to be Smash 6's big hook, its main draw.
  2. S'alright. Back-and-forth banter with some wit. So long as you enjoyed writing it. They do like updating movesets in Smash, so maybe come Smash 6 Bowser Jr. will add the paintbrush to his? For that matter, maybe the Koopalings will be able to get their own movesets as separate fighters? I mean, it's cool that they were able to get in at all as Jr.s' variants, but come Smash 6, they'll be looking for new fighters with which to pad the roster, and the Koopalings are seven easy options. They all use magic scepters as their main weapons, and each also uses unique moves pulled from their various appearances. Lemmy could conjure a ball to ride around on and throw bombs, Morton could swing a hefty hammer, Roy could shoot Bullet Bills with a Bill Blaster, Wendy could ice skate and throw bouncing rings, etc. They could be a team fighter so as to only take up one roster slot, with a character select command mapped to Shield + Special, and they could have a shared Final Smash as team fighters tend to, likely involving all seven Koopalings attacking in tandem. In such a scenario, they would presumably also have a shared stage, Airship, perhaps with seven different aesthetic alternatives to reflect each Koopaling. Speaking of adding even more Mario fighters to Smash, I'd like to see Pauline and maybe Classic DK and DK Jr., to get all four of the classic arcade quad in there (though CDK and DKJ would technically be DK series reps.). I mean, Mario's already broken the unofficial Rule of Eight, so why not?
  3. So basically, this is the final boss Super Mario Sunshine should have had.
  4. I think I know what I want for Bowser's Final Smash in SSB6.
  5. On the one hand, it would be cool to see the Gym Leaders, Champions, etc. but on the other, a Pokemon Warriors game where the Pokemon themselves talk would also be cool. Maybe do both? One Pokemon Warriors with Trainers, and one without.
  6. Had this idea this morning: N. Brio from Crash Bandicoot. He'd be able to throw vials that explode or create blobs and mix a serum he can drink to transform into Monster Brio for a short time. He might be able to fly using a jetpack since they were featured in Crash 2 and Brio himself used one in Crash Bash. His Final Smash would of course be the laser from Crash 2's true ending. Brio catches his foes in a teleporter that sends them to the Cortex Vortex space station, then fires the laser at the station, destroying it. Basically K. Rool's Blast-o-Matic but with a different cinematic. I really want Brio in Smash now, along with Crash, Cortex, Coco, and a good number of other Crash characters. While I'm on a Crash kick, I got ideas for Pinstripe Potoroo as well. Obviously his N Special is his Tommy Gun. While you hold the button, Potoroo fires his Tommy Gun and can aim the gun in different directions. However, if you let the gun overheat, it'll jam, preventing Pinstripe from using it for a few seconds. For his D Special, Toxic Waste, Pinstripe calls Fat to throw a barrel as happens in the level of the same name. For his S Special, Pinstripe throws a Bowling Bomb that rolls along the ground and explodes when it hits something or when you press R. Pinstrip's U Special, Heavy Machinery, conjures a platform under his feet which lifts him upward for a brief bit before falling. Pinstripe can use Heavy Machinery up to three times before he needs to touch the ground again. You know, Ripto could work well as a tag-team with Crush and Gulp. Crush would be the most melee-oriented with his big club giving him superior reach and knockback. Gulp could use his big maw to swallow items or to bite down on opponents, slam and bury opponents with his girth, and shoot a rain of lightning orbs from his back-mounted cannons. Ripto's melee attacks would make up for their lower range and power with greater speed and multiple hits, giving him some combo potential. A lot of his attacks would reference his three orb spells: fire wave, plasma gas, and electric orbs.

  10. Boy, wouldn't it have been cool if they could have gotten Knights of the Round in there? Knights of the Round Type: Support (Attack) Class: ★★★★ Cost: ⬡⬡⬡ Skill: Weapon & Magic Attack ↑ ↑ Fighter: 3 × Link, 3 × Byleth, 3 × Robin, 3 × Ganondorf, Chrom Stage: Reset Bomb Forest Music: Fight On! Conditions The enemy's weapon and magic attacks are more powerful.
  11. The one problem with that is Mr. L is a Paper Mario concept, and so would work better as a costume for a Paper Luigi fighter (though there's nothing saying he couldn't be both). Dr. Luigi not only mirrors Mario's proposed Echo, he even has a basis now with his own game. Failing that, I'd suggest Gooigi who is actually a separate character, but even he would probably work better as a skin.
  12. Wolf Link, if Midna's included. WYR have Lara Croft or Joanna Dark?
  13. Brian from Quest 64, a game few people have played and fewer remember. Despite how short and shallow it was, Brian's selection of spells would make for an interesting moveset. Speaking of short and shallow (yet nevertheless fun) RPGs, Benjamin from Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. His moveset would include the sword, axe, claw, and bombs, as well as some White, Black, and Wizard Spells.
  14. At this point, Dr. Wily & Robot Masters would probably catch a lot of people off-guard, as evidently not many have thought of Wily leading a team Pokemon Trainer-style. But I think that'd be an ingenious way to not only include Wily by technicality but also to include some playable Robot Masters who, let's face it, are the true stars of the Classic Mega Man games. I mean, sure, Wily could be directly playable in his capsule or maybe a machine, but then you have three options for his moveset: Try to pull as much from the games as possible, which mostly amounts to a bunch of energy projectiles. Borrow some weapons from other bosses, such as the Robot Masters or Fortress bosses. Implement a lot of original moves, which kinda defeats the purpose when you have existing material to draw from. Way I see it, players would be more excited by the chance to play, say, Guts Man or Pharaoh Man than Wily himself. But Wily can still be included by way of the Final Smash using one of his Wily Machines to attack. And they could always add a Wily Machine boss fight to Smash to give the doc more presence.

  16. Lately, I've been a little obsessed with the idea that Dr. Wily could bring playable Robot Masters with him into Smash as a fighter team, with Wily as the commander and the Robot Masters as the playable fighters. The concept to me seems brilliant, as Robot Masters would be easier to implement as playable fighters than Wily himself, and that would be more in-keeping with how Wily works in his home series (in contrast to, say, Dr. Eggman, who regularly battles Sonic throughout their games). However, I've been struggling with the best way to implement this concept: Concept A: Four specific Robot Masters compose Wily's team. This would reference Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, MMII-MMV for Game Boy, and MM7 and 8, which separated Robot Masters into groups of four. Concept B: Eight specific Robot Masters compose Wily's Team. Obviously this references the usual boss ensemble for Mega Man games. Concept C: Wily's team can use different combinations of Robot Masters, pulled from across the series, making Wily a customizable fighter. This could work with either four or eight, but would probably be more feasible with four. Then there's the matter of the Robot Master selection. Popularity is a major factor, but I don't want to show too much favoritism for any one game. Sure, you could just slap MM2 RMs in there and call it a day, but that feels disingenuous to fans of the series as a whole, hence my suggestion that the team be customizable. Ideally, every Robot Master could be included as a possible member of Wily's team, but I realize what an undertaking that would be, so I'm open to suggestions of exactly how big a pool seems feasible here. One per game? Two? Four? Or do we just indulge in the crazy what-if fantasy of an 8-robot team that can consist of absolutely any RMs we please? Bearing in mind that, at minimum, we'd be looking at 86 RMs from the core numbered entries, not counting the Mega Man Killers, Stardroids, King's Army, or Time Man and Oil Man. As for how to switch between them, I was thinking Shield + Special could be used to bring up a menu of the four (or eight) Robot Masters on the team which you can select. The Final Smash would of course be Wily tagging in with a Wily Machine to deliver a powerful attack. My pick being his Power Fighters Machine with the beam cannon in its mouth. Simple, yet symbolic. On the aesthetic front, I did consider the possibility of Wily using his Mr. X disguise and his MM8 and MM11 designs as costumes with decoy variants, but I realized it would be even cooler if his "costumes" were different Wily Capsules from the series. As for the RMs themselves, I'm not against referencing different RMs with costumes, like maybe Stone Man and Concrete Man costumes for Guts Man, as well as a Block Man color scheme for the Stone Man Skin. But if all 80-odd RMs can somehow be worked in there, what kinds of alternate colors should they have? What do my fellow Mega Man fans think? Which Robot Masters would you pick for Dr. Wily's team? What kinds of movesets would you give them?
  17. I just figured Tetra would be similar enough in build to Link that they could play similar, but she isn't normally known for using a shield. And for what it's worth, we have Dr. Mario as a fighter (and not an Echo, for some reason), so at this point virtually any fighter can be justified as getting a variant of themselves as an Echo (and indeed, that's exactly what I did with Luigi, Donkey Kong, and Link). So, maybe Toon Link's Echo can be some variant of Toon Link. He and Young Link wouldn't work though, their builds are too different. See, the main determining factor in whether a fighter can be an Echo is whether or not they can use the same animation rig as their base. The animations themselves don't have to be the same (Dark Samus hovers above the ground while Samus walks and runs, for example), but they could both be animated using the same skeleton, without altering the bones or joints. This is why I argue Coco couldn't be Crash's Echo, for example, because her shoulders are narrower than Crash's (far narrower in IAT), so her shoulder joints wouldn't line up with his. She could certainly have a similar moveset, but they'd have to use a different animation rig for it. Likewise, Toon Link's long arms and torso and short stubby legs wouldn't line up properly with Young Link's respective joints.
  18. Though this may be greedy, I hope for a 3rd pass. On the other hand, if getting only two means they can start working on Smash 6 sooner and really make some changes, I can live without a 3rd pass. But if they can co-develop Smash 6 and FP3, even better! After all, they gotta keep the cash rolling in somehow. Fighter Passes seem like a good way to do that. And chances are Smash 6 won't happen until the next Nintendo console, so yearly Fighter Passes might be a good way to fill in the gap.
  19. In this topic, we explore the idea of every fighter who doesn't currently have an Echo Fighter in SSBU getting an Echo Fighter, with some exceptions: Most of these simply don't have good Echo options, though if anyone else wants to try thinking of some anyway, they're more than welcome to! As a reminder, here are the Fighters who do currently have an Echo: Now for all the fighters who don't yet have an Echo but have reasonable options for one: Thoughts? Ideas? Feel free to share!
  20. My picks are Crash Bandicoot, Shantae, and Dr. Eggman. I know that Shadow is more likely than the Doc, but I want Eggman more. Of course I'd love to see most of the recurring Sonic crew join the roster, likely in Smash 6. In particular, I'd like to see Eggman, Tails, Amy, Metal Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Rouge, Cream, Omega, and Blaze.
  21. My bro and I usually try them out first in Classic, then head to the Spirit Board.
  22. Yeah, that'd work well, for Champion Link in particular. Depending on how much we want to focus on individual games, I'd consider including as many as seven different Links, each of whom could have his own set of items to pick from. Classic Link, or just plain Link Ocarina Link, the adult version specifically Young Link, from OoT and MM Toon Link Twilight Link, with the gimmick of transforming into Wolf Link & Midna Skyward Link Champion Link That would cover all the classic and toon games as well as the major console entries. However, that would reduce the amount of customization options per Link. Ocarina, Twilight, and Skyward could be combined together, but Champion Link has enough material to stand on his own.
  23. Considering the Seeds were arguably the true primary items of the Oracles, moreso than the Rod and Harp themselves, I'd be down with that. Perhaps they could be options for "Classic" Link? Although, they could always make "Item Inventory" Link's Shield Special gimmick, allowing him to change which item is assigned to his N Special on the fly similar to my suggestion for Mega Man to have Special Weapon switching. In which case, they could allow the player to customize Link's inventory.
