  1. I'd be cool with that too. Customizable clothing, weapons, colors, etc. I'm telling you folks, Smash 6 is going to be all about customization, whether as flexible as the custom fighter system I've suggested before or at least more flexibility in costumes, colors, specials, etc. We might lose Mii Fighters, but that's a small price to pay for customizable Link, Zelda, etc.
  2. I'd be all for it. Here's a list of costumes I'd suggest:
  3. Platformer and Metroidvania are my top genres. Anything Zelda-esque also gets my attention. I'll look at mascot racers, especially if they have a nice-sized roster, a good selection of vehicles and tracks, items, and lots of cool customization choices for drivers and vehicles. In theory, Smash-esque fighters would interest me, but they're so few and far between outside Smash itself, and the few we did get either don't interest me as much as Smash (DreamMix TV World Fighters, Turtles Smash Up) or fell drastically short of my expectations (PSASBR). But if they were to make a Smash-esque game with enough fighters, stages, items, etc. that I care about, I could see myself picking it up.
  4. I think the reason we're seeing so many now is because game systems are finally powerful enough to process vast 3D worlds with seamless exploration. Sandbox games have been around since at least the 6th gen of consoles with titles like Grand Theft Auto and Spider-Man, and if you really want to dig, the concept of an open world game goes all the way back to the original Legend of Zelda on NES. So really, what you're thinking of are 3D open world games with near boundless exploration a la Breath of the Wild. And that's really no different from when The Legend of Zelda inspired numerous other top-down real-time action adventure games on the NES and beyond. Any time a game becomes a success, it usually spawns a genre or subgenre of similar games. See Follow the Leader on TV Tropes for more examples. Open world games make sense; they're the most organic way to experience a world, giving you the ability to explore and interact with minimal interference from menus. Additionally, they give the player freedom to go where they want rather than have to sit through the same dozen cutscenes of dialogue in the same exact order again and again each time they play through the game. Compare Final Fantasy XIII, best known as the "Tube Game", for an example of the exact opposite. Now, if open world games aren't your cup of tea, I understand, but they're as much a genre as platformers, RPGs, or fighting games, and have been for a long time. Just seems strange to be sick of them when they've been around in some form or another since the NES. The 3D model we see today is simply the modern version of that. But at least there are plenty of games that aren't open world titles to turn to as alternatives.
  5. 🙋‍♂️ And loved it. Oh, wait, I thought you were referring to Samus Returns, the 3DS remake. I played Return of Samus, too, but I liked Samus Returns more.
  6. FPS. In particular, realistic FPS. Call of Duty clones just don't do it for me. I'm not a big fan of realistic graphics at all. I much prefer games with a stylized look. I also don't care for gore. I'd rather my foes explode into sparkly bits than buckets of blood. Sports, for the same reasons as FPS. EA Sports feels like the kind of game a stereotypical adult is expected to play, like when people dismiss the likes of Mario and Zelda as "kid's games" and tell you to go play Call of Duty and EA Sports 'cause those are "grown up" games. Bleh! Idle. The whole point of playing a game is to play it. If you want to just sit there and watch what's going on, that's what TV shows are for. And chances are you'll get more plot out of a TV show. Fighting, believe it or not. I really don't like traditional fighting games with multidirectional input commands, like Street Fighter. Learning my character's moveset shouldn't feel like doing school homework. I vastly prefer the Super Smash Bros. style of game with simple yet deep "direction + button" inputs which is all too rare outside of Smash itself.
  7. Here are some ideas: A new Kirby game centering around Kirby's birthday. Kirby's friends have gathered to throw a party for him out of thanks for everything he's done for Dreamland and beyond, but some old "friends" crash the party and put Dreamland in danger once again. Making matters worse, Kirby's friends have been brainwashed, forcing him to fight them in order to free them from the villains' control! Kirby sets out to save his friends and stop the villains, hopefully in time to get back and have cake! Essentially, this would be Star Allies 2, but with an Anniversary theme and more story relevance given to Kirby's Dream Friends. Kirby's New Air Ride, which features a vastly expanded range of playable characters. You can mix-and-match Riders and Air Rides. Each Rider has their own special ability or abilities; Kirby can of course copy powers from enemies, King Dedede can send opponents flying with his Hammer, Meta Knight slices and dices with his sword and soars through the air with his wings, Adeleine can splatter paint all over to blind opponents and make them slippery, etc. City Trial is expanded to Trial Maps, offering different locations with different layouts, including the original City Trial. KNAR features a story mode centering around the antagonistic Air Ride Network that conquers worlds by defeating their chosen champions in races, and then forces those champions to race for them. Now Pop Star is their next target, and Kirby is among those chosen to race for its freedom (along with King Dedede, Waddle Dee, Meta Knight, a few others...). A literal Kirby Party game, basically Mario Party but with Kirby and friends.
  8. Okay then. I think I have another girl to put in my top three as well: Iris from the Mega Man X series. She'll probably end up edging Zelda out. ^^; Maybe I'd better expand my list to a top five or ten...
  9. When I was listing my top three most attractive game girls above, I can't believe I didn't think of Primrose from Octopath Traveler. Much as I like Krystal, Primrose edges her out. I mean, just look at her! But I digress. This topic is about FF7R girls, not gaming girls in general. Tifa's still among my top 3 for the reasons I listed above.
  10. Wait, this is a trick question. Most fighters in Smash have a green costume of some kind. I assume we're referring to characters whose default color schemes are predominantly green?
  11. Zazz? Really? Don't get me wrong, I'd like to add Tails and Metal Sonic too. Along with Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Omega, Blaze, and maybe Cream and Big. Heck, I'd probably add Sally Acorn to that list if not for the fact she technically isn't a video game original. Left up to me, Smash would have more Sonic fighters in it than Smash 64 had fighters total, though I might group some of them into teams to save on roster space. The Hedgehog's supporting cast is just that good. That said, I just don't see why Eggman shouldn't be in? I mean, if someone doesn't want him, then they don't want him, but I find it hard to fathom not wanting one of video gaming's most iconic and popular villains in Smash when he has plenty of good material to offer in terms of moveset and music. Certainly more than Zazz.
  12. A temporary buffing system could work well. To use my Zelda example, there could be Elixirs you can purchase that temporarily buff your units, allowing them to compete with higher-rank units. Goron hero moving like a rock? Use a Speedy Elixir and make him fast as a boulder rolling downhill! Zora hero hitting like a limp fish? Use a Mighty Elixir and watch your spear rip through enemies like a school of ravenous piranha. And, as I suggested, you can also have a built-in weakening system that causes units to wear down over time. So even the new, shiny units will lose their edge until they are refreshed. This encourages using different units, even ones that may be weaker and thus wouldn't normally see use at all. Plus you can have challenges that encourage using weaker units to help gain currency that can be used to pull new batches, hopefully with rarer units. Units don't have to be perfectly balanced to be useful. In addition to powercreep, you also have rarity creep to keep an eye out for. CBAS rarity systems usually work pretty well, but when you start pushing into Ten-star Hyper-Mega-Ultra-Legendary-Mythic Rares, it starts getting ridiculous. Every level of rarity you add makes each level before it feel that much less meaningful and exciting. "Oh, a Mega-Rare? That's cool, but I was hoping for an Ultra-Rare". It's like when they introduced different levels of Super Saiyan in DBZ versus when Goku was the Super Saiyan. Less is more, as they say.
  13. Thank you. And yeah, Jessie's a catch too. Tifa, Aerith, Jessie...three beautiful brunettes in one game. Though Aerith is more cute and huggable than outright sexy like Tifa. Yeah, Tifa's actually quite slender and athletic, without overly-defined muscles.
  14. You know another series that could use a compilation collection? Final Fantasy I-VI, either in their original forms (with English translations in II, III, and V's cases) or enhanced for Switch with a graphical style similar to the PSP releases of I, II, and IV. Or, crazy idea, they remake all six games in HD 3D, keeping the more cartoony aesthetic while adding lavishly detailed textures and animations, perhaps voice acting as well. If they want to go even further, they can include style choices for each game, ranging from Original to Modern. I think I'll call this compilation... Final Fantasy Classic Collection For even more fun, what if there was a new subplot spanning all six games, featuring a band of heroes traveling between the worlds? Or you could have, say, six new bonus party members, one for each game, who hail from a seventh world to which they are trying to return and there reunite with each other, leading into a seventh story where the heroes of the other six worlds follow their new friends to their troubled home world and help them save it. Thus, Final Fantasy Classic Collection would be effectively a crossover as well as a compilation. The Seventh world would be designed around the fact the various heroes gathering to save it are presumably at endgame levels, making it a sort of postgame challenge akin to FFII's Soul of Rebirth. The Seventh World could feature enhanced versions of monsters from each of the six classic worlds, including bosses. There could even be team-ups or outright fusions, like the Four Fiends and Archfiends forming pairs based on element (Lich/Scarmiglione, Marilith/Rubicante, Kraken/Cagnazzo, and Tiamat/Barbariccia) or Astos combining with his lookalike from FFIV to create a larger, more powerful Dark Elf. We could see the heroes of the different games interact as well, like Yang and Sabin having a friendly sparring session with each other, or Leila and Faris sharing pirate stories. Guy and Lenna could bond over their shared affinity for animals. Firion could note how Kain reminds him of Ricard. Cecil could offer Leon advice on seeking redemption. Rydia could display fascination with Terra over the fact the former is a summoner and the latter a half-Esper (making her similar to an Eidolon). And of course Edgar would flirt with many of the women from other worlds, including Maria, Leila, Rosa, Rydia, Lenna, and Faris. What'd be really interesting, is seeing how the heroes of FFI fit in to the whole dynamic, since the player determines their jobs, names, etc. Perhaps different jobs get different reactions? Speaking of FF1, something I'd love to see is a sort of expansion remake that adds some concepts from later games like summons, job changing, Moogles, and Chocobos, as well as Gender/Race choices for your party members.
  15. Tifa, full stop. She's not only beautiful, she's curvy, she bares her midriff (and wow, what a midriff), she wears thigh high leggings on her long, shapely legs, she's kind, nurturing, and understanding...she's almost everything I could want in a female lead, physically and emotionally. The scene where she sets Cloud up with some accommodations in the motel? That's one of my favorite parts of the game. It's hard to explain why, but I just love it when a girl welcomes a guy and provides for him like that. Tifa is easily among the top three most attractive game girls to me, up there with Zelda and Primrose (not counting girls I've created for my own projects, anyway, and maybe even then).
  16. I think I once thought of something similar for a prospective Super Smash Bros. DS - Double Smashes, where two characters team up to attack. We already sorta have or had tag-team fighters in the form of Pokemon Trainer, Pyra & Mythra, and Zelda & Sheik, so yeah, I could see this working for the series. Only problem is that it's gonna dilute the gimmick that distinguishes the aforementioned fighters, but in Pokemon Trainer's case, it always felt weird that three different Pokemon shared damage, so this could be a good way to fix that. I'd be interested in seeing what kind of roster you'd come up with for such a game?
  17. What if units get weaker over time as you use them? You can refresh them either by pulling new copies, or by paying for a refreshment. The higher-level the unit, the more the refreshment costs (so, a C-rank unit could cost something like $1 or $2 while an S-Rank unit could cost $10). It might be a good idea to have the units slowly refresh over time as well, or have the refresh option automatically become available after a certain amount of time, basing the length on rank (C rank could be refreshed every few hours, while S-rank could be refreshed every few days). Additionally, you can have challenges that incentivize using different kinds of units on Daily, Weekly, and Monthly bases. Stuff like "Use ten different B-Rank characters this week". As a reward for meeting such challenges, you can gain currency used to pull more units. To put this in perspective, let's say you have a Zelda gacha game where you take on randomized Dungeons using a hero who you can equip with different weapons. The hero has stamina that depletes each time you play a dungeon with them, and their weapons have durability that wears down as you use the weapon. When the hero's stamina is depleted, they become slower and weaker until their stamina is able to recover. When weapons run out of durability, they become dull and need to be repaired. Heroes regain stamina over time, but you can refill their stamina instantly with an Energizing Elixir which can be brewed using ingredients found in the dungeons or purchased from the store. Weapons don't regain durability on their own, and must be repaired at the Blacksmith who has their own stamina. The stronger the weapon and the more repairing that needs to be done, the more stamina the Blacksmith expends, which means it will take longer before they can repair another weapon unless you're willing to give them one of your Energizing Elixirs to reenergize them. So, while better heroes and weapons would be released over time, they will wear down and become weaker than your lower-grade heroes and weapons with repeated use, prompting you to switch to other heroes and weapons unless you're willing to pay for Energizing Elixirs.
  18. I wish they'd included Xtreme 1 and 2 on the X Legacy collection; they could have moved X4 to Part 2 and had five games in each half. That said, a collection consisting of Mega Man I-V, Xtreme 1&2, and MM&B would be pretty sweet. IV and V in particular are praised for innovating the series some, IV for adding the shop to the series and V for experimenting with a set of bosses who aren't named "Something Man" as well as featuring a final boss that isn't Wily. X8 is actually regarded much better than X5, X6, or X7 as it fixed most of their issues, added the Navigators as female playable characters almost as good as their male counterparts, and subverted the usual "Hijacked by Sigma" plot with a final boss who instead hijacks the plot from Sigma himself. The main issue the X series faced after X5 was a lack of direction; X2, 3, and 4 all built up Sigma and Zero's significance in some way or another, culminating in X5's iconic and climactic showdowns, while 6, 7, and 8 are all rather disjointed in comparison. However, I can appreciate the fact that X6 expanded on Alia's character, as well as X8 following X7's introduction of Axl with the development of New Generation Reploids that feature advanced versions of his Chameleon Chip. I just didn't care for how X and Zero were redesigned in X8, and I'm relieved those designs didn't stick. I've been planning a MMX remake series with the intention of ironing out a lot of the original series' wrinkles, expanding the gameplay and scope to a large 3D world full of colorful characters, including many who are introduced earlier than in the original series. Each game is now split into three acts, each featuring its own set of eight Maverick bosses and a more detailed storyline.
  19. Hopefully, we'll see Shantae or Crash revealed for Smash. I'm also hoping for a new Spyro, since Crash has been getting the spotlight for a couple years now.
  20. Well if we could only have one I'd pick Francisca. She's the cutest and prettiest of the three. And she uses both an axe and ice magic, making her doubly novel.
  21. Dunno about how many times I died, but the first time I played through, I went Block Man > Fuse Man > Acid Man > Impact Man > Bounce Man > Tundra Man > Torch Man > Blast Man. At first I thought Block Dropper would beat Fuse Man, but once I realized otherwise I was able to figure out the rest of the cycle fairly easy.
  22. I co-op Classic with my bro, and we've managed some impressive runs with the following teams, including a couple 9.9 results: Chrom + Donkey Kong Sephiroth + Donkey Kong Sonic + Min Min But yeah, scoring perfects helps immensely. My brother and I once managed to gain +1.1 off a single fight by scoring a double perfect.
  23. Foxes Tails Braixen OR Delphox Krystal Xiaomu Rick (Fox N' Forests)
