Against my better decision, I decided that I was throw a few orbs at the banner to try for the Duo. Mostly because it didn't give me any greens on my free circle. On pull 4, it gave me Ascended Hilda whom I didn't have before - with a really good nature. This banner is absolutely telling me to just take this non-focus new 5-star and leave.

Yes, but he is a not conventionally attractive old man who bullies the cute dragon girl and has a backstory so difficult to learn that you need a guide to get that chapter. Without that extra bit of depth, he just comes off as a power hungry lunatic.

I dunno man. Objectively, it's an okay banner ... but Sacred Stones characters who are not Myrrh, Ephraim, Eirika, and Lyon (and Tana) exist. Also, I'm not super happy about Selena being on this banner. It's fine for her to get alts, but she was also the only one of Grado's generals to have an alt to begin with. Kind of like how Ursula is the only Black Fang member to get seasonal alts. I wonder why. (Yes, I know Fallen Linus exists.) Kinda wish Selena had just been Fado so we could have double parent action or something. Also oh boy, now we're getting inheritable pre-combat damage weapons. Don't think I really like this, don't have the orbs to try to pick one up for Tormod at the moment. Lyon and Eirika duo isn't - bad - per say, but considering that they wasted the twins' and Lyons' duo/harmonic slots all on each other, it's a bit of a bummer that they'll never get harmonics where they get to interact with characters outside their own game, or with other characters from their own game who aren't each other. On the bright side, since Eirika is the backpack I don't feel nearly as obligated to pull for her right now.

... Is it bad that I forgot Hero Fest went up today until I saw the post above me, lol. Although, I apparently got a free Legendary Veronica from it so I guess it's not all bad! I finished off my spark from the fallen banner. The last circle hilariously gave me my first Anankos, but I ended up sparking another one because he was -spd. So I got a merge for fallen f!Byleth and my first Anankos, and an extra for fodder. I guess I have technically achieved the bare minimum I wanted here.

This makes zero sense. If I am deploying Ash in my VG matches then I can't take Henriette. And if I'm not deploying Henriette and not getting the bonus points for deploying her then I'd just use someone else.

Wow, this year's AHR picks all look pretty damn good.

When it comes to the VG specifically, I feel that (with some occasional exceptions) people choose the more powerful unit over the character they may like more. Especially if they're not overly passionate about any of the characters in the gauntlet.

It's kind of sad that there are a lot of characters in the game who are mothers and yet I don't care for any of the ones they picked here. Ended up going with Henriette because I couldn't think of anyone else (and Alfonse won CYL) but I kind of regret it because she's an armor and can't really do much on the maps. Also she apparently had less hour 1 total points than Ymir, which was a bit surprising but only a little.

How the fuck did I miss Leonardo lol

@GuiltyLove I'm almost certain I attacked her, mostly because I was afraid to let her attack me and risk killing one of my units and forcing me to restart the entire map. EDIT: I could be remembering wrong, but I think I had Ratatoskr attack her to lower her HP and then my Rearmed Reinhardt did just enough damage to KO her?

Apparently the full results are out. Also, unless I miscounted wrong (which is completely possible), apparently the top 3 Tellius units not in the game are Stefan, Tormod (!!!), and Edward. In that order. There were a few other Tellius characters above them, but I skipped the ones who already have a base form.

I beat this map on abyssal with Rearmed Reinhardt, Ratatoskr, Harmonic Azura, and Legendary Guinevere. No, I don't know how I managed it. Cleaning up all the generic enemies on the map wasn't overly difficult, but man Marth's fucking damage reduction effect is just bonkers. I just used Reinhardt to hit him as much as possible and run out of his range. Lumera was even harder, because of her DC effect. For a moment I thought I was going to lose because no one could damage her without dying, but somehow I was able to have someone attack her and survive, and then finish her off. It might've been Ratatoskr overriding her divine vein effect that did the trick, but I'm not sure.

Well, after several weeks of deciding whether I should pull red on the anniversary and take the risk of all the demotes, I just didn't get red at all. So I pulled colorless. My anniversary freebie was Nerthuz, who ... well, she is new sure but damn I really wish I could exchange her for someone on colorless I actually wanted, like Elise+Sakura. EDIT: On the bright side, NY!Hrid is new and I got the nature for Annand I wanted. And Nerthuz is a new unit, so it's still better than getting a dupe.

If Fallen Edelgard somehow gets into the VG again, it's probably a sign at this point that people are doing it on purpose just to troll. Winter Edelgard would make more sense to get into VG at least because she is new and powerful. That said, if she ends up being our freebie, I'll just put her in the reserve barracks and forget she exists.

I'd prefer getting Ferdinand or Mercedes for 3H winners if we had to have more of them, with the acknowledgement that I don't think I really care about anyone from 3H anymore. That said, I wouldn't be super upset with m!Byleth at this point because the Byleths are literally the same character and it should be both or neither. I can't agree that f!Byleth being considered "sexier" by certain parts of the fanbase should mean her winning and the male never doing so when they are identical otherwise. I feel like I wouldn't dislike 3H nearly as much if I didn't feel like it was guilty of falling into the same trap as all the other games with an avatar. Specifically, I think 3H is just as bad as Fates is when it comes to bending over backwards to make you feel like you're on the "righteous side" even when you choose the aggressor, never letting that path fell the consequences for their actions, and I guess I'm concerned that we're going to get more of IS-failing-to-write-split-paths-and-failing-harder-at-being-morally-gray. I actually did like Engage better than 3H too, even if I acknowledge it was laughably bad in all of its story and most of its characterization.

I legitimately don't know what power 3H holds over the FE fanbase as a whole. Whatever charm 3H is supposed to have apparently missed its mark with me and it doesn't really help that I don't particularly like any of the winners so farm, lol. Between Reinhardt and Tormod getting tanked in the rankings because of bad timing, Alfred scoring far lower than I thought, Celine not even being in the top 20 for women, and 3H still taking half the winning slots, this is almost the worst timeline for me. I say "almost" because I'm actually okay with Alfonse winning. At this point, when we are 8 books in and the only consistent character with actual character, he deserves it. Far more than Gullveig did at least. F!Robin does nothing for me, honestly, but at least she's getting a main pool version now.

I have a somewhat neutral stance on Bernadetta, where I neither like her nor dislike her. Actually, I did like a few of her supports with various people (Felix being one of them), but I wasn't big on the direction they took for her character in a lot of other things. My issue is probably less with Bernadetta herself and more that I feel like she's popular for what I feel are the "wrong" or at least "questionable" reasons, if some of the reasons I've heard for people liking her really are true. In all fairness, I felt the same way about Marianne who just came off as obnoxious to me. Having to deal with people like her IRL made Marianne a very unappealing character for me, and Bernadetta was kind of there at times too. Felix is ... fine, I guess. I'm just not super big on his archetype and wasn't super thrilled with Soren's win last year either.

Felix and Bernadetta wouldn't have been my top choices for 3H winners. I'd have been happier if Ferdinand was there, but whatever. Maybe Alfred will get his chance another year. I'm not even going to hope for Celine ... I don't think she was in top 20 for the women's division.

... You know what, I'm fine with Alfonse winning CYL. And I guess that's all that I really care about. Also, it's kind of hilarious that there are no Engage characters here at all. I guess f!Robin got catapulted by Chrom, Lucina, and Robin-in-general fans, although I will confess to being slightly annoyed that m!Byleth and m!Corrin can't win after their female counterparts but f!Robin gets it the next year. Yeah, I figured that neither he nor his default weapon are amazing at this point but I wanted to try to keep him with his default weapon since he wouldn't be a very heavily invested unit. I think the build with ruptured sky/moonbow and finish 4 with time's pulse 4 looks similar to something I was thinking about, so I'll most likely go with that one. Thanks.

So, I got my first copy of Saber ever through the arena tickets and ... good grief, how do I even build him if I want to keep him with Golden Dagger? I'm not sure where to even start. Do I want special spiral on him so he can keep spamming special attacks and DC? Do I just get rid of the defensive specials that he comes with? His default skills are just ... bad.

Well, I ended up getting Tormod. And a Fallen Lilith right before him. And a Letizia on the same circle as him. Of course that happens on a seasonal banner where I can't use focus charge.
