mafia vig should've never been a thing for the first season. and the fact that people tried to justify it still baffles me two years later.

So I read the thread and saw that some sites are actually excited to be invited to this and then realized like almost all our nominations are troll, and I felt kinda bad. Godamn it euk!

I will volunteer again on the sole condition that we don't want to be invited next year and I can just go troll everybody.

I meant to ask this earlier, but do I get a prize for not getting lynched after that d4 bullshit. Also since I won't be playing again for at the very least a year I'm gonna post something that basically explains how and why I play the way I do. Now this was in response to boron suggesting I pretend to completely forget the incident from day 4, just to put it into context. Most people however know that I am always a late day1 wagon regardless of alignment, unless im the SK and Marth wants to nigh kill me . The difference is that this is usually intentional as scum, if you look back at my scum games I generally make an aggressive move day 1 that makes people focus on me, where as people just like to lynch me as town. However I personally feels it's easy to tell the difference between my town and scum meta starting day 2. As scum I'm prone to lurking and coasting after day which is explained a little bit in the spoiler. As town I play slightly more rationally and actually have well thought out reads. I mean the last time I signed up for a game and rolled town was School of Hard NOC's 2, I think, I know I've subbed into town a few times but I've put like no effort into most of those games except for arkham, which I refuse to talk about. I don't know I just feel like my scum meta is pretty obvious and since it won't matter anymore I thought I might as well explain it a bit.

The problem was Michelear didn't exist, so if you wanna say he's scummier what do you base it on. Do you just say SB is towny so let's lynch Michelear, because not lynching according to scum reads it's an early game PoE. Also I would agree about the reaction test thing but SF generally hates reaction tests.

nope. to explain it a bit better, town should never say something like his case was a bad idea, town should say the case was bad and then explain why it was bad. now in a scum chat a line like "that case wasn't a good idea" may come up, which was the basis of the case.

now here's an interesting question for every body based on something mitsuki said in kirby mafia. i'm just gonna paraphrase but mitsuki can correct me if im wrong. anyways the post basically said that a vote's sole purpose is for scumhunting, however i find my self disagreeing. i feel that a vote and the lynch in particular should be considered much in the same way as mafia's night kill. that is to say the vote should be used in a way that is designed to put town into the most advantageous position. "but randa whats more advantageous than lynching scum", in all honesty not a whole lot. however kirby also presented me with an interesting example of the weight of a vote and showed in my opinion why people need to consider their vote as something more than just slapping it on the scummiest person. take for example the case of SB the SK and michelear. now town is upset that SB was the SK, well maf was thrilled he was as we got a free mislynch out of the whole thing. however looking at it from a purely objective standpoint, that is to say i know nothing about the situation aside from there being a claim that SB and michelear. i propose that the correct answer in this situation is to lynch SB regardless of reads. the reason is the strength of the player. no offense to michelear but SB is a significantly stronger player, he is in my opinion one of the best and most consistent players on the site. so why then would town want to lynch SB when he isnt guaranteed to be scum. the reason in my opinion is pretty simple, if SB is mislynched and he was town then it is an absolute and town loses one of its better players, but the game itself was filled with relatively strong and experienced players so the loss of SB wouldn't have been as bad as letting scum SB live, regardless of whether he was SK, 2/3/4 man mafia team member. now it was fortunate that there was a masshook in the game, and i dont really remember if this was claimed day 2 or not. now if michelear were scum, their impact would be considerably less than scum!SB and they would pose a minimal threat, this however goes both ways as they aren't likely to contribute to town to the same degree as SB would. now considering this i feel the risk versus reward in this specific scenario wasn't worth the risk of leaving SB alive. where as there is no real risk or reward for keeping michelear alive, keep in mind their content was minimal at the time of lynch. now obviously this is an opinion on a very specific example, but i think it helps to make the point of why i'm asking this question. what is the true weight and value of a vote? should it be used purely on the scummiest person or should it be used more to put town in the best position? "but randa what if it's a gambit?", who on the site, besides myself, would even think to attempt this as a gambit let alone have the balls to follow through. and even then you won't have to worry about me attempting something like this for reasons that will become clear once prims officially ends kirby.

also a brief summary of the situation rn, regardless of whether or not refa's mayor works in *ylo variants a mislynch wins us the game. its 5/3 we get a mislynch its 4/3 we kill town, marth or refa, its 3/3, parity is achieved but if refa's mayor still works we dont win. games either over or 3/2 we kill refa, its 2/2 we win

sure. if kirsche or eli were proposed as the mislynch then scum wouldn't be able to quick hammer and this game would've significantly more difficult for scum to win. if we were to lynch eli or kirsche then its not a guaranteed win for scum and it comes down to night actions and priorities. basically if marth bit the bullet for whoever was targeted, which is a 50-50 in this situation, as both mitsuki and refa are essential for town to make the comeback, then town wins. mitsuki would loverize two scum , then since we never recieved confirmation about whether or not mayor worked during *ylo variants, it is possible refa could have vote control and be able to double ko two scum members giving town vote control regardless of whether or not refa was still alive. since a quickhammer would have started all of this off it would be obvious who all the scum members are and town would win. however even if marth were to guess wrong, there is the matter of priorities where if mitsuki's loverize shot has a higher priority to the night kill scum is put in a chance where there is only a 33% chance of winning. In short he could only safely quickhammer refa and mitsuki, and couldnt quick hammer kirsche or eli at all.

idk about Marth doc'ing Refa I mean did anybody think scum would kill the cop of questionable sanity. I mean personally I would've killed somebody like me, Kirsche, or mitskui maybe Eli just to create more confusion and throw off everybody's reads in a situation where town has to be certain and correct if we wanna win. I mean I think Marth is probably scum just off of PoE at this point, but I don't think we should be voting anybody until we're certain.
