Assumed that a character that I thought was a boy was a girl. (Holy grows, did I get this sentence right?)

It looks pretty gramatically correct, yeah.

OOF!

Karla was massively buffed in Heroes, so I do think that she'll get buffed in a remake.

What makes it worse is that Karla does show up earlier (in a Hector mode exclusive chapter), and her stats would have been more suited to joining in that chapter instead of three chapters from the end of the game.

Will know that Dynamax is liable to get banned in National Dex OU.

Introduce new mechanic. New mechanic gets banned. *slow clap*

To be fair, it is a completely busted mechanic. You get doubled HP, your moves are powered up into Max Moves with powerful effects that are guaranteed to activate (in general, clicking a non-damaging move is a momentum sink because you run the risk of getting Taunted, among other issues. The main reason why U-Turn and Volt Switch are so popular is that they do damage while switching out. Also of note, Power-Up Punch, which despite its low power, broke Mega Kangaskhan. Or Contrary, which makes Serperior into a huge threat, as one move lets it get to +2 while doing damage. All this being said, Max Moves break all these rules; they have high base power, absurd effects, and they're usable by everyone. A base 130 power move that sets beneficial terrain? Busted. A base 130 power move that also sets beneficial weather at the same time? Busted. Max Airstream? Super busted.), and you get immunity to some effects, like Encore and Choice lock (the main balancing factor of Choice items is that they have a huge opportunity cost, that being you're locked into whatever move you first use, which means you have to predict right to get use out of them. Ergo, if I have a Specs Tapu Lele, and my opponent predicts Psychic and sends in Greninja, normally I've lost all momentum and am forced to switch out while the opponent does whatever. Dynamaxing means I can instead stay in and use Max Starfall, which means that the Greninja player loses momentum instead despite the fact that they made a good prediction and I didn't.), phazing (e.g. Whirlwind), etc. Sure, Z-Moves and Mega Evolutions might have been overpowered, but they required you to devote your item slot to them, meaning I cannot change my Mega or Z-Move mid-battle. On the other hand, Dynamax can be used by ANY Pokemon. This means that there's a lot more Dynamax abusers than can be reasonably prepared for, which has negative implications on teambuilding, as while one might prepare for common abusers of Dynamax, the opponent could just Dynamax something else instead.

TL;DR Dynamaxing was too overpowered to leave unbanned, because it promoted snowball gameplay. Ditto was about the only good answer to it, Which, of course, also suggests it's problematic.

Ayup. Note that all that was in the context of OU; it was even worse in UU (where there's no Ditto) and Little Cup (where most mons would already have +1 in both defenses). And National Dex OU just makes things even worse, since that means stuff like the Ultra Beasts are a thing. Moxie Gyarados was bad enough (in case you don't know, Moxie gives an attack boost after attacking and KOing an opposing Pokemon). NatDex OU has stuff like Kartana, which is Moxie Gyarados on steroids, as it has higher speed and attack, AND its ability is Beast Boost, which boosts its highest stat after KOing an opposing Pokemon (in Kartana's case, it's Attack. Meaning it uses Max Knuckle and gets a Swords Dance off while blasting a hole in the opposing team. Or uses Max Airstream and gets a Dragon Dance off while punching a hole in the opposing team at the same tIme). Or Magearna, which can do much the same thing, because its ability is in the same vein as the aforementioned Moxie, except for Special Attack. At any rate, the alternative would have to ban all the Pokemon that were broken with Dynamax. Which would have been a lot. And even then, odds are it'd become apparent that the real problem is Dynamax. Which reminds me, Generation 5 had a similar problem, except it was rain that was completely broken, and Smogon had to declare it illegal to use Drizzle and Swift Swim on the same team to stop Rain from being dominant (note that this was during the time where the weather brought on by weather abilities was permanent).
