General Horace Posted February 25, 2012 Author Share Posted February 25, 2012 Ok due to tremendous strategical prowess I defeated chapter 15 [spoiler=Chapter 15]Units Deployed - Marth, Shiida, Cain, Abel, Jeigan, Ogma, Barst, Lena, Hardin, Wendall, Minerva, Beck, Jake, Catria, Palla, Jeorge Marth - ran across the desert to the throne like a pussy Shiida, Minerva, Catria, Palla - Cleared out the mages on the way to the throne for Marth Lena - was used a Gharnef meatshield Jake and Beck - killed dracoknights everyone else - nothing Anyway, Chapter 15 really isn't too bad. If you make sure you can't get tag teamed on the EP, you'll be fine in this chapter. Player Phase combat is pretty important here. Haha Gharnef still sucks in H5 see, mr generic mage has more magic them him. What a terrible unit. Speaking of magic, this map is littered with these dudes that do 26 damage to your unpromoted, non pegasi/magic units, so uh watch those low HP dudes. Everybody is going to be 2HKO'd here. then there are these silly guys that fly around and try to hurt you with javelins. They really aren't too bad. I don't know why I showed this, because this is a waste of a pure water, she's 2HKO'd with and without it. Anyway, some blue haired Pegasus knight needs this pure water to avoid being OHKO'd by generic mages Palla: 1 Catria: 0 OHKO's are nice on these guys, since healing is only avaliable via vulnerary or Physic staves on this map. :) Palla: 2 Catria: 0 I forgot to mention this earlier, but you can use Parthia as a 20 use pure water for Jeorge if you don't want to attack with it for some reason Fine example of a +4 MT arrowspate forge, OHKO'ing those pesky dracoknights. I stronly recommend forging at least +10 hit as well, I would have myself, but I'm an asscake and hit forge instead of adding hit when I was experimenting with using my mouse as a DS stylus... This strategy of letting a powerful dark lord beat on a helpless little cleric while men like Barst and Ogma hide behind her and Marth runs to the throne is the epitome of brilliance. Honestly though, this is probably one of the safest ways of doing this chapter (warpskipping aside) This armoury has some nice weapons, check it out! I'd want you to do an HHM playlog because you said you were an FE7 expert, thus it'd be more interesting than a game you don't really know too well. But that's just me. General Horace Posted March 17, 2012 Author Share Posted March 17, 2012 i remember vaguely thinking about doing a Samson or Arran poll but realizing how useless it would have been [spoiler=Chapter 16]Units Deployed: Marth, Shiida, Cain, Ogma, Barst, Lena, Hardin, Wendall, Minerva, Beck, Jake, Catria, Palla; Samson; Xane I've decided not to do the "which unit does what thing" since I more or less explain what happened below and I'm lazy. General Notes: chapter 16 is a chapter you want to play quickly. the longer you elongae the chapter, the more you will be overwhelmed. I suppose you could wall yourself in Xane's cell with two generals on either side, but that's boring. Also, make sure to save Samson/Arran from that pesky thief! random sentimental moment from earlier in life from horace I remember when I first played this stage, I thought this scene was the best one in the game, the music and the writing at this scene is my favourite in the game. Too bad I don't like the chapter very much as a whole. I am far too lazy to look up the specifics, but these guys (the dracoknight right next to him has a forged ridersbane) OHKO your mounted units without much of an effort. 52 attack against horses is absolutely lethal. Draw him in with a Hero or general or dracoknight or something. This boss has the potential to be a massive douchebag, Hammer!Barst couldn't even OHKO this guy, and risks being OHKO'd in return (I think). Thankfully, Shiida has very high luck, and if you shove marth nearby for supports, she's likley face no crit chance. Speaking of Barst, he promoted. As did Lena, as I just realized "oh fuck I stopped using Merric and Wendall might not be able to kill Gharnef very well" so I'll try to get her to D tomes and arms scroll her On turn 1, I warp Marth to these villages, so I can jsut charge south with the rest of my team (until I was stupid and forgot to give them a means to open the door, so I waited for Marth in the end anyway). oh yeah I forged a Rapier for fun and fucked up the naming process by accident. oh well. This was most definately burning money for fun. I recruited Samson for no reason whatsoever, him and Arran are both pretty bad, but at last Arran is a flying Ridersbane. Samson's speed is actually ok for H5, but his strength and durabilty are pretty poor, and never get much better. my great plan backfired, and this guy went after Marth, despite being able to get within one space of Barst. Oh well. I lure him back over with Ogma or somebody. If you haven't killed the boss don't be near these starting on turn 11. Some very threatening enemies pop up without warning. I forgot to actually show it, but Beck and Jake killed the fortify curate, since they are the most annoying things ever. Also, this is a perfect level up for a ballistician, as HP, Speed and Defence are useless. Fourtunatly, my ineptitude paid off, (in forgetting to give somebody a door key) and these 4 dudes started to chase after Marth. The general also went after him. This made the chapter a lot less painful, so it's probably a good idea to lure these guys away with a flier or something! fucking xane, his AI pisses me off so much. Now that all the bows are gone, Shiida is free to fly across and take out the three guys here (she should survive if she got a robe). oh I forgot about him, actually. He's a very very good unit in H5, he can give you two Barsts, three ballisticians, or another fortify user. He's pretty amazing. stronly recommended. oh look cavaliers, better use that ridersbane forge on a flying unit, good thing she OHKO's Palla: 3 Catria: 0 so I skip the part where Marth walks to the throne and Shiida kills the boss, but I use Barst to block a chokepoint here from the oncoming enemies, if you're using a General, they make the ideal blockade if you're chokepointing. Now that i've benched Abel, Hardin decides to act like him. One of the armouries here is pretty nice, with Silvers all around, (although I'm none too fond of silvers) if you roll that way, pick some up.
