Exactly! Hell I do this in other games besides fire emblem as well. Like limiting myself to using the weakest equipment and such.

In regards to what they said about difficulty, I say that any game is easy if you abuse the features in it. Most of those features were put in to make it easier for casuals. It doesn't mean we have to use them.

I'm gonna say that the artists were more motivated than the actual game programmers for this game. I know a little bit about this myself so I am still astonished that they were to lazy to fix this games growth rates. All you would have to do is find the part in the game's file containing her base stats and growths and just delete and change some numbers. It's incredible that they can't even do that. Imagine if they assigned just one guy to look at all the characters stats and see who needs nerfing and who needs a boost?! Literally you could prob balance out most of this game in a day if you wrote down everything wrong with each character and did some calculations to see what would help them out without making them overpowered.

Shit. I meant the elite ring. For some reason I always get those two mixed up. Probably cause of Lex having both a hero axe/elite as a skill. I sometimes call his axe the elite axe.

I always play them both. Assassin marisa and swordmaster joshua for me as well. Besides there stats are both great at level 20/20. Unlimited amounts of roids solve any problem for both of them! I voted for marisa though just because everybody in this topic has a hat fetish. Marisa's legs need some love to! Also to all those that find recruiting Marisa tough... shame on you. You use the same strategy you would for recruiting joshua. Keep the unit in range to talk to her and have someone else lure her to that unit. Unequip a high defense/hp unit like seth and let her run up and attack him. Then have Gerik talk to Marisa... See look how simple that was!

Pairings I have done: Aira/Lex - Awesome pairing. Nuff said. Aira/Noishe - This one is pretty good as well though I feel elite makes lex the better father. He is just a pain to use due to lack of pursuit in first gen as well. Aideen/Jamka - Its a good pairing. But don't give Lester the pursuit ring. Give him the elite ring instead. You want to pass the hero ring down to someone in the first chapter and since Jamka/Lester doesn't have Pursuit I consider him the best option for it. Sell it to someone else upon promotion. Jamka's killer and the hero he gets will suffice for all of the second gen and make sure he gets a skill ring as well. Rana has aideen's staves and will do a good job as a healer. Aideen/Midir - The problem with this pairing is Midir in first gen. He blows. The second gen is great for both Lester and Rana though. They both have pursuit and well balanced stats. Same equip as Jamka just he doesn't need any rings. Beowulf/Lachesis - I love this pairing because it is simple to make and it gives me two great kids offensively. Fin/Lachesis - Lack of swords hurts Delmud but you can still pass other stuff down to him. Nanna loves the speed boost from the conversation she has with fin. Screw prayer. Azel/Lachesis - I am gonna try this pairing someday. Sylvia/NO ONE! - Laylea and Sharlow have better skills. Fury/Levin - Pass down the power ring/hero spear to fee to make up for her 25% strength growth. Heck have fury kill the boss carrying the power ring that way she can make use of it through all of first gen. That's about the only problem I have with the pairing. Oh and make sure to get the +5 strength boost from the convo in chapter 10. No point in talking about Sety. Fury/Claude - I like fighters more than healers but this is still a pretty great pairing offensively if you are pairing Levin up with someone else. You can still make fee a powerhouse with a +50 kill hero spear and a power ring so the skill setup is exactly the same for her. Sety is awesome with either levin or claude as a father. You can pass reserve down to Sety so he will be your best healer. Azel/Tiltyu - A good pairing. Run around the map at under half health with a wind tome destroying everyone with wrath/pursuit. Also build up a +50 kill tome for both kids that way so there crit is even higher. Levin/Tiltyu - A good pairing as well. Tinny wants the pursuit ring. You got wrath+crit here and both kids have great skill stats so you will soon have a 70% chance of critting the enemy at half health. Arthur has holsety in the FIRST chapter to make up for lack of pursuit. Remember it costs 1,000 gold per use! Holyn/Bridget - Best pairing for these two kids in my opionion. With this patty starts with a B in swords and you can pass down a hero sword to her. She lacks pursuit though so you wanna get her a pursuit ring. Moonlight Sword drastically improves patty's offense. A power ring would help her as well. Faval has the skill to properly wield the Ichival. And a ridiculous hp stat to boot. Give him a killer bow and a hero bow so he doesn't have to rely solely on the Ichival.

Usually 10-12 though it can be higher depending on what units I am using in her story and what units I plan to use after her story. I like to keep a well balanced team.

I'll be buying it tomorrow at gamestop hopefully. Knowing them though the shipment will not have arrived in time.

This topic is dedicated to Minerva and all those that loved her official artwork then looked at her stats. At least she has the AXE! I still plan on using her. I guess I'll just have to ... give her some roids... and reset for maximum stat gain when necessary. Tell me if you plan on using her yourself come tomorrow. Or any other character who is sucky. I plan on using all of the women myself. Then again I always do that...

I finally got off my lazy ass and decided to join these boards since I got a warning on gamefaqs and there is no good topics to post in. Some of you probably know me from Game Faqs as HectorGreatGen. For those who don't know me already I enjoy heated debates about fire emblem characters/stages/tactics... ad naseum. I also have a tendency of going inactive for large periods of time due to boredom. I already pre-ordered fire emblem shadow dragon (along with star ocean 4) and I've played every fire emblem game so far but 1-3. I love fire emblem games and I love turning weak useless units into fighting demi-gods. I enjoy anime and video games. I am currently annoyed at the moment though since my rom of fire emblem 4 crapped out on me earlier today. Anyway howdy and hopefully we get along well!
