  1. Maybe it's just me, but even against enemies with the lowest resistance, units like Clarine have 40, maaaaabye 50% at best. This is really poor, I have to say. Even when the sleep staff is important - like in Douglas's chapter - you can't really benefit from all the buffs of the sleep staff since one major issue - poor user's magic - cancels all other advantages out. This is how I experienced the sleep staff in this game. Once Niime is there, I can agree that the sleep staff can be really decent. FE9 is another game I never really used any status affecting staff, simply there never has been a situation when it's needed. Chapter 26 might be a decent chapter for the sleep staff since it's a open map with enemies coming of all directions who can surround. In FE10, Micky would love it. Berserked Ike in 3-13 would be hilarious, if he killed Soren.
  2. Haven't played FE3. Didn't expect the NES games featured that modern things. I'm kinda curious why staves in FE6 shall be that good since the staff users have really poor magic, so poor accuracy. I find them the worst of all GBA parts although they could have the biggest use if they had the accuracy.
  3. I didn't know until like 23. Now it's pretty much the only genre I'm playing right now.
  4. Holy Moly...... this has turned a five today. This were times when I was a FE nerd. Things have been changed, it's funny. Seriously I'm glad I discovered other series in the last half decade. Though it doesn't mean I wouldn't play another Fire Emblem hack sometime in the future.
  5. Since I am a big fan of these, I must be honest they have almost no practical uses in some FE games. They are only really amazing im Jugral simply they cannot miss due to its own formula. In Conquest the freeze staff is a lifesaver too. Though in most other games (can't speak about the first three parts), I hardly ever used them. Many people would bring Douglas, but even hitting him was a pain in the ass. Playing a weak sword user in his range was the better option. FE10 has one chapter where the sleep staff is useful, 3-13. Ike can be put asleep which makes it easier to beat the chapter before 15 turns are passed. You get a silence staff once it's pretty much irrelevant by fighting mainly enemies with a high resistance.
  6. ...I just figured out what body pillow is. Ryza has one!? I want it!
  7. Apparently CSIV for Switch isn't a joke after all. Ooohhhhhh...
  8. Today is puni-day. That was my puni, bwahahahaha
  9. Think to go for Lulua first since it's a Switch game and I have played it further than Sophie yet. I expect each further Atelier game will disappoint me.
  10. I finished Ryza. It was a gender neutral game for me.
  11. Ryza's epilogue was pretty almost as long as Cold Steel's, just without a cliffhanger. It was a great introduction into this series. I really enjoyed the game. Surely not as epic as Xenoblade 2, but still a very good game. Definitely more enjoyable than Smash and Three Houses. Have to decide if to play Sophie or Lulua as next Atelier game next.
  12. Finished Atelier Ryza. It was my first Atelier game. I really enjoyed it. Characters cast, plot, graphics, soundtrack and especially the game were really fun. The alchemy system was easier to understand than Sophie's and I got really obsessed with it at time. The battle system was new to me, but I got used to it quickly and was fond of it. Also little side games like feeding Puni or damage training on a veasal were cool ideas. I have to admit the main game was rather short and the simulation part in terms of doing alchemy had almost as much priority as the RPG part, but as for someone like me who likes simulations, it did not bother me at all. I know Ryza got very positive criticsm, even the best of all Atelier games as far as I know, but it wouldn't stop me from playing the other parts. For someone who want to get introduced into Atelier, I can absolutely recommend it. It was not the best JRPG I have played yet, but a very good one overall. 8.5 / 10
  13. I made the post final boss stuff. Synthesizing that core was a pain in the ass because I did not get how to make the wind shoes flyable. Had to watch a guide for that. Thanks! Actually it's been the first game of 2020 I have completed yet. I promise to get better! Going to focus on Zero now.
  14. Both have skill issues early on, so they need a skill ring or scroll which improves skill growth. Tina has her thief staff which is just awesome. Though she needs levels fast to reach the magic in time to steal the best weapons Like dire thunder. Linoan can use resire, so she can work as enemy phase unit, if she can take a physical hit. If she can, she'll be an awesome noferatu-tank. Though not placing her in range of enemies who can double her. Resire is heavy and tomes have no weapon weight buffer. Both have their uses and since it's FE5 where staves are phenomenal and fatigue exists, you can never get enough of staff users.
  15. If Kaga didn't exist, FE10 wouldn't exist as it does. Tellius and FE of today as a whole is based on Thracia 776. It does not only feature one time mechanics, but also mechanics which stayed permanently like all the mission objectives aside of seize.
  16. Beaten Atelier Ryza! At least main story. Will give a detailed review later.
  17. After like a half decade... I finally have the opportunity to make advertisement for Thracia again. I really missed these times... Still have to play Super Thracia once I have the time and finished some started games. The patch has been finished just recently.
  18. I have no idea, if healing skills can miss in any other RPG aside of FE5. Regardless missing heal isn't even a big thing except in like one map, chapter 3, when Safiya joins. And then you don't need her for that because vulneraries exist which recover all HP. Sure, successful healing could save the one or other turn, but it's not gamebreaking at all. You have enough healers later on (early promoted Asbel, Schroff, Sarah) who have enough stats to heal reliably. In chapter 4 and 4x you don't even have a healer, so much for that. I'm not gonna lie, FE6 is even worse because this game relies on healing since vulneraries have way worse effect and staff users have abysmal magic. That's even more bothering than having a missed heal. FE6 is like two steps back anyways.
  19. Actually it's a good way to train units like Tina. On the down side units tend to get fatigued faster because missed staff also counts as an action. Though it's worth, to get some fatigued, if they can get some levels in return. I had staff users who had more than twice as much action points as HP, so the fatigue doesn't hurt as much as someone who barely surpassed HP. Chapter 8 is like the easiest chapter, so Asbel is not needed at all die it. Though if Sarah gets fatigued after chapter 24, and you're out of stamina drinks, then RIP Eyvel. I wished stamina drinks would be also obtainable in lategame. They only exist till chapter 14x which kinda sucks. And in 14x it's not easy to get all the drinks.
