  1. I got GHWT+Guitar with my 360. It got boring pretty soon but I've been playing again with GH5 out. The songs load fast, like two second-fast, and it's got Sultans of Swing. Looks like it supports WT DLC too. I've only got the free ones but I finally managed to 5* Electro Rock on Expert. Speaking of WT there's some half-finished import feature that gets you one third of WT songs for a price. I'm so lazy I would pay for not having to swap discs if it supported the songs I really liked to play from WT but it's missing too many..
  2. So basically you're suggesting they have B by 18B? 45 turns next to each other during 16x and 17B? Straying that far? Not necessarily. If you're bringing Cecilia to 16x she will have her hands full healing. And the enemies (sniper magic) probably won't be attacking Douglas.
  3. I have no idea what you mean by meaty portions so I can't say how much off your B estimate is but even characters with same move can't get one level of support worth 15 turns in a single chapter. With 8 and 5 it's just unheard of.
  4. "By what chapter will he have those bonuses and will it be too late to matter?"
  5. I am also of the opinion that credit should not be given for recruiting units, but I do think the person recruiting should be given credit for the inventory the new unit comes with and I find this case to be more in line with that. It's not a playable character she digs up.
  6. Yes you do. You're using her by moving her to get the ring. Alternatively you can choose to move her elsewhere and not receive the ring. I was hoping, for your sake, that I didn't have to spell this out for you but I guess I was too optimistic. -They don't in Chapter 3. You use Chad or you leave the shit in chests right there. Chad gets credit for said shit and it should be pretty obvious. -This isn't FEDS. You don't have infinite money at the beginning. Buying multiple chest keys is outright dumb when you have perfectly usable thieves. -This isn't FEDS. Chad and Astol are both not shitty combat units. Unlike Armors, right? -This isn't FEDS. Your thieves can actually STEAL things. In fact the best way to get chest keys early on is stealing them in Chapter 8. You'll still need to buy one set at Chapter 7 though. Let's drive this point one more time. Thief utility exists in this game (unlike in FEDS). Hey since I got started let's push it to limit. Walk along the razor's edge, right? -This isn't FEDS. Barth isn't Wolf. -This isn't FEDS. Knight's Crest isn't a scenario similiar to Master Seal. What you said makes no sense. 10.95 isn't 11 and it definitely is not 10. IF, and I will say this again, IF you want to use numbers without decimals round them properly. Edit: Let me rephrase that. You don't know what 10.95 means. Look into it.
  7. How is it any more of a scenario than someone visiting a city? Both are certain rewards yet both are missed if you don't visit them. I assume you're referring to where I pointed out that by your logic Chad doesn't get credit for opening chests in Chapter 3 because he's forced? I still don't see you countering that one anyway. It's becoming constantly more apparent to me that every memory you have of this game has been eroded by FEDS. Yeah if you don't want to use decimals you could at least round them properly. You can read 10.95 as 5% chance of being 10. That's about the same as the chance of an Armor actually seeing combat in a random chapter! High five, guys!
  8. I don't mind posting a counter comparison to Lot and Thany, but it'll take until next Saturday or so but it's not like it can't wait. Sophia's ring. I expect this will be the final time I need to bring this up and if "okay I can ignore this until he forgets" is your last line of defense feel free to undo the change in tier positioning. Otherwise please state a valid reason for not taking it into account. Fa
  9. I don't buy this "Barth benefits the most so he always gets the KC." thing. There are better choices for overall better team efficiency than promoting him early but moreover it's a single extremely contested resource so it's easy to agree that no one should be assumed to get it. See the arrow guard for Fliers. You can't argue that to anyone in particular because no one has priority over others for it. Obviously using it on a Pegasi makes the Pegasi a lot more durable than giving it to already-pretty-sturdy Miredy but Miredy becomes invulnerable and benefits the team much more that way. This should sound familiar. Also dondon I think you misunderstood what I meant. I was gunning for "pre-promoted Barth > not prepromoted unit X" is a flawed comparison as in it's not saying a whole lot that (only) Barth can promote early. It doesn't get a whole lot better if you go "pre-promoted Barth > prepromoted unit Y". The least you could do in those cases is give another contested resource (Stat Booster) of their choice to the prepromoted unit. I still don't see any valid reason for disregarding Sophia's ring. And hey thanks for brining up the flier promotion item, I had completely forgotten that Thany's leveling rate comparable to Lance was never explained when he went over Lot.
  10. So by "I'll drop it" you meant you'll manage once every five posts to not mention Armors. You can stop repeating your "strategy" now. Only person you can leave behind is Wendy and that's because she's the only one not having any use elsewhere. Barth cannot block the path and abuse levels for himself because he can be used for the rest of the chapter. Promoting someone early isn't saying a whole lot by itself either. Everyone not yet promoted is able to promote early and thus become more effective for a while. Long term use is somewhat arguable per class and per case seeing how it ultimately slows down the unit's experience gain.
  11. Sophia can also get those things. That's like saying "other units can gather things from towns". While it's definitely not false it would be ignoring that so can Sophia. Only Sophia can get the ring. Only Chad can loot chests until you receive keys. Yes it does matter because you dropped Sophia for not getting the ring credit.
  12. Moving any other unit from point A to B does not net you a Guiding Ring.
  13. Sophia doesn't get credit for the ring because she's forced? That's the stupidest reasoning I've ever heard. I assume Chad doesn't get anything for opening the two chests in Ch2 either because he's forced. Acually you have to go out of your way to open them so let's make it negative utility for him, right? If you want to disregard Sophia's wedding ring this is definitely not the reason to do so. Kuja. Go read your own fucking ruleset. A character can be so bad he/she is negative utility. Babying Wendy for like ten fucking chapters accumulates such an amount of negative utility the tier she'd belong to woudn't fit on the fucking list because it'd be so low? I'm absolutely sick of your shit with the Armors. I'd rather see them removed from the list than have to deal with these same ridiculous arguments that have nothing to do with reality followed by you crying how no one takes them seriously. Instead of whining why don't you take a moment to consider why everyone thinks your arguments regarding Armors hold no water.
  14. Why would I leave perfectly usable units to stand still when I could use them to attack enemies up ahead? I guess leaving Wendy in the vicinity shortly afterwards would make sense but I don't really see her getting more than one level out of it with her Javelin hit rate. Especially since the enemies appear at turn.. 15 or 16? and reach the treasure room some three or four turns later. That doesn't leave you with a lot of time to farm them anyway.
  15. 3 - Not much I can say here, just move fast. You can get in between the second group of two and the group of four Cavs easy enough 5 - Once again just move fast. The turn I killed the boss the first one spawned from the lower fort, and I was taking the long route. The upper fort is a joke 6 - If you kill the boss these reinforcements don't appear (the bottom ones still do) 7 - You don't need anyone to block the doorway. There's plenty of time to conquer the throne before they catch up to you. 8 - Sure you can leave useless people behind but leaving just one is getting him killed. So let's leave a healer with him or more people? The more people you take away the slower you progress towards the throne, especially if leaving key units like healers. The boss isn't a joke here. Even with Armorslayers and Hammer he'll be a pain in the ass. I had majority of the crew able to damage him do so and IIRC it still took me three turns to down him.
  16. If you've had significantly higher levels I assume you have farmed reinforcements in 3, 5, 6, 7 and especially 8. In order to use such levels it would be nice to see turncounts that show no loss of efficiency has happened while killing things that are unnecessary to slay. 3 - You can capture the throne before all the Cavs have come 5 - Brigands can be avoided 6&7 - All reinforcements can be avoided 8 - Everything except several units coming from stairs near throne can be avoided
  17. Bors 14 at the end of 8x? On my current half-finished playthrough I had no one at 14 at that time and my most used units (read: the ones with enough move to actually attack people) were level 12. Then again I haven't been satisfied with my turn counts, averaging at 13 per chapter up to Ch9. Should start again before I forget the minor details. There's one thing Bors is good at and that's soloing his way to recruit Lugh. Not that everyone else couldn't do it, Bors is just so slow it's useless to have him do anything else.
  18. Huh, yeah. It's only attack and I should know that. Thanks for pointing it out. Edit: It seems the only option left is that my Thany didn't get a HP level up. She was 3 and half around that time since I had her do the taxi in 2 and visit S village and shop at 4. I only recorded levels, not the stats they got.. hm. It would be beneficial to have a FE6 hack that forces average stats. Never have I said Thany is so bad she is unable to gain exp. She has trouble getting kills and being the only flier for the beginning lowers the amount of combat she'll see (not that this is a negative for her but it does affect her exp gain). 3 is probably the best chapter for her to gain kills because it has so many Soldiers but even there I question how many are you letting her finish off.
  19. It's possible for the Fighters to have 15 Str while admittably it's one or two at tops a map. Sometimes there aren't any. 15 str HA does 15+7+1=23 damage and it ORKO's an average level 3 Thany (18+6-1=23). Level 4 too if she didn't get HP of Def but that's kind of pushing it even if they're both still below .5 (Edit2: To elaborate assuming 35% chance of getting HP and 30% chance for Def she has ~54% chance of being able to survive). Well, here he is. Smiling for the camera and all. She's not doing fine compared to Lot. Let's compare. Existing enemy types Thany does fine against for this timeframe: Merc Myrm Mage Soldier Enemies Lot does fine against: Mage Soldier Fighter Brigand Cavalier Armor Archer Nomad WyvernK Pirate I already said how I thought you were pushing Lance's levels and I still stand by that statement. Lance is, however, a very good unit with great combat abilities, excellent supports and ideal movement range. Lance levels a lot faster than units who aren't equally good so in my opinion you can't have someone like Thany level comparably to Lance. Of course it's still your take against mine, the difference is that this time I brought my own play data with me that matches my experiences. Some views from users not named Reikken or Quasar would be welcome. Edit: Yeah, I'm still all about giving Sophia credit for the Guiding Ring because no one else can get it. If she gets credit S > J for a tier, if not J > S. This is considering having to put up with Sophia for the rest of the game.
  20. Maybe. In either case I don't feel like going for Julian + 3 chapters with A staves + Aum > Ballisticians but at least the matter at hand got solved.
  21. So if I understand this correctly it's based only on combat in which case he should get additional bonuses for thief shit. Marth is a different issue because he has other things to do.
  22. Gentlemen, I'd appreciate if you didn't treat me like a lunatic. The part of Julian's tier position based on opening chests shouldn't be more valuable than Rickard's when they both exist. Unless you're saying it's not noted at all in which case it should be because apparently being open chests even with lower availability is better than three chapters of Mend and Warp plus one necromancy.
  23. Against non-axe users yes. It's not like the problems end after changing weapon either. 3 Thany did 0-3 damage to Ch 4 Cavs with Iron (can't double) IIRC. Good luck pulling off killing blows with that. She's decent against Mercs and Myrms but they're rare as shit. Mages too I guess. If you say she doesn't have a problem leveling then you're lying. I was literally trying to feed her kills and I failed. Edit: More details? Sure. Chapter 2 - more useful for transport due the dangerous archer not to mention the enemies are piling up, making it dangerous for her to attack Chapter 3 - can attack Soldiers at beginning easily at least. Chapter 4 - ass Cavaliers and lolnomads keeping her away Chapter 5 - axemen with crazy power, some ORKO'ing even with HA Chapter 6 - some easier units here Chapter 7 - Cavaliers, Archers and Wyverns Chapter 8 - easier units here Chapter 8x - you're pretty much required to use Thany for non-combat purposes
  24. I actually started ToV recently (go Yurop). I couldn't help noticing the complaints about difficulty and I think I'm doing something terribly wrong because I'm having a damn hard time with the bosses on normal. It's my first Tales game and all but seriously. I died like six times to that wolf in the forest at the beginning of the game. I looked at a walkthrough after beating it and I was below the suggested levels by six or so but I don't think it should have such a big effect (I hate grinding and not too fond of the fighting mechanic overall. I avoid all fights that I can). Oh well. It's pretty nice though. Glad you PS3 owners can get your hands on it too.
