  1. For no royals runs, do people tend to allow Camilla for C10 on virtue of being forced, or she'll have to sit somewhere away from action?

I'm not really sure myself. Currently at C9, 1 str short of ORKOing lancers (fuck my life) so I have to do it the long way.

I plan on having Camilla sit out.

Effie + Arthur on the right, Nyx fights the Oni-chans on the left and Silas + Selena take on the middle. Corrin might have to rig Dragon Fang on Oboro, and Beruka will fly Corrin to key places.

edit: wow I'm lucky. Silas got a surge of spd/Def (+4 to each for the unaware) right before C10. He's gonna carry so hard lol.

  2. Started up a new run where royals are disallowed save Elise, Azura, and Corrin. Have a free fun plans for this run.

Wyvern Lord Silas and Bow Knight Effie are my Speedwings candidates. Wondering if I should bring Nyx and Selena along and who to pair them with. Or I might use Peri for once. Or maybe even Ninja Lazlow with the C13 arms scroll and buddying Keaton.

    So many options!

  3. This looks fun!

    Name: Cecil

    Starting class: Archer

    Secondary class: Fighter

    Route: Nohr

Personal skil: Deadshot (If this unit has 90% or more hit on the enemy, damage +3 and crit +10)

Personal Growths (before class): HP 40%| Str 45%| Mag 0%| Skl 50%| Spd 50%| Lck 35%| Def 35%| Res 10%

Base Bow rank: D (+ halfway full)

    Base stats: Level 9| HP 28| Str 11| Mag 0| Skl 15| Spd 13| Lck 7| Def 9| Res 2

Recruitment: Chapter 9, talk with Niles or Azura.

Supports: All Conquest females, Niles, Shura.

Description: An old friend of Niles born in the slums of Nohr. He fled to Hoshido at a young age, where he was taught the way of the bow by a well regarded archer. The prejudice he faced there made him doubt his allegiance, causing him to rejoin Nohr. The pickiest eater. Born March 18.

Don't feel quite like getting into the real stuff like battle quotes and supports, but I'd like my character to be a somewhat close figure from Niles' past, seeing as we know so little about it. Also needed to be a snowflake starting as a Hoshidan class in Nohr :P:. I wanted secondary class to be Outlaw, but then that would just take Niles' niche so I went with another slum appropriate class (Fighter).

  4. I'm unashamed Hana trash because I am naturally drawn to glass cannons. Although with +3 HP and +4 Str/Def from Master of Arms promotion + a defensive pair up + the generally low quality of Birthrout's enemies I don't have a hard time using Hana at all. I like overkilling shit. Yeah 24 x2 damage to a 28 HP fighter or some shit feels dope man. With her supports she's generally mean in the C/B but then usually apologizes and makes a turn around in the A with the S being standard "I loved you all long" or something similar. She's blunt but realizes her faults and I like that (supports to read: Keaton and Hayato). I'm also a huge sucker for pink and headbands. Karen Strassman is also one of my favorite voice actresses. Her seemingly unhealthy devotion to Sakura is a combination of her trying to live up to her father's legacy and protecting her best friend. It's a a lot less obnoxious when you look at it that way.

Basically, all the puzzle pieces fell in the right place for me.

Hinata's a bro, but he's also too much of a bro. He's a shonen protagonist basically. That's cool too, even if I don't dig his jank speed.

  5. Alrighty, finally finished my (semi) no royals run of Revelation Lunatic (Corn, Azura, Elise, and Sakura allowed). Surprisingly, it was the most fun I have had with Fates in a really long time.

This is what the not-royal team looked like at the end of the game (after pair up/tonics).

    O7GvLQm.jpg

Paired with Master of Arms Hinata. Stayed a Ninja for the whole game. She was a tad slower than I would have liked at times, but in exchange she also got a surprising amount of Def so I didn't mind. Capped Strength, to the surprise on no one. Total resources allocated: C21 Arms Scroll (to reach S rank Shuriken).

    D4Nc4au.jpg

Paired with Berserker Beruka. Stayed a Wyvern Lord for the Lion's share of the game, but I switched back to Spear Master towards the end to pick up Lancefaire, some speed, and for flavor reasons. Did my flier stuff until the last 3 chapters. Was always the slowest, but the bulk and flight made up for it. Total resources allocated: C10 Speedwings, C10 Arms Scroll (as a Wyvern Lord for instant Hammer access), 2 Shop Arms Scrolls (to reach S rank Lances).

    ILW564X.jpg

Paired with Maid Felicia. What is skill. He was pretty much a beast for the whole game. Like why does a mage need 40 AS and over 30 Def? Went Onmyoji in C26 exclusively for tomefaire then went back to Chieftain. At some point I considered Partner sealing to Strategist but eh. Capped speed. Definitely one of the best mages in the series. Total resources allocated: C10 Spirit dust.

    Nxzxkc9.jpg

Paired with Wolfssenger Keaton. 67 Atk 44 AS welcome to die motherfucker. Most of her training was just being paired with Wyvern Gunther until Keaton showed up, and the tons of free swords that the early game gives you that only she could use helped too. Her high AS was pretty great for the post Valla chapters since she was like the only unit I had besides Corn that could ORKO Master Ninjas and Spear Masters consistently. Her strength was very cooperative early on which saved me headaches pre-Keaton. Spent plenty of time as a Hero which did a lot for her before she went back to Swordmaster for Swordfaire in C25. Capped Strength and Speed. Total resources allocated: C10 Seraph Robe, C10 Energy Drop, Shop Arms Scroll (to reach S rank swords).

  6. Been a while since I posted on Serenes :P:

Anyway, I'm doing a (semi) no royals run of Revelation Lunatic. I say "semi" because of a few things. Corrin, Azura, Elise, and Sakura are allowed. Corrin is allowed for the sake of the final boss, Azura is allowed because Revelation is enough of a slog already, Sakura and Elise are allowed because for whatever reason they are the only base staffers until Azama in C16 and I don't feel like playing Vulnerary Emblem. It's actually sorta fun, pulling people out of their ruts. Some units are beyond hopeless though.

Anyway, here's the core squad as of C16, Corrin/allowed royals omitted.

    FY9GoHo.jpg

Note Kagero has an HP tonic in this photo. Her actual HP value is 26. Paired with Weapon Master Hinata. Statboosters allocated: none. She's a beast.

    RFJYAFo.jpg

Paired with Maid Felicia. Statboosters allocated: C10 Spirit Dust. Oni Chieftain in the making.

    T5cFGdR.jpg

Pared with Fighter Beruka to eventually obtain Wyvern Lord. Statboosters allocated: C10 Speedwings. Lowish base speed led to a shaky start. Wanted to pair her with Benny after Wyern Lord but I killed Benny by accident oh well.

    YEH6fZG.jpg

Paired with Wolfskin Keaton for eventual access to Fighter!Hero. Resources allocated: C10 Seraph Robe, C10 Energy Drop. Availability can do a lot for you.

Post Valla chapters are so boring though I don't know if I'll really make that much progress on the run but just felt like showing it off.

  7. I'm slowly getting closer to having too much unit :(

How good is Bennie, and Keaton? Leo is a Royal so i figure out he's a monster, and he joined the game by literally one shotting the entire map, but i dunno about those two

Benny's in the running for worst unit in Nohr and Keaton is as good as infantry gets except everyone in Nohr is mounted and he isn't and no 1-2 range. Like, not even a shitty javelin or something.

Leo is a great pairup bot for Odin... Ok Leo's actually the third/4th best mage in conquest maingame depending on your avatar build and is a total freeby outside the 2k you spend to heart seal his ass out of dark knight asap, but it is a very distant third. He gets a lot of his rep from existing in an effective vacuum so yes he is a bit overrated. That said he is 100% worth using if you didn't go with a dm/dviner MU. (He can actually pick up vantage pretty easily on ch22 and compete with his pupil...with 6 chapters left in the game)

There's MU being a better mage than Leo and.... that's it. Leo comes prepackaged with a 10 Mt tome only he can use w/no drawbacks, 8 mov, and pretty gr9mazing bases save his easily fixable speed. Like, what sort of high impact drug are you taking up the nose to say any mage even comes close to Leo's level of facestompery. Because I'd like 2 fucking crates of it.

  8. Aye, Cav is also pretty brainless. Corncob's stupid high personal str growth and all the damage boosting skills in the Cavalier tree just meshes so well together. Really hard to get Kaze and Saizo 3 levels as SMs tho, but it sounds so fun. Saizo w/forged Barb Shuriken is literally FE5 Orsin and throwing Astra on that just sounds hilarious.

  9. I don't know how you can even use Kaze when his base strength is so low. At least Niles can ORKO fliers.

I wish Ninjas got a skill that increased non-kill EXP.

Hunting Knife Kaze ORKOs fliers too. Before you bring up wyverns, the only time you fight wyverns in CQ (strangely enough) is in C13 and Maligs in Endgame. Every other flier is beast type.

    Ninja corn op

Literally the most brainless way to steamroll every route and damn if it isn't fun to do so.

  10. Really? I saw no other alternative since the reinforcement kept coming, and it would be impossible to charge in against both endless streams of enemies and magic turrets. How did you solve it?

Oh shit I though you said CQ 24 my bad. Now I feel silly. H24 is kill boss could probably just rescue someone w/ an axe splitter Katana and end it within a couple of turns tbh.

  11. Beat Birthright chapter 24 a few hours ago, and it's probably one of my least favorite maps in the entire game, especially on Lunatic.

"Strategy? What's that? Just keep on sending in reinforcements!" - seriously, they just kept coming; where's the fun in turtling up to that extent?

You're not supposed to turtle in 24. It's one of the most well designed chapters in the route.

  12. Fuck chapter 20

Ended up cheesing it with ninja kamui + fliers but man

    fuck that chapter

Chapter 20 is one of those chapters that you'll inevitably hate your first time through but after you get used to the mechanics it's so fun! Seriously! You can save yourself like, 3-4 turns worth of movement with proper wind positioning. Give it another go one day.

  13. You don't need two units at the left side. Odin/Nyx shooting with the magic tower at the three brigands while a ranged unit (preferably the other mage that isn't shooting) finishes the job usually wraps it up. Also, Niles and Mozu/Jakob/Felicia can take the right side while Kamui, Silas, Effie and Elise hold the center. A HP/Def Kamui with a Dragonstone and skill support from Elise/Jakob/Felicia and/or pair up with Silas can hold their own against brigands.

When the ninjas come, Camilla and her units will arrive, so you can just take them out with her and Belka's aid while harassing their group with magic tower shots. I sent Selena to the right to help Niles and prepare for the batch of enemies coming from that side, and found out that three units are more than enough to do the job.

I use Silas/Nyx on the right side to make it easier to feed kills to Silas. It's true that Nyx alone could take the right for the first few turns or so, but since I don't use her long term I prefer to give them to Silas. While I said Kamui and Niles hold the middle, it's actually more Ninja Kamui solos the middle and Zero picks up scraps w/ Attack stance. When Camilla comes, she immediately engages Oboro's group and starts charging south after that to ambush the Peg reinforcements, all while Effie is OHKOing every enemy on the right w/ Javelin.

Anyway, the strategic flexibility + difficulty of this map is what makes me love it. Usually difficult limits flexibility, but the map strikes the perfect balance.
