  1. You can just use a spotpass [or streetpass or logbook] unit from the wireless menu. Honestly, females with rally strength isn't even that important. I have a male rally bot anyway (I use 2 rally bots), so it's not really as critical as you think. Just because I run 2 doesn't mean you have to either. Some people like 1-4, it just depends on your personal preference + your unit placement management. And it depends on what you mean by waste. Because if you banned those methods above (it sounds like you didn't ban streetpass; just grab more), then only the Avatar and kids can run rally spectrum. While being a bot isn't glorious, it's still a keystone element in Apo. No rallies might cause more trouble than it's worth (although you might enjoy the challenge).
  2. While random could be a possibility, I think that should be ruled out until we've exhausted all other explanations. Because if we write it off as RNG, then when will we go back and solve the puzzle if there is one. Sure, it might be a waste of time (if it does turn out to be random). But, if we know what and why causes it, we can find a way to abuse [or avoid] it as well--as opposed to be straight out getting dunked on by losing a support rank.
  3. The best chance of survival is when you always kill the other person. As ironic as it sounds, abused vantage creates a stronger durability compared to a defensive multi-healing set. And I know it's a few posts late, but Sorc is pretty comparable to Sage. Yeah, it's not as good (really tho, just because you're not a Sage or Sniper....), but it's still a strong class.
  4. Cordelia has +2 Stahl has +0 Gregor has +0 Vaike has +1 Lon'qu has +3
  5. To be fair, I run vantageless vengeance and 0% dual strikes depending on the run and the users, and I considered them good and smart choices. Although the giant signal of using renewal with vengeance seems to imply that you aren't getting your bang for your buck at all. Renewal deletes your damage output as well as exits vantage range (all in one skill). At that point, you're two skills down--you're better off running Luna and another filler skill.
  6. No rallies, but including dlc seems like it's hardly an inhibitor. If anything, you pitched 2 units you didn't need (rallies seen as a substitute for LB), for 2 units that actually help. In the no dlc world, you are down over 20 Atk on some units, so perhaps you might have some more difficulty. I wouldn't recommend tacking on a challenge on top of no dlc until you've done no dlc. Once you get your feet wet, you'll know if you can do no dlc/no rally (since all calc subtraction is a flat -8 for the most part).
  7. Not really. Consider that Long Bow is one of the (I might argue as the) best leading weapon for Apo. Of course, supporting [or leading] with a brave bow is also very powerful. To put in a realistic perspective, for my FeMU x Chrom run, I chose Chrom (procless) to lead over V/V because of Long Bow. Being able to say "I can lead better than a V/V unit in some circumstances" tells you a pretty story about how strong it is to be a Sniper. But you'd be right if you thought being a Sniper isn't as "glorious" as a Sage.
  8. Olivia for streetpass, Sumia for jack of all trades. For someone who wants to do in game, streetpass, and apo all wrapped into one file, (excluding FeMU), Sumia is clearly the strongest choice. If you wanted to specialize in just one section, then Sumia is always second best. But really, specialization only matters on the fringe beyond theory and challenges, so Sumia will typically eclipse the other mothers. She provides no benefit for me, but she provides excellent service nonetheless to pretty much everyone else.
  9. Her reason to go back in time was never nullified. She saved the second timeline; she never saved her original timeline. Grima annihilated that one, and it will never come back. Defeating Grima in the playable timeline didn't save her original one.
  10. Lucina never fully lived her life in her original timeline. I don't think that's really a paradox.
  11. Because the recruited/playable Stahl and Lissa aren't really Owain's parents. It's the Stahl/Lissa (who were alive for the birth) from the original timeline.
  12. This might be the most valuable information. Unused boots is standing side by side to unused potent weapons.
  13. Post Limit Break, they both have 62 Skill as Snipers. 124 from raw stats. +8 (Sniper pair up) +4 (tonic for each) + 20 (rallies,) = 156 Options; just add them up to 4 Skl+2 (both have access) AS+2 (both have access, if you buy) It's in the realm of possibility. If you absolutely were against those, and you really wanted to not include those skills, a Skl asset raises +4 as well. Also, if you considered adding in those (And possibly defender), you could opt for classes of lower Skl and higher in other stats. Just make sure to balance the equation.
  14. 1. Classic is bragging rights and classic gameplay. To say "just classic mode" is face value. It might not ever mean anything to you if you don't want to play it. 2. Aggressor will work for mages. It raises your attack--not your strength. 3. The math behind proc stacking can be simple. Let's say you have 50 Skl with Luna and Ignis equipped. Luna has priority over Ignis, so you get a Skl% chance for Luna checked first (50%). You now have 50% of not Luna. That can be any remaining procs and vanilla attack. Only if you fail the Luna check (which is half the time), the game will check for Ignis (50%). But this is 50% of the remaining percent left. So you only get a 25% chance to hit Ignis. You effectively dilute your chance for Ignis by incorporating Luna, but you also dilute the chance of a vanilla attack. You add those percentages for a total of 50% Luna, 25% Ignis, 25% Vanilla. Or, just 75% chance of a proc in general. The more procs you add, the lower the vanilla attack, but it's also a lower chance of the proc happening down on the food chain. Obviously, you will have much, much higher Skl than 50, so your chance of a vanilla attack will be pretty low. It isn't non-existent; it might screw you over once in a blue moon, but your playing with odds much better than vanilla Luna. It's partially reaping the benefit of reliability to an extent (you won't know what you get going into a fight, but you know it's more likely than not to be a proc adding enough to be lethal). 4. Yeah, you need cumulative 160. Remember that rallies will apply to both units, so that can be upward to +20 right there (including heart, 16 without). This is where perhaps a Skill asset (over more common assets such as Mag/Str/Spd), high Skl max class over the high Str/Mag classes come in handy. Then you also sacrifice skillslots for less than prime skills such as Skl+2 or even defender (those points might make or break the 99% to 100%). You might have to sac Armsthrift for the last +1 from defender. We can do a calc for you if you give us your asset flaw. If you did something like +Def/-Skl, then might be shooting yourself in the foot.
  15. The [proper] way to post a pairing is Father!Child (or Mother!Child in Lucina's case). It's infinitely easier to read than like 40 names in a row with only spaces. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this is the synthesized list of your children (in a readable format). FeMU!Lucina Chrom!Morgan Ricken!Inigo Stahl!Severa Gregor!Brady Donnel!Noire Vaike!Kjelle Gaius!Nah Libra!Owain Henry!Cynthia Frederick!Gerome Kellam!Laurent Virion Yarne Before I munch on your questions, I'll tell you about S pair up > A pair up on pretty much one reason alone: Dual Strike% (S gets a bonus 10% compared to A). 1. Remember than being unique isn't the same thing as being good. Diversity can be refreshing, but it doesn't really mean you should aim for it. If you end up with a narrow or wide arrangement of classes, then good/bad for you. Don't read too much into having too many similar classes. You shouldn't skip out on a good class just because someone else has it. Also, Sol and Nos aren't highly effective in Apo (which your post listing ~20 characters for "strike" teams imply). I wouldn't recommend V/V either because vengeance is as good as the player (and this is your first time playing). It might be a better idea to have Luna and another proc (the proc %s are not directly additive, but they minimize the chance of a vanilla attack). That also clears up potential skillslots you were worried about. 2. Some of them probably need to hit the bench. You can always substitute a unit for a spotpass unit (wireless menu > bonus teams) and make that unit dedicated for doing a function. Those can be rescue and rallies (Olivia shouldn't be using rallies, she should be using Dance) 3. It might be depending on the classes, skill selection, and so on. I wouldn't eliminate the possibilities, but there are trade offs to get 100% on non-Dual Strike pairs (So Chrom/FeMU + Lucina/Inigo should hit them handily). The one in question is Morgan/Severa based off those factors. 4. Camping isn't really effective on Apo; aggressive playstyle is actually favored over defensive (to the point where defensive is obsolete and poor). 5. Can't comment on AS+2 (I don't have it), but it might help you with Morgan/Severa pairing 100% Dual Strike. I also can't guarantee it would happen if you bought it, so I think you might be better off calc'ing it. On the other hand, AS+2 fits into any filler slot that you don't have anything else for.
  16. Pavis, Luna, Renewal is nowhere near the ability of vv or double proc stack. And they have a skillslot to spare (any luxury or hit skill wanted). Offense is favored over defense in this environment.
  17. For the halved attacks on braves: Enemy 1: Full power for both attacks; debuff applied at end of combat Enemy 2: Half power; debuff applied again Enemy 3: Quarter power; debuff applied again Enemy 4: Eighth power; debuff applied again Until I attack with a non-halving weapon Or is it Enemy 1: Full power Enemy 2: Half power Enemy 3: Half power Enemy 4: Half power Until I attack with a non-halving weapon?
  18. I think you're underplaying the axe issue. This issue exceeds that of normal issues; there's no point in using vengeance if you just want to die
  19. If you were going to use Sol + Vengeance, it would be even worse. Sol doesn't really have a redemption value. Sol is bad even with braves' damage output tbh, Gregor doesn't even try to look good at all on paper for Apo. Neither are "tanks." Aggressive gameplay is favored over defensive.
  20. Vengeance might be a powerful tool, but the axe itself isn't very applicable. The only non-brave that it functions with are the 3 range bows (so Gregor even using Vengeance in the first place isn't really a smart idea) and sometimes in niche conditions higher rank tomes. One of the reasons why V/V works is because you kill the enemy before they kill you, but it's hard to do that in a poor weapon + melee range + no brave output yourself. I also don't think Gregor is hitting 100% DS or 100% crit, so you're already asking to gamble something completely arbitrarily for the novelty half of the build (and the weapon to an extent). But if you were considering Sol... it's a very lackluster skill in Apo for multiple reasons. It negates the chance of a proc to add damage (such as Luna), without said proc you aren't getting any good damage in to heal (dragonskin alone is a laughable heal), and Sol itself puts you out of vantage. You're worrying about Anna doubling you? If she even gets one turn on his sorry ass he's dead anyway if you're already using vengeance based strats. Doubling is the last thing on your mind with V/V because the whole point is to be at critically low health to get the most bang for your buck. Don't try and do multiple setups against multiple enemies. Getting hit, healing, getting hit, rinse and repeat is nowhere near the abused potential vengeance can pull.
  21. Ricken/Libra!"Physical"Child is definitely something you can play with. The reverse such as Vaike!"Magical"Child doesn't really work as well.
  22. I'll throw in my vote for Ricken!Severa. I think one of the primary reasons it worked for me is because As a side note, have you considered making a team that doesn't use every child? Someone might argue that you have the "better overall team," but I could say that my team of Morgan + Severa alone outperforms your entire team as well. Simple, different perspective. It can certainly change your mentality about what it means to make a good team when you're selectively choosing the cream of the crop instead of "everyone gets something."
  23. If you've gone out of your way for 100% DS, have you considered procless?
  24. You can use the rift door and reset if you don't like the items. Progress until you get what you want.
