Does anyone want a Fire Emblem game for Wii U?
Etria replied to IceRicer's topic in General Fire Emblem
I think I sounded a bit more curt than I wanted to. Sorry about that. -

Yes. What do I care what other people say about the 3d graphics? I find them ugly. It happens all the time that people don't like the things you like. This is one of them. -

Ah, the "chained to the TV" is the thing that bothers me the most. I like playing FE in bed the most or during longer car rides. And the 3D FEs were fucking ugly. The stories were okay, but in both cases I find they could've cut out some stuff. Especially that horrible 4-part level (I think Chp. 16? in Serens Forest). That chapter was such a drag and boring. Also, pixel style = <3 -

Hm. No, not really. I found I really dislike playing FE on a TV. I think they fit the handheld perfectly. I can't even pinpoint exactly why, but no, I wouldn't want a WiiU FE. (And I would not buy a WiiU for just one game) -
General Fire Emblem fanart: what is hotlink???
Etria replied to Thunderfox's topic in General Fire Emblem
Bastian and Geoffrey are my favourite characters from the Tellius games. I just don't have the sources to all my fanarts from them D: Otherwise I would post some. -
Would you buy an HD collection? Or collectors edition?
Etria replied to Jedi's topic in General Fire Emblem
Depends. If they're only of games that I already have (7-10, 13), then no. If they would cover the older games, probably. At least if they're faithfully to the original and don't shoehorn a bad avatar in (if they actually try to do it well, I would consider it) -
Hm, no, the opposite for me really. I like early game, especially in 7 and 8 (though I also like late game in 8). I hate mid/late game of 10 and 13, because I find the story and the maps take a nosedive during those parts. But generally, I don't care allllll that much.

Adding to what Knight said: a Troubadour wouldn't need a war horse anyway. War horses were trained to be in the middle of battle. They were not allowed to be afraid of weapons, the noise and charging. Then, depending on the time, they had to rear on command, turn in place (often on their hindlegs). They also had to be pretty strong to carry a fully armoured knight. Armour could weigh up to 30 kilos and then add the average weight of a man and weapons. It not only takes long to train war horses, but it is also expensive as hell. A Troubardour doesn't really need anything other then the horse being unafraid of battle noise maybe. The war horse was a knight's most valuable possession.

Well, apart from Ikea, I've got Ike Turner first and I never searched for him or Tina Turner. Smash Ike was fourth or something.

I think that's the little brother of... Kyle? My google search wants to turn Ike into Ikea so make of that what you want.

How bad were you when you just started fire emblem?
Etria replied to momogeek2141's topic in General Fire Emblem
I knew about perma death, which is why I was careful about my units. End result was that Eliwood/Marcus/Lyn were super weak (Eliwood wasn't even level 8 by chapter 17 or something, lol). That meant that my units were too weak to kill anything and I had to restart all the time. Eventually I had enough and put FE7 aside for about a year. I was better then and actually beat it. -
How would the shapeshifters technologically advance?
Etria replied to Dragoncat's topic in General Fire Emblem
Yeah and you needed to be close or touching it. Not strong enough to do much. So if they have to decide between "using stones and dying of madness" and "adapting to use stones", which one is more intelligent for nature to do? -

Etria replied to Dragoncat's topic in General Fire Emblem
God, Ana, you're acting as if you never played PoR/RD. Lehran and Desighnea were almost constantly talking about how the chaotic energy from the war was affecting the medallion, i.e. the medallion in itself couldn't drive the whole world mad. The chaotic energy existed next to the medallion; it did not come from Yune, especially since she was sealed away. -
Character deaths - Reset - Yes or No?
Etria replied to MisterIceTeaPeach's topic in General Fire Emblem
Oh, the only time I didn't reset was during one Creature Campaign in FE 8. I was so annoyed by the ruins and the zombie dragons that I sacrifice Seth to get Fado. Because Fado is awesome and I wanted him in my team with Hayden (Still disappointed that you can't also get Viggy). -
Character deaths - Reset - Yes or No?
Etria replied to MisterIceTeaPeach's topic in General Fire Emblem
I always reset because I feel bad if I let them stay dead yes I'm ridiculous like that. And since I normally don't have to reset more than two to three times it doesn't matter much. -
What if Fire Emblem had an established antagonist
Etria replied to Ishi's topic in General Fire Emblem
Hm, no. I like it that Fire Emblem has different worlds. I'd be okay with it in a case like PoR/RD or FE 4/5. But you'd need a coherent, relatively tight story for that and, as others said, a cast that's not too big. RD really suffered under the huge amount of characters. And the antagonist would need more backstory to keep him interesting. Bowser can manage with barely any characterisation (outside of Paper Mario or so I heard) because Mario games are not about the story. I'd also argue that Legend of Zelda doesn't focus all that much on a story. As long as Ganondorf has some well-established goal, he gets by with little characterisation as well. But Fire Emblem does make a point to include a story that is a bit more complex than "princess gets kidnap, you save her"/ "triforce is in danger, safe it by completing dungeons". So probably a lot would have to be changed. -
And Renning's a beorc. It would makes sense if they work differently for beorc and laguz.

Hm, the only occasion where I would knock (on a table) is in a seminar in uni when the course is over. Well, we do have our share of sweet cakes as well, but not as many. I mean, I've been to America once and I found the cakes almost inedible. Sugar shock! We don't have "German Chocolate Cake" here. The first time I heard about it was on the internet.

1. Whaaaaaat? In which context? 2. In some cases. 3. Kinda. 4. Cheating! Three points are about drinking! 5. And that's the reason why our baked goods are superior. But I actually meant a FE13 country. XD

Okay, then tell me something about a country of your choice's culture. Let's say five things.

Branching Chapters, Side Quests and Multiple Endings in Fire Emblem
Etria replied to Knight's topic in General Fire Emblem
I definitely want them back. Especially a "split" story like in FE8. I loved it there and I would love it again. It would be even more interesting if in one case you play as a lord in the middle of a war and the other path would follow some civilians-turned-soldiers on the same or the other side. More perspectives! -
Is it right to call FE characters 'playable'?
Etria replied to AnonymousSpeed's topic in General Fire Emblem
Wtf? "Playable" is just the opposite of "NPC", the characters you cannot play with.- 13 replies

Why are a lot of playable characters in FE so...beautiful?
Etria replied to Twiggy's topic in General Fire Emblem
That'd be an interesting perspective and it would be a great opportunity to flesh out Magvel. -
Why do you think all pegasus knights are female?
Etria replied to Dragoncat's topic in General Fire Emblem
Because IS thought Pegasus = Unicorn. And then they probably just said "fuck it, female only class so that we can add more scantily clad women".
