  1. Lol yeah he does have light. I think Sain might have wind? Been awhile since I played FE7... Well the personality traits are like our zodiac ones: estimates and not always set in stone. One person might fit it spot on and another might not. Really what I did was try to make the traits reflect the element, notice how I included two most likely good and two most likely bad traits in each one as well. I also considered some of the characters that have whatever affinity, like ice = water as I said, and those traits are had by Mist.
  2. @Extrasolar YAAASSS. If anybody wants to include cheesy dating advice books in their fanfic I'm all for it, and I want to see it. I could do it myself but I don't see how atm. I'd like to see a Sain/Gatrie/Inigo type initiating supports with "what's your sign?" and proceeding to make lame puns about his. "Mine is wind, and trust me, I can blow you away."
  3. PSA: Horoscopes irl, while they can be dumb, inaccurate, or whatever else, are still interesting and fun to work with and make lore about. Please, if you vote "no" on the poll, be civil about it. I will give you the same respect I expect from you. Let me have my fun and you can disagree all you want, I'm not forcing you to like it. So the affinities were part of the series starting from the GBA era, but stopping at the DS. Should they return? Did you like them? My answer to both those questions is yes. I like to picture them as being the FE world's equivalent to zodiac signs, complete with common personality traits and good and bad romantic matches. It's based mostly on the Tellius affinities, only with water being replaced with ice and heaven being replaced with cosmic. But not too much of a difference there. I wasn't aiming to match the elements with the time of year, just divided the year into 8 equal (or close) parts and put them in a logical order. Sure, I could've put fire in the summer months, but like I said, I wasn't aiming for weather/climate/season accuracy. Discuss and tell me what yours is. Mine is thunder.
  4. With an earth affinity and my affinity system being like the zodiacs/horoscopes, his birthday would be *looks* somewhere in the range of June 30 to August 13. Oh man, we can't use the number 18 at all there...I'm going to put the system up in a topic now. I'll make it a general discussion on affinities as well too. Just in case anyone's interested. I envy people who can put together games like this so quickly and easily...more power to you, OP.
  5. That would depend on how you explained it to her, if she's ever played any video games before, and if she has, has she played any RPGs or strategy games. I usually tell people it's chess on steroids lol. Or, "it's like chess, only with characters, they get stronger through battles. The blue guys are mine, the red guys are the enemies. Sometimes there's green guys, they're on my side but I can't control them." The above explanation would work if she's unfamiliar with RPGs or video games in general. You might also add something like "There's a story, it's set in a medieval fantasy world." You could add more depending on which FE it is. LIke for Fates, you could say "There's one character who represents you. You were born into the royal family of one country, but because of events in the story, raised by the royal family of another. These two countries are enemies, one is Japanese themed and the other is European themed. You can choose to go with either family, or neither and tell them they need to settle their differences. There's three possible stories, one for each choice." If she is a gamer with some knowledge of the genre, just tell her it's an RPG with tactical elements set in a medieval fantasy world.
  6. I see...if there was beorc slavery though, it had to be eons ago. Because we never hear of it, only laguz slavery. Where does it mention the hermit in Gallia teaching Soren magic?
  7. Yeah, I loved that chapter in RD. I loved letting the horses out. Too bad there was a turn limit...I had to focus more on burning the supplies and I could only free like 2 horses. Wyverns in my headcanon don't breathe fire, but they spit acidic venom. I'm pretty sure in most myths of wyverns, they're two legged and two winged dragons with either poison stingers on their tails or venom like rattlesnakes. So that's what I picture. Used to prefer the ones with arms but now I don't. The venom can melt skin and corrode metal to a certain extent, so the support where Cherche talks about Minerva "burning" her works.
  8. You're welcome! I'm the same way on comics...since I write better than I draw my stories aren't comics.
  9. That was pretty much my friend. Her beef with it was that included witchcraft and called it that. Zelda was okay because its magic wasn't called "witchcraft". I'm pretty sure that's the case...I haven't brought up Harry Potter to her in years. But things like Eragon had magic in it, only it was called "magic" and "the ancient language". So I assume the highly religious people just don't like anything that falls under the term "witchcraft".
  10. No, but my best friend probably wanted them banned. She's the reason I never read them...I look back and kinda regret it. But she was into FE and Zelda and other fantasy stuff, Eragon etc. The only way I can see that happening is in a private church owned school. In a public school if they tried that it would be considered unconstitutional or something. Even if it was in the bible belt. Public schools arent allowed to be super religious afaik.
  11. You might still find what you're looking for. I'd take the request but I'm not the best artist. I can give advice though, use google to find pictures, study what the ingame Hoshidans wear, and maybe if possible, reclass Camilla and Felicia into a Hoshidan class and use that as reference? But since you're not making a comic it won't have to be much. "Camilla wore a fur lined kimono with her chest exposed slightly, and red ties in her hair." Something like that for casual wear? You'd do the same thing for combat outfits.
  12. Have you tried googling for ideas? "medieval japanese clothing"...
  13. Darkness lurks in the streets...don't let your guard down, lest you be accused of invading someone's turf... The law has forsaken us. Each of us has our own reason for doing what we do. We are Teams Rocket, Magma, Aqua, Galactic, Plasma, Flare, and Skull. These are our stories. First of all, this RP will take place offsite, on a place called RP Repository. You will have to make an account there to participate, but it's free (duh) and the community there is super friendly. As you can see it's about the villain teams. It takes place in Orre, the region from Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, and a new region connected to it known as Kerroe. These two regions appear safe and devoid of any major crime (30 years after Gale of Darkness, no Cipher or Team Snagem anymore) but as it turns out, the teams are all trying to stake out their territory there. So you can expect a storyline full of intrigue, backstabbing, and general PG 13 stuff. Both OCs and canons are allowed, but you can only claim up to two canons to begin with. More info can be found on the RP's site. Look around a bit there, find out which canons are available and get a feel for what I'm looking for. The world maps page is a work in progress, but the team info page is complete. http://www.rprepository.com/g/pokemon-turf-wars Direct any questions to me. Hope to see you there! Also post in this thread with any questions or comments so it can remain on the first page for awhile...
  14. True. I guess some people have it easier learning magic than others? A pegasus knight that ends up a natural with magic becomes a dark flier, and one who doesn't becomes a falcoknight? I mean, they do tend to have good resistance against anything but wind magic. So the magic is probably there, but they just have to figure out how to use it.
  15. Dark fliers say hi. I agree with everyone who voted yes. Even with horses, sure you can ride different horses to get from Point A to Point B, but riding one into battle is a different story. The one you ride into battle has to be trained to handle it, and trust you. Even if a horse was battle trained it might only be used to one person as a rider. So if you get a different war horse it might not trust you and buck you off etc. Gryphons and kinshis are meh. They're cool, but...yeah. Also the horns on the falcoknight mount are armor, as seen in PoR and RD I think. The pegasus changing color upon the rider promoting to dark flier? What's with that? Why do all pegasi have to be white, and in some cases black? I headcanon that they can be any color a horse can be. My pegasus knight OC has a brown one. Sometimes I use that logic for canon characters, like I gave Marcia a cream colored pegasus.
  16. Yes that works thank you. The Gallia one, I always thought Greil/Elena were given shelter, not living there permanently, but that's an interesting concept.
  17. Same. Some sites I have it disabled, but only because they ask nicely.
  18. I'll have to try the favorites one, but so many choices xD
  19. I would love to read a few of these but can't because my current laptop can't read docx...
  20. The focus thing confuses me. When you're on the summoning screen you can highlight a focus, does that mean when you summon, you'll be picking from whatever's in that focus only? Or is it just more likely to get the ones in it? Like if I highlight family bonds, will I be more likely to get Ephriam and Eirika? How does the focus thing work overall?
  21. http://rubydragoncat.deviantart.com/art/Tales-from-the-shelter-664324986 Just a little collection of stories about my experiences working at an animal shelter. If you have a Deviant Art account you may comment there, otherwise you can post in this thread. Enjoy :)
  22. Lol "she should marry Mark Ruffalo". Great interview and Rena Strober is awesome! I loved learning more about her and her other roles.
  23. Yeah, idk why the oddish line/bellossom isn't in Alola either. Looks good, probably better than I can do on my phone, but then again I've never tried. Love that houndoom! From memory and you still did okay:)
  24. If I was skilled enough at art I'd totes join, but alas, I'm not...
  25. Well idk...it wasn't me who originally thought it after all. I'm just saying I can see the point. He's raspy and kinda high pitched. Agreed on Raigh, he sounds older than he looks.
