  1. Using a Speedwing on Ricken to fix his speed problem isn't a viable option, I do realize you suggest this as a joke, allow me to elaborate on that:

I might as well use my Naga's tear on Donny to fix his base stats, as well as give him a fully forged bronze lance, with Chrom support and assumed 100% dual strike against enemies who have no counter, preferably with Lissa or Maribelle who can rescue him from potential retaliation in form of other enemies. The rescue has been bought from a merchant which spawned prior to chapter 5, of course.

This is so much fun! <3

  2. How can you say a unit which doesn't need battle experience to grow is bad? Demoiselle is not getting enough appreciation methinks.

    Let's compare Ricken to Miriel:

Level HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res
    Miriel 1 18 0 6+2 5 7 6 3 4
    Ricken 3 20 3 8+2 6 5 10 6 3

Miriel joins in chapter 2, Ricken joins in chapter 5.

During these three chapters, he gains 2 hp, 2 magic, 1 skill, 4 luck and 3 defense.

He loses 2 speed and 1 resistance.

He gains less exp than Miriel thanks to his base level being higher.

How is it possible for a lv 3 mage to have 2 less speed than a lv 1 mage? What have the developers been smoking?

Personally I think Ricken is pretty bad. Of course Donnel is the ultimate failure, but that's the whole point of his existence.

  3. ...

I'd like to avoid actual battles with spotpass teams if possible, but this is a nice idea, since I'd essentially just box up random units and spam heal on the one taking damage, which ends up having the same results - whether it's a spotpass skirmish or a regular chapter. Thanks for the input!

  4. Hello!

The purpose of this post is to ask for advice about a choice I have to make.

I'm done with ch. 4 (L+), got a rescue from a merchant and now find myself wondering whether I should do ch. 5 before paralogue 1 in an attempt to give Maribelle some quality time healing in the latter.

    These are my units:

Name lv. HP Str Mag Skl Spd Lck Def Res Weapon Ranks

    Chrom 6.19 25 10 2 12 13 7 10 4 Swd: D

    Robin 16.17 32 13 15 11 17 16 16 8 Swd/Tme: C

    Lissa 9.29 24 4 11 8 7 14 4 9 Stf: C

    Miriel 7.61 23 1 10+2 7 13 9 3 4 Tme: C

    Fred 2.48 29 14 2 13 10 6 15 4 Swd/Axe: D, Lnc: A.

All other units are at base.

  5. Sloth: If no actions were made during a turn, you win +3 Res/Def for the next turn

Might be difficult to implement like this into the game as a mechanic, it would probably work like a usable action (like dance, using a staff, rally) and give a stat increase. it's like a self targeted special dance for defensive stats, could be named differently but I like the concept. It's the most balanced skill among your suggestions for sure.

  6. Not sure if it's easily doable without using drugs from the shop, but my ~160 stats Dark Knight MU could handle about 7 of the enemies before he got killed, just for reference.

Nowi could handle 9 enemies, but if you position her as a vanguard in the forest tile, she will get focused by 4 archers and is likely going to die. ~110 stats without dragonstone at the time, I gave her +4 speed/+5 hp permanently from permanent stat boosters.

She did have a ~170 stats Donnel as a pair-up with Eirika's though, so most enemies died after 1 attack and two dual strikes, she was able to double about half the enemies. Rally Spectrum trivialized most of the fights.

After the chapter they had the following stats:

GreatL lv 6 Chrom(20 Lord into GL) 113 total stats.

GreatK lv 4 Sumia (PK11->DF15->GK) 174 total stats.

    Donnel Hero 6 (Villager15->Merc10->Hero) 180 total stats.

    27 Nowi 121 total stats. w/o dragonstone 156 with.

    MU lv 3(18 Tac->15 GM->DarkK.) 168 total stats.

    Cordelia lv 7 (PK11->DF) 110 total stats.
Sully lv 3 Paladin (Cav17->Paladin) 109 total stats
Vaike lv 6 Hero (Fight16->Hero) 118 total stats.
    That was the basic setup.
    Question about Donnel!Nah:
There is nothing Nowi could pass on so I'm thinking of pushing her through some advanced class upon reaching her 30th level, but I'm not certain which one would be the best, thinking of Wyvern Lord for Swordbreaker to get Swordbreaker+Sol/Axebreaker Nah.
TL;DR: Getting Cynthia right after her chapter is unlocked is definitely doable on regular lunatic without any dlc.
  7. In an attempt to make archer classes worthwhile I came up with this one a while ago. Not sure if 2 weeks since the last post is considered a necro.

    Penetrating Arrows/Expose Weakness/<Archest Archer>
Grants the archers shots a penetrating effect, allowing him to always ignore the enemies defense by an amount equal to his skill/4 for archers, skill/3 for snipers. Bows only.

  8. Someone's got a temper. Terra's comment isn't even that big of a knife unless you're really that invested. Then again, if anyone's got streetpass e-peen waving, no one can compare to me. I have a youtube channel and playlist for unpromoted, no support couples kicking your sorry maxed out asses.

I just dislike it when people ridicule me for the way I approach games, that's all. And that post was obviously written in a provocative way, so I let myself get baited and responded in kind. I don't mind getting a warning for that, either. It's justified. He had it coming, I did as well.

Sorry for derailing the topic, but you reminded me of something when you mentioned your channel.

2 months ago you gave a statement in one of your comments, on this video: Fire Emblem: Awakening - Streetpass Battle #8 - Tactician Town

Well, I have to admit, I am curious to how this will go without Limit Breaker.

I have a save for this.

I'd like to see that if you have some time to spare, it would help me become a better player.

Nothing I can chuck at them is going to be more difficult, in an appropriately-prepared environment, than an organic L+ CLA ingame run. If they need challenge, they can go there instead of having Risen Encounter: The Glorified Waifu Exhibition.

I'm positive my team is more dangerous than your average risen encounter, if only for brave weapon spam and focus on hit rating.

I did a mix shop/stats thing so that if people want to recruit my avatar I'm going to at least try to make them pay attention, but if they want to shop that's fine too.

    Got enough slots for everything.

The same as I did then.

  9. I apologize if I came off as immediately condescending, but FE veterans need to get off the bashing the game for giving freedom. The difficulty not being standard or being designed to be appealing to a wide audience and not making them feel special enough is the vibe I get from that kind of opinion.

You just jumped to a conclusions, for which I am at least partly responsible for because my post didn't provide enough reasoning.

#71 didn't come off as condescending to me, there is no need to apologize for you. Based on your reactions, my post (#74) cleared up the misunderstanding. If so, that's all I could ask for. Sorry for the misconception.

  10. It's just the fact that I can't help feel a bit foolish for trying to make the game hard when it can be made easy instead, efficiency etc.

I just wish there were less ways to completely rip the game's balance to shreds, that would improve the overall experience. ymmv.

I might be just selfish, if that's the case, please forgive me for that.

  11. I do not remember those days since this is my first FE game. Clearing the game with Avatar and Chrom as a duo on Lunatic within a few hours as soon as wireless features get unlocked is not something that should happen in my opinion.

The fact that this behavior only get's punished on lunatic+ feels like an insult to me.

I'm saying that as somebody who wants to let all his recruited characters experience combat, this includes even plebs like virion. If you're bored enough, you could read a discussion I had with somebody over on gamefaqs, starts on page 3 the topic is miriel vs virion, essentially, here is a link.

  12. I went the Item Shoppe route as well; I tried to balance clutch ingame stuff, important Apo prep, and exclusive items. Generally, it was the very best D/C rank weapons, the top-tier weapons you're strapped to access ingame, boosters/seals, and exclusives needed for Apotheosis. More fun than trying to wave your StreetPass dick around.

I can respect that you're goodie two shoes who wants to 'help' people, but please keep your uncouth opinion to yourself if all you do is judge others on basis of some random incentive you came up with on the fly. I can load up my team with useless overpriced items just fine, some people might not need that though, for those I have a little challenge which can be completed in a matter of minutes.

Maybe I should replace those items with two Naga's tears or spam* Supreme Emblems to provide sanctimonious hypocrites like you with a raison d’être.

    Edit*

  13. I assume you're talking about class overlap for children. This basically means that the class the father is going to pass to the child is already being inherited by it through her/his mother or one of the child's base classes ergo this applies to the classes' skills as well.

E.g. Cynthia already has the Pegasus Knight class from her mother, so this would overlap with the PK that Donnel/Gaius/Robin grant their daughters.

  14. There is a total of three known timelines:

World line α doesn't spawn any more Grima after his defeat at the hands of Robin. Awakening's true end.
World line β happens after Chrom chooses to lay Grima to rest with the help of the Exalted Falchion. Awakening's good end.
World line γ: Grima is victorious because the children failed to perform the awakening. A future Past timeline.

There was no Morgan among the children in the γ timeline, hence it failed. Naga realizes this unknown factor has to be the key to success. Thus she makes Morgan the linchpin of her plot,

Naga is no god, but she can travel through time. She knows of the β timeline*.

Naga travels to the β timeline. She finds no Morgan. In fact Morgan is gone because β Robin still has the Fellblood in him, which means β Morgan has Fellblood as well, enabling γ Grima to seduce him/her into her/his servant. This happened to two different β timelines, the only difference between them being Morgan's gender. This is the explanation for the two Morgan's in the γ timeline.
Naga conceives the possibility of the α timeline and travels into this future, which in itself is a time paradox by the way. Just Naga things
*When the cast of Awakening encounters Naga for the first time, she states herself that she is no god because she doesn't have the power to create things herself, but her power is basically omnipotent, hence people calling her divine.
Morgan encounters Naga in the α timeline and learns the truth, agrees to Naga's plan to travel to the past, which was what enabled his/her current self to travel to the past because he/she already succeeded, since his/her own timeline was the ultimate proof.
In other words, he/she knows that he/she would succeed since being able to know she succeeds means she already succeeded in the past, enabling her existence.
To summarize, this is a loophole.
    .
Morgan the genius - since he/she is basically a sleeper demigod him/herself - swiftly grasps all the intricacies of the plan, including the above mentioned time paradox it creates.
As long as this time paradox does not have a proper solution, time travel is definitely not a possibility. The appearance of a contradiction would mean the collapse of the principle of causality, the crumble of the theory of relativity, and even the breakdown of all the laws of physics.
With the help of Naga, Morgan wants to travel back in time to save the α timeline*.
This would create a grandfather paradox.
Thus, Morgan's memories have to be wiped to some extent to prevent the literal collapse of the universe. This explains Morgan's character archetype: He/she is intelligent and an airhead at the same time, some sparks of his/her former genius still remain even after the memory-wipe.
With the help of Naga, Morgan travels back in time to save the α timeline. (*déjà vu much?)
Ultimately, Naga trusts in the strong bond between Morgan and Robin to overcome the memory loss.
This is in line with the words Naga uttered right before the end of the game, in that there is a small chance that Robin might survive after he/she kills Grima. Robin's survival is pivotal for the success of the plan, since it will result in Morgan's birth.
  15. Kamidori-skill-flurry3.png

    連撃Ⅲ

    Flurry III

25% chance to strike twice in a single combat round.

    For Lunatic+

Corrode: Weapons used against this unit lose 2 usages instead of one.

    Ragnaros anyone? :D

sacrifice- heals allied units with users health

resolve- increases atk, spd, and skl when hp is 20% or below

slow start- decreases all stats by 75% for first 5 turns then they double on the 6th

Sacrifice looks fine, the other two are hopelessly broken.

Edit: accidental double post. Couldn't find the delete button.
