  1. Where do you even get the money to forge a +4, let alone +7, without DLC on Nohr?
  2. There's no label in this game, so you don't have to worry about that.
  3. Awakening Hard is pretty fun to play without Second Seal (i.e no infinite level ups and reclassing) and grinding. Though when you get the children they'll carry the game for you.
  4. I could care less about the removal of weapon durability but I'm seriously enraged at the lack of unique weapon icons. ...Yeah I'm weird like that. Also, am I the only one who thinks that the interface of this game looks kinda ugly? :X
  5. This is the first time that I hear a complaint about Awakening Hard mode being too hard (let alone requires grinding to complete), most of the times people have been saying that it's too easy. Fates' difficulty jump from Normal to Hard is pretty much the same as Awakening's, however Lunatic is closer to Hard this time around.
  6. Unbreakable weapons isn't exactly a problem in Conquest since you don't really get much money to buy many of them anyways. Higher level weapons have limited stocking (unless using DLC) and somewhat severe penalty for using them. You will find yourself using Iron or Steal in the majority of your game. I'm not exactly a veteran and I don't know what's the kind of game you're into, so I'm not sure what to vote.
  7. ^ You may wanna put that in spoiler tags.
  8. Imagine stripping William and Hormone...
  9. It's really unnecessary because you can already strip these people in the bathhouse and accessory shop anyway (where you can also zoom in and observe them closely...), and people often buy more than one route so them not being playable isn't really a problem. Unless the weapons are meant for generic enemies, in which case it's more like fan-disservice.
  10. Wow, he's old! HAPPY BIRTHDAY VINCENT!!!
  11. I don't claim that its complexity is well-handled, but there's a level of complexity regardless.
  12. Objectively, Fates does have a complex story. What it lacks is logic.
  13. My "dodge tank" Kamui got killed at 14% hit rate. RNG be damned.
  14. Now a guilty confession: I actually used Suzukaze a lot to kill Hoshidan enemies in my Nohr playthroughs. And I somehow feel good about it because they're so annoying lol.
  15. Well, to name a few: Kamui, Aqua, Camilla, Suzukaze and to a lesser extent, Marx and Felicia. They all turned out in the worst possible ways that I could ever imagine. But since I don't want to derail yet another topic with my negativity, let's just leave it at that lol.
  16. Yeah this lol. The game has done a very good job of ruining a lot of my favorite characters, or people who otherwise have a lot of potentials. But still, I can't bring myself to hate those characters, even though my rational mind keeps reminding me that they're utter shits.
  17. Yes, even within the classes that are considered good against mages, not everyone has high enough res, which makes the few units superior in that stat stand out even more. Like I wouldn't use Ninja!Saizou and to fight magic users for example, when I already have Suzukaze. It's also worth noting that in Nohr, most units aren't viable options for a dodge build, and you just can't trust this game's RNG. Not many have spectacular res either, even if they're not generals. I think when someone labels a unit as a good mage killer, they're more or less emphasizing on the safety and efficiency when using such a unit to counter magic attacks, especially for tanking/killing on enemy phase. On player phase, if the target mage is within range and there's no additional threat nearby that's able to kill you, you can just use a powerful physical unit to ORKO or even OHKO said mage. Though in this situation, sending a mage killer also works, for obvious reasons.
  18. Mages usually come in groups. Sometimes the game requires you to tank them. More often than not, they're also mixed with physical units, so you need to deal with both at the same time, but your bulky units often have low res to counter magic attacks. The fact that some 1-2 range physical weapons like Javelin cannot double attack is also an important factor, because the target mage might still be alive, so they are inherently inferior to hidden weapons. That's not to say the people who're usually regarded as "mage killers" don't have any other use, or cannot kill other types of enemies.
  19. I'm pretty sure you can still skip it regardless of whether you're playing the first time or not.
  20. My "self restriction" while playing Nohr Lunatic: > No reclassing, no children, no using My Castle to buy skills and weapons or to recruit other people's units > Fuck this shit, I'll reclass to learn more skills. Still won't use children and My Castle. > If I cannot beat chapter 21 in the next 4 days, I'll start stuffing skills to my characters via MC. > If I cannot beat this thing, I'll outright drop the difficulty to Hard Mode XD
  21. I regret wasting my Rescue staves on Shinonone in his paralogue. I shall not make the same mistake again with Ignis.
