  1. Okay, after finally getting FEditor working, I started work on a little hacking project of mine that I won't go into detail about because if I can get some help figureing this out, there will soon be a seperate thread all about this project.

Anyway, how do you turn your work into a IPS patch so I can make it availible for download here.

Also, does one have to use dropbox or can you use a direct download link on this site.

honestly, I know these are likely stupid questions but outside of a few youtube videos YEARS ago, this will be my first time uploading anything here other than a post

If it helps, the hack is of FE 6, don't know if that matters.

  2. No, but that was more due to how tedious the opening chapters of HHM became without Marcus or Oswin plugging a gap.

I would really like to know if its possible so I would like to try again someday, tho you might as well throw LTC out the window if you're thinking of trying this, it's not going to happen

  3. Lol seems fun haha.

So after s ranking the game, it seems beating it in a ridiculously low number of turns is the next main challenge right?

Or you could do what I did and try beating FE 7 using only the Lords

Challenge runs I enjoy are the most unusual ideas I can come up with. Such as Pure Classic Awakening, Lords only FE 7, Roy and staff bots only FE 6, and Pegasus only mode in Shadow Dragon.

If you want in depth discriptions of any of these feel free to ask.

Ike only POR is enjoyable too.

  4. I don't see why Nino can't search for Jaffar more than once, IIRC, Jaffar ran away from Nino due to bounty hunters, not because Jaffar felt like joining some assassins.

The problem with that is how the tale ended, Nino mentions that Eliwood is going to provide Pheraen knights to protect them. Unless Pherae's knights suddendly become highly incompetant post Merlinus' tale, I doubt Jaffar would feel the need to run away again. That and Nino says in her convo with Canas that Jaffar ran away to protect her so...

Crap, I'm ranting again. This is the first game or hack or anything really I've bug reported on often so if it seems like I'm ranting, please be aware this isn't my intention.

  5. nice, now we have FE4 AI stuff

Great, since I seem to be the only one who absolutely HATED that about FE 4's AI

In all seriousness tho, in Pent's second tale Nino is searching for Jaffar BEFORE they wed and had children.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the reason Lugh and Raigh are in the orphanage because of Nino leaveing to hunt Jaffar in this VERY tale.

I apoligize if this came out as a rant as that wasn't my intention, as I want to help this project out as much as possible and can't profrom any hacking aid due to me being a noob hacker. If you want a noob hacker on the team for this or Exalted Legacy I'm game Arch. So I'm reporting any bugs or story flaws I find(that are oversights anyway) in a attempt to help.

  6. ...What does this even mean?!

Notice how every chapter of a Fire Emblem game thats not named Awakening or on the NES has a world map scene where the game basically tells you whats going to happen in that chapter. Thats the narration I was talking about. Awakening disposed of this in telling its story, which results in two somewhat paradoxical things, One, the writing seemed better done cause you, the player, have no clue whats coming next(whereas other FE's hint at whats coming in narration) and two, the games plot feels one-sided and lacking.

put simply, the great writing is the tuxedo and the poor plot is the goat

It dosen't matter how great a new system of writing is, a poor plot is a poor plot and FE is a series that has NEVER responded well to change.

However forgoing the World Map scequences could work with FEif assuming you are allowed to chose sides, this is the only way world building in FE could work without World Map Narration

  7. Writing has long been used to refer to how a story is told.

Explain what's better in Awakening than past FEs when it comes to writing.

It's simple really, Awakening, instead of outright telling you whats going on with narration, instead has the characters carry the plot forward entirely. Which results in two things, one things like the Grimleal are left unexplained due to the main characters being the only POV you see, and two, the plot feels more like it's presently happening than other FE games which have a historian narrate the war to you.

They literally put a texedo on a goat, and expected it to be anything other than a goat in a tuxedo.

This method of storytelling would work much better in FE IF assumeing you can pick sides, due to this being the proper way to world build without haveing to point out various things thru narration.

  8. Grandbell was the aggressor for all of the Augustria chapters. They could have just sat happily on their borders, but went in and took over because a) Sigurd wanted to help Eltshan and b) Reptor wanted to take over.

Okay, both of these points are true I concede that, but you're kinda forgetting that the reason Eldigan needed saving anyway was because Shagall had just ordered an invasion of Verdane. Eldigan was just captured due to him not agreeing with the invasion, and Nordion was then looted which is why Sigurd even gets involved.

  9. In FE4, your country was the aggressor who was looking for any reason to invade back and sized upon the transgression to mount a full invasion and takeover. In FE13 your country is just chilling and they come out of nowhere, and you strike back in the name of freedom and justice and whatnot. They're pretty different scenarios.

Actually, Grannvale struck back at Verdane in a counterstrike after Verdane invaded Grannvale. Grannvale wasn't an aggressor, Agustria overreacts and attempts to take Verdane, making them the aggressor there. Grannvale wasn't an aggressor until chapter 3, and even then Agustria holds some blame.

  10. Okay, basically FE13 did to FE4 what Binding Blade did to FE1.

It dosen't even take much thought to realize it honestly, so heres a long list of plot simularities.

    1. Country made up entirely of barbarians invades home country.

    2. Main character counter invades said barbarian country.

    3. It's found out that there's a cult of dark dragon worshippers behind the scenes

    4. Main character falls in love in barbarian country.

    5. Barbarian country is defeated by invaded country.

    6. Timeskip

    7. Main characters have children who become main characters

    8. Country known for its cavlary invades your country

    9. big somewhat pointless war is fought with this country

    10. It's found out that the dark dragon worshippers are behind both conflicts

    11. Dark Dragon Cult gains power in a major country

    12. Said Dark Dragon is resurrected in a human vessel

    13. Deadlords

    14. Chrom literally looks like discount Sigurd

    15. Judrali holy weapons, unlike the games other legendaries, are obtained in the main plot

    16. Lucina is discount Seliph

    17. Potential Incest among the second gen

    18. Mid bosses carry legendary weapons

    19. Betrayal be leader of eventual dark cultist country

    20. Regna Ferox is discount Silesse

There's more but I don't want to be here all morning

  11. well OP lets be real, nothing makes sense in awakening and nothing is explained in full detail.

we gotta keep things simple for the new brand of sheep waifu fans that'll keep the glorious series alive and therefore we can say no wrong about it!

with that said, anyone that it does bring into the series that also checks out the other games is super cool in my book, its not an overall bad game, but i definitely hate it.

Confession time awakening was my first FE

However after killing wallet to play the rest of the us FE's, I rank Awakening at 3rd best in the series. 7 and POR are both better games but awakening is a step up from RD and SD in my opinion.

Edit:And I keep forgetting that SS exists so its below Awakening too

  12. It's kinda simple honestly, Validar, the head of the Grimleal, became king of a country. Natrually, his religion became the state religion. That, and Hot Spring Scramble and other various dialouge in game shows that worship of Grima was commonplace beforehand in Plegia. As for a plot reason for their beliefs, the majority are summed up by Validar and Aversa at the Dragon's Table (or elsewhere, not completely sure). Ylissee's victory drove people to Grima.

If you need a real world equivelant to this hypocracy, then look to Lybia. Revolution fought to oust Islamic dictator Qudaffi(sorry if I butchered that spelling) only to bring in leaders who only do worse and bring in more war.

For this religion's purpose, someone already pointed out Satanism, and that was my first conclusion playing this game, so I'm going with that

  13. Another bug from Kent's tale, well two actually

In the northern village where Sain, Dorcas, and Natilie show up, the villager mentions stealing a staff, but he gives you a smithing kit instead of the staff he says he's giving you.

While Kent is paired with Fiora, everyone bar Kent and Fiora mentions Lyn like she is there, which if Lyn was paired with Kent this would make sense, but Lyn isn't there otherwise so why do they keep referring to her.

Steller work as always tho, Arch, this is honestly the best rom hack I've ever played

EDIT: well the first ones already been reported so I apoligize

  14. Arch, In Kent's tale, If you attempt to trigger the conversation between Kent and Fiora while paired, you get Sonia's death quote instead of a conversation.

While downright halarious(if your as twisted as me) it's obviously a bug that isn't listed on FEuniverse so here I am bug reporting

  15. Those rings confuse the HECK out of me because I buy into the Nils is Forseti theroy, but the rings are clearly dragon relics, heck Ninian outright says Ninis grace was a gift from her mother,(who SPOILER ALERT is both dead and married to Nergal).

So those rings are in my opinion another example of fanservice confusing people who overanalize everything, like me

  16. Hmm, I wonder tho if they did need to use as much quientessence tho, considering Einherjar are possibly upgraded versions of morphs they possibly woudn't need as much quintessence due to not always having to maintain human form, similer to the manaketes and their inability to maintain dragon forms, Einherjar don't need nearly as much quientessence as morphs due to their card forms not requireing much if any energy to maintain.

  17. New theory, Einherjar cards are created using the same magic as Morphs.

This actually explains Chrom's dialouge at the end of Lost Bloodlines 3.

"The grasses here have seen enough red"

this quip always confused me because I assumed that when defeated Einherjar just become Cards again and therefore don't bleed.Unless you actually let someone die monster. However, Morths as far as can be told in a E-rated game DO bleed, so if the Einherjar are upgraded morths it explains this inconsistancy.
