When I first heard about this feature, I was confused, but I accepted it after a while. Now hearing that it's out, I must say that while it is unfortunate that we are losing any sort of feature, but I can't say I'm sad it's this one. It just dissapoints me to see Fire Emblem being associated with the "waifu" aspect of the game. Dont get me wrong, I played Awakening a lot and I probably wont mind it in Fates, but when half of the articles you see online about the game are about this one aspect that is really just a minor feature, it dissapoints me that FE has lost it's old reputation as a "challenging but rewarding RPG" in favor of "Waifu Simulator". It was OK for a game or two, but I'd like to see a gradual renewal of more classic FE aspects. The skinshipping honestly just seems like it doesnt belong in Fire Emblem. Not hating on the feature or anything, but it really just is out of place here. There are plenty of other games for things like that.

I love the gba animations. They may not be realistic, but they're fun to watch, and thats what the animations should be if you are forced to watch them (or turn them off entirely). That said, Roy's non-Binding Blade animation is just.... really rough. Especially after playing FE7 first and comparing Roy to Eliwood. He holds it weird and does an awkward looking upwards angled stab.

For Fire Emblem to become more popular than Pokemon, it would probably have to change a few mechanics. Your entire army could be made up of multiple copies of a single unit if you want. Recruitment will be RNG based, but you can increase your odds by dealing damage to them.- "I refuse to join". *stabs him* "OK now I'll join you" All new characters can be given a nickname And once FE is more popular than Pokémon, we might get a new game(s) every year, though with fewer variations between games, but we'd all be ok with that.

I vote FE4. Some great plot points to make jokes about there. Also good job on the first one, keep it up.

The 3rd is when the ballot ends, meaning that will be the soonest they can tally the votes (unless there was a clear winner a while ago and these last few days mean nothing, but that seems unlikely). Once they tally the votes, they can do one of several things: They could do a Mewtwo-esque reveal where we basically just learn that he is coming eventually, they can wait a bit and get a proper character working and release a full trailer like for other characters, or just announce that the whole smash ballot was a joke and they were trolling us. Either way, we probably wont know for a little while after the 3rd

So there are A LOT of people who think FE is way over represented in smash, but let me give my take on it. People want more characters from popular series' like Metroid, Donkey Kong, and others. However, when you compare these series' to Fire Emblem, you can see they are very different in that Fire Emblem gets new protaganists with every game or two, and so people might be a bit mad if the main character of a fairly popular Nintendo series was not included, and so they put these characters in when they are relevant: Roy in melee, Ike in Brawl, and Robin in Sm4sh. Marth is in because he is THE FE character, and Lucina is a direct clone and barely took any time to make. Now, look at a series like Metroid for example. Looking at their character list, you have Samus, the protaganist, and..... Ridley? And maybe some side characters that were in one game. Comparing those minor characters to the main characters of FE, it becomes clear hich one is more deserving of a spot. Is Metroid more deserving of a character slot that FE? Probably at this point. Is a minor Metroid character more deserving of a slot than FE's new protaganist? Probably not. Judge the characters, not the series, and that doesnt just apply to Metroid, but any series being considered for smash.

FE1: See FE11 FE2: Beat once on normal mode FE3: See FE12 FE4: Beat twice FE5: Working on it.... Honestly not liking it so far, and I'm pretty far in FE6: Beat 3 times FE7: Beat like, maybe 7 times? It was a lot FE8: Beat almost as many times as 7 FE9: Beat twice in like a month while I was borrowing it from a friend FE10: Beat like 4 times on easy and once on normal FE11: Beat twice FE12: Beat once FE13: Beat like 7 or 8 times on varying difficulties FE14: I'm probably going to end up playing this one like, at least 10 times based on the different routes and whatnot. I want it now.

What we need are mounts that function like their own unit but can let other units ride them. Like you know that one level in RD with the NPC horses? Have it like that only with various mounts that are allied to either side. Anyone can ride one, but some units get stat boosts when riding and some get penalties depending on their class. When you dismount, you end up with two separate units, so you can potentially mount up another character. Imagine how amazing a mechanic like this would be

Gaiden would probably be the best, but... NES. So I say it's got to go to Fates. Have you heard that track from when you face the Marth Amiibo? Sooo good. 4 is really good too, but again, is too SNESy to take the prize.

I used it in multiple games before, but it usually was very impractical. However, I found that in Gaiden, there were many times I was able to use it where it actually was

I have like, e-Levin more puns, and Altenna the rest are pretty good too.

The second to last map of FE6 (right before the final boss). Maybe not the map itself, but you had Jahn telling you the back story of the dragons and whatnot as you progress through the level, which really heightened anticipation for the final boss. It just has a really epic atmosphere

I don't recall seeing blood in FE since that part in the beginning of FE6 where they gave Hector a special bloody sprite.That was before FE came to the West

Quick (non-spoilery) question for anyone who has seen/played the game already: Without going into detail, is recruitment just having the main lord talk to the character like in Awakening, or is it more complex like older games?

yeah that's what I'm planning on first time around. No resets, no looking up answers.

I'm going to start with Hoshido/Normal/Phoenix.... JK. I'm going to do Nohr/Normal/Classic, but no resetting. I have always wanted to do a no reset run, but I'm saving it for a first play through. It should be fun.

For me, it's got to be Shaman in the Dark from FE6 and pretty much every song from gaiden. Those sounded great even on the NES

FE has a fairly large pool of songs to pick from when it comes to what they will put in the concert. What specific songs do you want to hear in a new, remade form in this concert?

I'm pleased with how this was handled. I knew I would be fine with it so long as not a whole bunch of people were bisexual or whatever. It really would just be unrealistic and annoying, but this is fine.

In response to the whole name simplification thing, if we're being honest, there will be a lot of kids playing this game, seeing as it is a Nintendo game, and I'm sure they know this. I'm not defending them at all, it honestly shouldn't even matter if people mispronounce a name in Fire Emblem. I know I have on many occasions, and I know I'm not the only one. In a different topic, did anyone else find it annoying how she kept talking about how Felicia was a bad maid but an awesome fighter? Because that caused them to really ONLY use Felicia and Corrin, plus the fact that Felicia doesn't really seem like a "beastly" combat unit like she kept saying. She was frail and not too strong and it just annoyed me.
