That would be really awesome. I was a huge fan of the different forms in fe3/12, and I always wondered what it would be like if you could have a unit change their stats from str based to mag based using equipment.

Speaking of binding blade, I hope the maps get larger. The 50 enemy limit in Awakening was a serious drag. I miss the giant maps of the GBA and Gamecube games.

So it was hostage exchange.
Well, it was normal for Eastern countries to send children as hostages for... confirmation (We won't attack you, if we'll do something bad, you can kill my son)
Or to show good will (we trust you, so there is my son for some educational purpose)
...Kinda doubt that was 2nd option
Not just eastern countries, it was pretty common in the west and middle east too. Royalty were special and holding one hostage was a good way to ensure a treaty would be upheld.
Yeah, the trailer makes the 2nd option seem unlikely, I mean, Garon pretty much stormed in and took Kamui.
It would be absolutely hilarious if it actually was the second option. Garon just has that evil look about him.

That's an interesting theory, but she doesn't really resemble anyone in the royal family, but then again neither does Kamui.
Yeah. I'm really hoping this is true for two reasons:
1. It would make Hoshido and Nohr nations of more equal strength instead of the usual, cliched "empire of overwhelming might vs. small rebel alliance"
2. It would make the political situation more ethically complicated, as there wouldn't be a clear good and evil. Both sides would have wronged each other.

Hmm, I read some info on another site about the Famitsu leak, which isn't from the available scans.
Apparently Aqua is in the reverse situation as the Avatar; she's the princess of Nohr taken prisoner by Hoshido.
To clarify, this hasn't been confirmed yet.
Does it make any sense though? It sounds like an interesting prospect anyway, for multiple reasons. One, Hoshido isn't always doing nice stuff and two, Aqua probably has dragon blood if the Famitsu blurb is accurate.
Whoa, wait, Aqua is the princess of Nohr? Taken prisoner by Hoshido? That's an awesome complication of the story!!!!
So much for the "peace-loving" Hoshido. They're not above taking hostages either, eh?

I think, and mind you, I don't have anything to back this up, but I think that Orochi might be a mage, and it's just that Hoshido mages look different. Like, Nohr mages use traditional western magic, and Hoshido mages use... taoist style?

Post S-rank support would be amazing!!
Because even Hollywood has never been able to accurately portray what it's like to be in a happy, committed relationship.
FE awakening kinda came close, the hotsprings DLC and all....

Omg necromancy. Like in Fe8. That would be awesomely broken.
-
I'm pretty sure they will have faction locked classes, which would be interesting.
I'm glad to see stuff getting gender unlocked, female fighters are awesome.
Still, it looks like Nohr is getting the cooler classes. Wyvern riders as opposed to pegasus knights, dark knights, etc.
Hoshido's got.... ninjas?

Ok, let's chill the hate train.
Just like casual mode, phoenix mode is still OPTIONAL. If you don't like it, DON'T USE IT.
Just like if you want a challenge, choose the Nohr campaign. There's nothing wrong with giving my 8-year old cousin a game he can handle, so we can both bond over it. I'm fine with it, as long as the main game is still good.

8-4? Huh. Well, that explains it. Nintendo has historically done a pretty good job of localization, so I was wondering.
-
If they change Marx to Carl, I'm going to laugh.

There definitely will be some. There always is the one token name change.
In awakening there were some that I liked better and some that I didn't like as much, but that's how it always is with translations.
Seriously, though, who in NOA looked at Panne and said "You know what, I think her name, which means 'soft fur' makes too much sense. Let's change it to a word that means 'bread.'"
-
Yes, you can get the two versions on one cartridge. The Special edition in Japan, the one that has all three plus the art book, has both the black and white games on the SAME cartridge. The third campaign is DLC.

It just occurred to me: Does he have someone to dye his goatee? Or does he do it himself?
These questions will always remain.
-
Physical, of course. It's way cheaper than shelling out for the ridiculously overpriced memory cards. I'll definitely get the special edition, if it comes out in NA, just so I can have both games on one gamecard.

From what I understand of the general FE story, the earth dragons aren't inherently evil, nor are the other dragons inherently good. The earth dragons refused to accept the fact that they were fated to die, and fought against the humans. All of the earth dragons except Medeus refused to use the dragon stones to seal their powers away (which is why they're so much more powerful than other dragons) and so they were driven insane. Medeus wanted revenge against the humans for his people's suffering, so he became the "bad guy" of the games.
This is true in all game series except for the Tellius series. In the Elibe series, the same back story is retold.
Loptyr, on the other hand, was evil from the beginning, and found an alternative to using the dragon stones by forming a blood pact, and gaining semi-immortality.
It is heavily implied in awakening that Grima, therefore, performed a similar ritual to Loptyr, but much to everyone's disappointment, the story doesn't explain why Grima was willing to form a pact with humans, who the original pactmakers were, how he became a dark dragon, what dragon he was before he became a dark dragon (I think divine, just because of his wings). I mean, did he try to take over the continent before he made the pact? After he made the pact? This is the interesting stuff, Intelligence!
Edit: Btw, there are evil divine dragons. Idounn being the most obvious example, and I think grima was originally divine too.
I would love to see Kamui be an earth dragon, I feel like Robin got cheated in awakening. We never got to see his dragonly might.
-
I hope so. I wasn't a fan of awakening's dragons, I'd love to see other designs.
Kamui: Replacing Rudolph as the world's most awesome reindeer.

Oops. Yeah, I missed that one.

Yes. My mom's favorite stoneware olive oil dispenser got a crack in it, and I spent four hours searching online for the exact same one and couldn't find it. I had to settle for getting her a similar one from Williams and Sonoma.

I'm from North Carolina. Great state to live in, you've got the mountains and the beach all in the same place.

Agreeing with what was said above, I think it'd be way more interesting if Garon actually cared about his children, including the avatar, and was a complex character instead of just one-dimensional evil. I was really disappointed when I saw his design. His beard is ridiculous. Why does he have a black goatee ON TOP OF A BEARD??? WHY????

The battle dialogue makes up so little of the game it doesn't count, in my opinion.
They certainly translated the entire new campaign for the first time, and they did retranslate much of the original (a lot of lines and references are more concise now), but yeah, that's a good point, they would have already had the battles and menus translated. I wonder what takes more effort to translate?

Crazy thought, what if you can kill the horses? That would be so dark..... (and could possibly explain the rating)
Armor breaking..... I have no idea how that's going to work. Do you lose defense? Gain speed?
Possible Character Name Changes in the NA Versions?

Yeah, Marx was demonized a lot in the 50s, mostly because communists used his ideas.
But just like Charles Darwin never actually supported the Theory of Evolution (the idea that men evolved from monkeys), just the theory that animals develop new traits through natural selection, people often incorrectly associate Marx with the Soveit Union.
