I'm mainly using Rhys and Mist as healers, I'm going to keep them out of combat since all my other units can handle that. I was thinking about an earlier promotion so that they could at least defend themselves and have a better chance of surviving. Rhys might make a good magical wall but I'm not even going to try and use him as an offensive unit.
Also Boyd seems to have 11 resistance right now as a level 3 warrior.

Anyway I had an earlier savestate around chapter 8, now I'm at chapter 11 and using savestates while using the ingame save at the base. No problems doing this so far. Good thing right now is that Boyd is almost ready to promote, where as he was near ready to promote at chapter 15. I'm thinking of giving the master seals to Rhys and mist, I hear there are powerful magic users later on in MM, is this true?

There is, Gotoh gives you the Starsphere if you have the 12 orbs. You need the Starsphere, Lightsphere, Geosphere, and Lifesphere if you want to get past chapter 20. Having those 4 spheres causes Hardin to drop the Darksphere which completes the shield of seals.

Eliwood: Actually they were jealous for the fact that we had red hair.
Mah Boyd, is this axe(Urvan) what all true warriors strive for?
-
Est: I don't know any Rody, but there's this guy here named Leaf...
Darros, why are you in a fire dragon graveyard?
-
Ike: Can I still solo the game?
Samto, what would happen if you were to meet Shanam?
-
Lakche: Sounds like a fair fight.
Barst, do you feel like being a hero?
-
Bal, I think you're right about that. It seems there's no way for me to play that save anymore. Can anyone possibly upload a Manic Mode save(around chapter 15) through memory card format, I believe those files are found in the user/GC folder.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate thread to say this but...
I got up to chapter 15 on MM, the level was working fine originally but when I load my save the screen is black and there's no menu or anything. I'm using Dolphin 2.0, what can I do to fix this issue? What version are you guys using to play this?

From what it seems personality wise:
The Cain (red knight) archetype is the more aggressive and reckless guy - according to the site description Luke could qualify for that, but Cecil could too because it mentions that she gets into fights easily and hates to lose.
The Abel (green knight) archetype is the more calm and reserved guy - according to the site description Rody qualifies for this.
Typically these two archetypes appear together at the beginning of the game, but there are some exceptions like FE9 where Oscar (Green) appeared at least a couple chapters separate from Kieran (Red). In FE7 these two were switched around where Sain was the reckless one but wore green armour, and Kent was the more calm one but wore red armour. Same thing in FE4 with Alec and Noish.

Few of Mine:
Barst: Barst the Beast
Roger: Pink haired tank, armoured strawberry(yeah I know this one is really rediculous)
Warren: the huntsman
Macellan: Big Mac
Dolph: Mr Clean
Sirius: Sirius/Serious Knight(sounds the same either way)
Gotoh: Cool old guy
Lang: The Rapist Complete Monster
Dice: Daddy Dice(I think Colonel M called him this first), Gambling Viking
Malice: Malicious Malice

Some of the below apply after hard mode or higher is beaten
Sirius --> Dracoknight or Swordmaster, though he does fine as a Paladin
Barst --> Fighter/Pirate/Mercenary before promotion, used him as Hero because of swords and axes. Pirate --> Berserker is probably the best route for him.
Draug --> Gets a lot more speed as a cavalier while retaining his lance use, the swords also help
Merric --> Dark Mage for some extra defense
Warren --> Mercenary for building up sword rank if you're planning on promoting him to horseman, you could promote him to Warrior instead (he capped strength) to keep his bow use but he might suffer in speed, he could also benefit a lot by reclassing to sniper after promotion
Luke --> Does good as a cavalier, but reclass him to swordmaster for that extra speed and avoid.

I just want to mention a small detail that was added, enemies with portraits (either recruitable or bosses) now have their hair colour corresponding to a custom palette (or no hair if they're bald). I remember that in SD if an enemy such as Astram could join and you were attacked before talking, he would have brown hair like all the other enemy heroes. For example: in New Mystery when you fight him, you can see that he has blonde hair.

I heard somewhere you have to complete the game on Lunatic to get those additional items in the battle prep armoury.
-
Just want to ask this here, but would Rody be considered part of the Abel archetype while Luke is of the Cain archetype?
-
The Following happened in prologue 7(Cain route)
Win: Caeda/Sheeda dodges an attack from that enemy pegasus knight that would have knocked her out with an 88% chance
Fail: On player phase, she misses that same enemy pegasus knight that she could have killed with a 94% chance and ends up getting knocked out
I restarted because of that...
Examples from my first file on Maniac Casual:
Win: Marth critical hits Medeus with Falchion resulting in his death and me beating the game, Hero Barst doing multiple criticals to Hardin with a brave axe(not in a row)
-
I just finished Maniac (casual) and unlocked event recap, music section, and merged re-classing. Apparently the merged re-classing applies to all current files after you finish the game on the appropriate difficulties(Hard or above I'm guessing). If I'm correct, you have to complete the game on Lunatic in order to buy more items from the preparations shop.

Astram as of now looks a bit tougher, it's definately those spikes(it's strange that he didn't have them in SD, since he had them in the original games).
-
Horace:
Shadow Dragon
New Mystery
Something looks funny about those eyes, as if he's surprised about something.
-
I'll warn you that maniac is pretty difficult, especially on chapter 20 where you have enemy paladins capped in strength and nearly capped in speed, not to mention that a lot of them have spears too.
-
This hasn't been mentioned in this thread yet, but weapon weight was removed. I'm not sure if you would count that as a new feature, or just a changed feature.
-
Enemies don't have forged tomes(in Maniac) is what I'm saying, the player can forge tomes just like in SD.
-
No forged magic as far as I know.
-
Etzel is a pre-promote and apparently has better magic growth than Merric or Linde, he also has surprisingly high defense growth (45%) and 20% resistance growth, he hasn't turned out bad in my current playthrough.
Soul's Maniac Mode playthrough.

Just got to chapter 18, all enemies are promoted except for Wyvern riders who are level 17. I think there are even more longer range magic users here than on previous difficulties.
