  1. Ooh, I like that summoned monsters idea. If a new weapon was made it could a lot of variety to magic classes. Possibly tie it in to the eastern faction, or that skully one. (I don't know why but a summoner just doesn't seem right on the western side.) Make different weapons have different summons, maybe make it so that summoned monsters have a certain duration they can stay on the battlefield affected by magic and weapon rank... Sorry, I got lost in thought for a minute there. Typing all that out made me realize that there is a faction of enemies that have skulls on their helmets. If demon worshipers don't have skull helmets then I don't know what does.
  2. I was wrong, again. (I seem to be making a habit of this don't I?) Thinking about it they could have sort of a Dragon Age: Origins situation where a big, scary, monster causes all the everything to go bad. This in turn causes people to turn against one another for no reason, and this is where the player comes in throwing their lot in with one side or another with peace being a difficult, if possible at all, option. It could be sort of like Sacred Stones in that a demon is controlling things from the background. Personally I hope this game's story doesn't have a big, bad, scary, thing causing everything to go poorly. I'd prefer it if things went bad because people were being people.
  3. I like Awakening's method the best so far. I've played a GBA FE and I found gathering supports there tedious. So, Awakening's method (probably with the change to healing that you described) but with far less people to support; Let's say 2-3. In exchange I'd like to see supports start at an E rank and go up to S, with A, B, and S supports exclusive to one support chain per playthrough. This would solve the "I stumbled upon a ring I guess we're married." problem with supports. I'd also make it so that the bonus to stats you get from supports far smaller. Probably a +1 to one stat while paired up after you get the E support.
  4. Why not? It helps new players get into the game, and I never saw permadeath as something integral to Fire Emblem. I mean, if we were talking about changing the difficulty of Dark Souls I'd say "Forget accesibility!". But we're not, and unless IS changes the tone of Fire Emblem so that permadeath is integral to the setting I think most people would agree. (Albeit I do have limited experience with the series, so there could've been a game where it was integral to the setting.)
  5. Really? I keep seeing good or interesting things about Radiant Dawn. When I get more money I should probably see if I can get a copy. (I want to play more Fire Emblem games anyway, but this one has reached the top of my list of Fire Emblems to buy.)
  6. I agree with the people saying that master seals should be gotten rid of. For people like me who never promote early they just slowed down the game. Reading through this thread I came up with an idea for reclassing. Instead of class specific items allowing units of that class to promote, why not change it so that it allows a unit to become that class (as long as it's in their class set). So for example Kellam could become a thief, but first he'd have to use a skeleton key. It would limit some reclassing shenanigans, and since reclassing isn't likely to go why not make it more interesting?
  7. I was going to say that I wanted a worldmap, but then I realized I just want a way to get the items my units need between chapters. Really I couldn't care less if I didn't have to travel to a specific village to shop, I just want the ability to use gold to restock my characters between chapters.
  8. One thing I think would be cool is if kamui's outfit changed depending on their highest stat growth. Nothing too big, just little things like adding shoulder plates if kamui's highest stat growth is defense. Also please let us have some personality customization, or at the very least a better one. I think something that could help with that is if the MU couldn't support with everyone. More people to support with than everyone else sure, but literally befriending the whole army is ridiculous.
  9. I'd say the gender distinction is worth less. If a female axe user does happen then I would like her to look like a brigand/barbarian/pirate/whatever. The peggie situation is an interesting one. If IS truly cannot make the class gender neutral, then perhaps they could make gryphons male only. It isn't the solution I like the best, but it seems like the most feasible. On a different note do you guys know where I could find these malnourished pirate sprites? They sound silly and I want to see them.
  10. In Awakening it was shown that men can ride pegasi. Although in that case it was because someone that the pegasus trusted introduced the pegasus to the man. Perhaps all you need is for a pegasus to be shown that a woman trusts that man, and you could get a male peggie that way. Much like you I haven't the slightest clue how an odd, sexist, bird-horse thinks.
  11. Normally when arguments like these happen people just come up with dumb reasons for stupid things to continue. I thought that this would be one of them, so thanks for not doing that. And yes there are some pretty ridiculous "feminists" out there. Also male troubadours, make it happen Nintendo.
  12. Personally I'd hand that terrain+ skill to the Soldier, and focus on giving Legionary something that buffs up allies. Now to actually say something on topic: No, I don't believe soldier is coming back. The person in the trailer looked a lot like a knight to me.
  13. I don't see why men and women can't suck equally. It's like I said in an earlier post: I don't care if gender locking means one gender gets broken classes. The problem I have with it is that it arbitrarily stops someone from being something for no good reason.
  14. My problem with gender locked classes isn't that one gender becomes overpowered, it's that it arbitrarily stops one gender from being something for no good reason. For example why can't women be berserkers? The class is literally just an axe user that doesn't care much for defense. Does having boobs somehow stop you from getting reckless? Does the feminine jawline make it too hard to strap the skull to your head? If so that could easily be solved by making a woman like Sully or Echidna.
  15. Legionary sounds pretty good. Makes it sound like the most durable of the single weapon classes which is cool to me. You could give them a bit of both the resistance tank and dodge tank roles to reflect this, maybe some support skills...At this rate I'm going to have to make my own class list soon. Don't forget about the bonfires confirmed a little beforehand.
  16. Fair enough. Once again I come to the old class name problem. Perhaps hoplite could work? Those guys used spears a lot, and weren't too heavily armored. Actually you'll find sword axes are better suited to the task.
  17. Ehh, I don't care one way or the other for soldiers, but if they do come back I'd rather that they didn't promote to dragoons. So many franchises have used "dragoon" that it's become a staple of jrpgs. Halberdier is a much more unique sounding class than dragoon, and I'd like fire emblem to keep its uniqueness. I swear it's like spears were specifically made to hunt dragons or something.
  18. Please let this be true. I've been replaying sacred stones recently and this is one of my favorite aspects of that game. (That and the magic triangle.)
  19. Personally I'd like a system where every class gets one skill that has to actually affect how the unit behaves (no +2 stat stuff). I think some skills work as is like Veteran on the Cavalier, but there'd have to be some skill rearranging and buffing. This skill would then be kept upon promotion while gaining a new skill from the promoted class. In addition to this every unit would have a personal skill to not only add to their personality, but to differentiate them gameplay wise from enemies of the same class. Though there's a small chance that a system like that would be used because this game is using Awakening's engine.
  20. The link isn't working for me, but I'd be interested in seeing whatever the evidence is. Would you mind putting what you found on a post or something?
  21. I really hope there are no units from Awakening. Not because I found them annoying or anything, but because it's a new game. The story of Awakening is finished, let's have a new one. I want a completely different cast of characters, and an all new story. However if Nintendo makes some outrealm shenanigans DLCs where you fight Awakening characters I think that'd be okay. In fact I'd encourage it because people who buy Lucina or Robin amiibos should get some benefit from it.
  22. Really what I want is more mechanical customization. So in addition to the asset/flaw system from Awakening I would also like the ability to choose a class set, and what weapon Kamui's lord class uses. Possibly have it set up so that instead of asset giving you a bonus to stat chosen and two peripheral bonuses; instead have the peripherals come from starting weapon. Tomes could give you a bonus to speed and magic, axes could give you a bonus to strength and health, etc. A less likely thing that I would like is personality customization. Though just a more interesting personality than the avatar had is fine by me. If I were to think of something for actual appearance customization I'd say skin tone. Other than that I actually Awakening's appearance customization was fine.
  23. I love this idea, so, so much. For a while now I've been trying to come up with how deeper mechanical customization could work, but you did it for me. This plus the Asset/Flaw of earlier games would be optimal customization options for me. The only problem I have with this idea is that I be extremely disappointed if this idea isn't used.
  24. It would seem that I was wrong. Heck even what I thought cel shading meant was wrong. You're right, the combat models do have realistic shading. I don't know why thought the in game models were cel shaded. Normally I would chalk this up to remembering incorrectly, but I watched that entire combat montage video and still thought the game was cel shaded. Maybe my expectations tainted my perception? Hwoops.
