  1. Charlotte!Sophie probably has like a 5% growth in Magic in all of her classes (10% personal, 0% from Charlotte, 5% from Silas, 0% class growths), so magic capability doesn't mean much. Mercenary has Brave Hero overlap with Fighter, and neither it nor Bow Knight has worthwhile skills. And she'd already have Fighter, so the only A+ option she gets from that list is Peg Warrior, which is admittedly nice for Swallow Strike. In Deere's case, Holy Bowman's Raven Strike is pretty good for Berserker offense, and Ninja gives access to Copycat Puppet which is always nice. Rod Knight tree is kinda meh, but Tomebreaker from Butler and/or Swordbreaker from Wyvern Lord could definitely see use on a Berserker to counter WTD.
  2. Which ones are the questionable ones? Also would you mind posting them somewhere on this forum, I'm scared I'll run into spoilers on the wiki :(
  3. Where did you find that? Doesn't "getting him no matter what" just mean he's available no matter which version of the game you play? There are no required children recruitments in this game afaik
  4. Regarding Charlotte!Velour, I'd personally prefer using Charlotte!Deere for super strength berserker purposes. Mods: Str +6 / Mag -1 / Skl +3 / Spd +3 / Lck 0 / Def -1 / Res -2 He loses to Charlotte!Velour in 1 point of Str, but makes up for it with 1 higher Speed and 4 higher Skill. This is really good for offensive purposes and I don't think he'd be missing out on too many kills. Deere also inherits Cavalier from Jakob so he gets nice things like Luna and Aegis, and can still A+ other children for the remaining skills. Also I enjoyed the Charlotte x Jakob support Edit: I suppose it's bad for Charlotte though if she can't get anything out of a Marriage Seal...
  5. It's basically the new, slightly less reliable (in terms of the types of units it is effective against) version of Awakening Luna. With the lower stat caps, Skill*1.5% proc rate in Fates ends up being pretty similar to Skill% proc rate in Awakening. So the way I see it, instead of Breaking Sky being particularly broken, it simply retains Awakening-tier viability whereas every other proc skill got nerfed.
  6. Vengeance hasn't been directly nerfed in damage, but it's definitely much less impressive when everyone has such low max HP. There's just not much reason to use it when its damage output will rarely be better than Luna or Breaking Sky and it isn't anywhere near guaranteed anymore.
  7. That doesn't solve anything at all lol Flora on the other hand...if I don't have any plans for a super 3rd gen child, I'll probably go with best blue-haired maid if I can figure out how to get her
  8. If I actually had the option of recruiting Karel and Harken in the same file I'd do that every time The hate for Syalla is hilarious tho
  9. I'd suggest separating "marry a child", "marry a Kamuisexual", and "playing as a female" into three separate options. While they all achieve the same goal of not killing any children, they have very different implications regarding the player's preferences.
  10. I think I remember reading in an older topic that a Great Knight Effie (who gets the class from her base Knight) married a Cavalier and then suddenly started learning Cavalier skills while in Great Knight. This suggests to me that the game does the following: - When a unit gets an S support, the base class of the spouse (or the secondary class if both units share the same base class) is immediately added to the unit's pool of unpromoted classes (but is somehow still banned from access via parallel seals) - Whenever a unit gains a level in a promoted class, the game checks the unit's pool of unpromoted classes for anything that can promote to the unit's current class - If any of these classes have skills that the unit has not already learned, the unit can learn all of these skills by leveling up in the promoted class. In the situation that a unit receives a class (from marriage/buddy seals etc.) that shares a promotion with the unit's secondary class, and the unit directly parallel seals into this shared promotion without ever having spent time in either of the corresponding unpromoted classes, I'd assume that all 4 of the unpromoted skills can be learned, but have no idea how the priority would be determined.
  11. Can you really call Astra a reliable skill when its activation rate will cap at around 15ish% at most? Especially since OP is playing Nohr route and therefore won't have access to the Hoshido skill. I'd honestly prefer the 3x more likely to activate Breaking Sky, because a physical Kamui won't have any problems against the squishy 0 Str enemies, and it's just there as a fallback for when Dragon Fang doesn't proc. Though CocoaGalaxy brings up a good point that it forces you to not use the Yatogami for a while, so that may be a point against going Lance Fighter. Tbh I wouldn't put too much focus on procs other than Dragon Fang at all, and just choose the secondary class carefully depending on what you want your spouse/Kanna to have access to.
  12. I just realized something that took me way too long to figure out - if you give a unit one of the items that turn them into a special class (e.g. Dread Fighter, Dark Falcon), isn't that a free ticket to 40 promoted levels without having to use any Eternal Seals?
  13. Yeah, such is the result of their second attempt at an explanation for shoehorning the children mechanic back in without reusing the concept of time travel. Hopefully IS looks back, realizes the many unfortunate implications caused by this (underaged parents seriously...), and accepts the fact that there is no tasteful way to bring a second generation into the game without a time skip.
  14. Do you just hate little kids in general? Or is the fact that they are romanceable literally the only problem you have with them being children? I agree that the fact the game lets you make these underaged characters the parent of your own kid is fucking stupid, but that doesn't mean the kids themselves should be given hate for it. Best to just pretend their S-support options with Kamui don't exist >.>
  15. I'd assume so. Maybe child seal stat bonuses can be used to check if the old calculation for children's growth inheritance still holds. Preferably at endgame so the jump in levels is as wide as possible.
  16. I haven't played through the game but I made a thing that calculates characters' average 20/20 stats, and according to that a lot of units end up capping 1-2 or sometimes 3 stats. This assumes no reclassing, so a few of those units may be able to cap more than that with clever use of Parallel Seals (and blessings from the RNG goddess). Basically no one caps HP though...
  17. Kanna can't also do the A support buddy seal thing right? So he/she is no more special than the other children besides the potential to have 3rd gen mods?
  18. I guess that could work, since there are so many pinned topics already. Though I feel like some mechanics-related questions may not obviously fit into one specific thread, it would require multiple topic creators to continually update each of the FAQs, and it might just be easier for people if they were all in a single thread. Maybe it isn't the most efficient solution, but that's just my opinion.
  19. I've been seeing a lot of these questions being asked around the subforum, sometimes in several different topics. Sometimes these are answered immediately within a particular thread, but another user who missed that particular post in the thread may have the same question and ask it again somewhere else. In other cases, nobody has an immediate answer to the question, and a complete answer must be formulated in steps slowly through experimentation, often by multiple different users across several different threads. There is the "I just want to know one thing" thread, but it's difficult to find specific answers within all of the pages, and questions often go unnoticed/unanswered. Until a page (or several) fully describing these mechanics is completed on the main site (which will probably not happen for a while), I feel like it would be convenient to have a single stickied FAQ thread that tries to address the commonly asked questions on its first page, as a collaborative effort. Good or bad idea? Examples including but not limited to: - How do you determine the classes that are passed down from parents to children? - How do you determine the classes that units can access with Marriage and Buddy Seals? - How does "ability to double attack" work? - How does insert skill here specifically work? - How does Skill X work in tandem with Skill Y? - Does insert returning gameplay mechanic here work the same way as in Awakening? - In what order does a unit learn previously missed skills when reclassing at Level X? - Can katana-using classes use swords, etc. - Is Marth and Roy Dark Magic in this game? - Other things that I can't recall at the moment, but can be added later on
  20. Eh, there are several parents with +3 speed mods so it's not like Midoriko is the only choice. The only real purpose of having such overkill speed is for dodgetanking anyway. Speaking of Midoriko, it's possible to do Midoriko x Grey for another Lucina x Owain 'companions' situation. Not really as notable in this game though as there are so much worse pairings you can do >>;;
  21. The way I see it, Breaking Sky will always be useful for physical offensive units (mages not so much), because the type of unit that would have 0 Str is almost always going to have shit Def and can therefore be killed without the help of a proc anyway. On enemies, Str and Def should scale similarly (probably more common to have higher Str than Def), so Breaking Sky will be at least as useful as Luna for the most part, with a higher activation rate.
  22. You forgot Adventurer. But yeah you can argue like, Elite Ninjas and Adventurers are just Assassins and Tricksters respectively with slightly different weapon choices. Otherwise you can consider the Thief/Outlaw a completely different class as well because it uses bows instead of swords
  23. Lol. I think she's adorable, so if I marry Kaze as Femui I get her as a daughter and the sex ninja as a husbando. Win-win situation. Midoriko is definitely off limits on my Mamui S-support list though for the reason you listed incredible Speed mod be damned
  24. What. So what you're saying is (for example): if Orochi (Spellcaster/Herb Merchant) marries Tsukuyomi (Spellcaster/Oni), she will get Oni. But if Kagerou (Ninja/Spellcaster) marries Tsukuyomi, she will get nothing? That's odd. I thought it'd be the case that either Orochi and Kagerou would both get Oni, or both would get nothing...
