  1. Also if Azura, Nishiki, and Flannel all give access to their secondary classes, but I think this has been confirmed already
  2. Seems pretty conclusive. Just in case, would you happen to have any pairings where both units have the same starting class, to clarify that it works the same way in this situation as well?
  3. It's different from a brave effect because the attacks wouldn't be consecutive; they would still alternate like normal double attacks. But yes it is unprecedented.
  4. It wouldn't be any different from a situation where the attacking unit himself has more than one of those skills. Only one can activate at a time, with certain skills' activation rates taking priority over others.
  5. Since the 'Knife' weapon type, by definition, only exists in the Tellius games, I don't see why people think the new Kunai weapon type needs to be forcibly merged with it. It should definitely get its own page. I guess it could get confusing in a few cases because some of the kunai weapons actually do have 'knife' in their names, but none of their names overlap with the Tellius knives so it should be fine.
  6. Keyword: might. I was thinking more in terms of weapon rank bonuses, like it might be possible for an S-rank to increase the hit rate of other long-range staves compared to A-rank, giving players a reason to use Maids instead of something like Strategists for staffing duties. I don't think games before Awakening even had weapon rank bonuses, so who knows. It might actually mean something this time.
  7. The chart is designed in a way such that for any particular character, you need to find their name on both the left and the top, and read left-->right and top-->down respectively to find all of the supports. It could be a bit unintuitive at first but it eliminates redundancy. I would assume green means person on left and person on top are compatible. From what I understand, A+ supports are not reciprocal. If Lutz uses up his A+ support on Hisame, he'll be able to use the Buddy Seal to reclass into Hisame's Samurai. This doesn't use up HIsame's A+ support though, so Hisame is free to A+ with somebody else and doesn't automatically have access to Lutz's Wyvern Rider.
  8. I believe it would, but I also think I heard from someone that Kamui can only buddy seal with units of the same gender, so only female Kamui would be able to do this? (I have no idea if this is true, somebody confirm pls)
  9. It may be situational, but if you have a Maid/Butler on your team and you happen to have an extra available item slot, might as well carry one in case it might come in handy. I can definitely see long-range staves coming in handy in pvp, and an S-rank in staves might come with other nice benefits, so why not?
  10. 99.9% sure players will never ever get access to Infinite Staff
  11. People aren't being confused by the original tweet since they can't read it. They're being confused by a specific negative interpretation of the tweet that was stated as fact in the original post, since they have nothing else to go on.
  12. How easy is it to get Elixirs in this game? The fact that Herb Merchant has a skill that lets you act immediately after consuming a HP recovery item has gotten me curious about that.
  13. I have the Japanese names corresponding to all of the weapons on the first page of this thread >.>
  14. Seconding the questions about Copycat Puppet. Adding a new one - when the user selects the command to make a puppet, can the puppet act immediately after or does it have to wait until the next turn? I'd guess the latter but I want to make sure.
  15. Base Avoid is (Speed*3 + Luck)/2, both in this game and in Awakening. So with 38 Speed and 32 Luck, Deere's base Avo would be 73. Fortunately, Trueblade appears to have +10 inherent Avoid as well, so that would be bumped up to 83, making it the best dodgetanking class by far based on stats alone. Underdog is a good skill but I don't know if I'd feel too great about using it, since unlike in Awakening you can't just reset your level to 1. You might be forced to intentionally gimp his level and miss out on capping stats (I have no idea how the meta will develop with regards to using Eternal Seals) Don't forget that there are also weapons that can increase your Avoid. There are two katanas that grant you an extra +20 Avo; one of them is the S rank Katana. I think Vengeance has been nerfed to the point of not being worth using. Vantage/Vengeance worked in Awakening because for units with high enough skill, Vengeance was 100% guaranteed or very close to it. In Fates, even the units with the highest Skill can barely reach over 50% activation rates with it. On top of which, since the max HP of most classes is complete ass, Vengeance will not add significantly more damage than Breaking Sky would unless the unit is bordering on dead with like single-digit HP.
  16. I don't think healing skills like Renewal and Sun God will be very useful for offense-oriented units in pvp to be honest. When you're facing enemies that have similar stats to your own units, everyone does too much damage to each other for 20% or 30% healing to make a significant survivability difference. Especially since they happen at the beginning of player phase, which is not very good timing for self-healing. It's a very different situation from when you're fighting a large number of enemies weaker than you are in-game. Female units will have access to the Great Lord class when the Awakening DLC is released. To be fair, the Great Lord seal or whatever it's called will only be available in limited numbers so we'd have to choose who gets it carefully.
  17. Pretty sure in Awakening it leaves your current health at what it originally was, so that could potentially work, yeah.
  18. People over in the Classes thread have been saying this based on (encoded) in-game data, and from just looking at crit rates of Sorcerers. It seems like all the weapon specializing classes have +10 inherent crit, except Berserker who apparently has +20 inherent crit o_o On that note, it's actually pretty easy for a berserker Charlotte to reach 100% crit, especially against female units. Problem is she can't do a Vantage build with it because she's locked to 1 range.
  19. (Odin's Skill mod is actually +1 and not -1.) This is what I have for a crit-stacking Ophelia build so far: Nyx!Ophelia Mods: +1 Str / +5 Mag / +0 Skl / +2 Spd / +1 Lck / -1 Def / +1 Res Relevant caps as a Sorcerer: 40 Mag, 26 Skill, 31 Speed Base crit rate from skill: 11 Sorcerer class crit bonus: +10 Weapon: Excalibur (12 Mt, 90 Hit, 25 Crit, +5 to both user and enemy's ability to double attack) Skills: [blossoming Mind]: Crit +10 Vantage (inherent access to Samurai) Awakening: Crit (and other stuff) +30 when under half HP (Great Lord DLC) Line of Death: +10 damage done, +10 damage received (inherent access to Weapon Master) Roundhouse: Crit +10 (Nyx can A+ support with Charlotte to get Fighter and pass this skill down) Swallow Strike: +5 to user's ability to double attack when initiating battle (mostly filler, can be gotten by Marriage Sealing with Shigure. Either this or Raven Strike) Total crit from all of these combined = 11 + 10 + 25 + 10 + 30 + 10 = 96 Crit As for damage, 40 Mag + 12 Mt + 10 (Line of Death) = 62 Atk, plus whatever the weapon rank bonus is when not under WTD, so there shouldn't be any issues OHKOing if a crit happens. The bigger issue is hit rate... If Arthur's Unlucky Soul works from the back, he can be Ophelia's Guard Stance support to give her an extra +15 Crit as well as patch up her Skill and Speed (as a Brave Hero). The hardest part is to actually get under half HP, because Sorcerer Ophelia is probably prone to getting ORKOed. Sorcerer's speed cap is terrible so Ophelia is also prone to getting doubled. My idea is to engage a fight against an enemy who can do more than 50% HP damage to Ophelia in one attack (shouldn't be hard with Line of Death), but make sure Ophelia can double the enemy so they end up dead after hitting her once. Swallow Strike combined with Excalibur should make this possible even with Sorcerer Ophelia's mediocre speed. This fails if Ophelia ends up OHKO critting the enemy to death before they can hit her, but oh well. Has a lot of flaws and is not the best Vantage crit build by any means, but it's the best I've got so far.
  20. I guess we know why Xander specializes in swords then.
  21. To Othin, and anyone else who cares - I think the formula for displayed crit might be (Skill - 4)/2, rounded down. This is consistent with all of the examples I've seen so far. Anyone want to try testing it out?
  22. It's correct. Falcon Warriors also have the highest Res caps in the game and have WTA; they are designed to utterly obliterate mages.
  23. Speaking of which, can anyone confirm if Dark Knights can or can't use Nosferatu?
