  1. I had that feeling all the time. I think I got through all the episodes in less than four days.
  2. Shh. The forest burnt, fried all the herons, then they were all frozen hoping they could be revived by some out of this world superpower magic which has never seen before. During this time of waiting, Ilyana was born, and during her teenage years before PoR, discovered where the frozen fried Herons were stored, then re-heated them in a big microwave, and ate them one by one... Don't give me shifty eyes, I've drank five Budweisers...

I know, don't worry. But, it is the Easter holidays, and doing something like this should keep me entertained for a few days at least. I like a good challenge now and again.

To be honest, this little argument has got me quite intrigued, and I'd like to see whether my own theory during the last post is right... I'm going to need to set myself rules for this. Here they are: Rule 1 By the final chapter's end, I will have 12 units: Non-Nino playthrough: 1. Lyn 2. Eliwood 3. Hector 4. Florina 5. Rebecca 6. Raven 7. Dart 8. Priscilla 9. Legault 10. Oswin 11. Canas 12. Erk Nino playthrough: 1. Lyn 2. Eliwood 3. Hector 4. Florina 5. Rebecca 6. Raven 7. Dart 8. Priscilla 9. Legault 10. Oswin 11. Canas 12. Nino Choosing the 11 other than Erk and Nino was pretty difficult for me... other candidates were: Serra, Guy and Fiora. I wanted to include Guy in there somewhere, but I decided to replace him with Canas because this selection is heavily weighed more towards weapon-wielders as opposed to tome-users. Also, I will not use any of the other units during this thing, I will leave them at base where possible. Rule 2 I will go through the game for both playthroughs in this order: Lyndis Hard Mode (Normal mode annoys the hell out of me, I am not a noob...), then Eliwood Normal Mode. Rule 3 Every unit will be level 20 before promotion to a new class, including Priscilla. Rule 4 At the Port of Badon, I will arena abuse Lyndis, Eliwood and Hector to lv20. I wouldn't normally, but since I need to raise Priscilla who is only able to heal until she promotes, I see no other way unless I promote her much later in the game. The extra Gold would be useful too, I think. Rule 5 Side-quests and alternative routes I will participate in (using this page as a guide): 7x 13x 18x 22x 23A (Linus) Probably: 25A (Kenneth) for non-Nino playthrough and 25B (Jerme) for Nino playthrough. Will try to get 25A for noth runs, but can't promise anything of course. 26x 29x Hopefully this is all set up. I will make a copy of the save file on the chapter I recruit Erk in Lyn's story, because from there on things should turn out slightly different between the two save files. I will also keep a record of each unit's level after the end of each chapter, and hopefully be able to put my results in the form of a graph at the end of this experiment. Should be fun. It starts now.
  5. What I did was: Go to Veoh and download it's VeohTV (Beta) program. This program is directly linked with the website, and is more useful than having to load a new browser window to watch a new episode. After downloading the program, click "Search" at the top, then search the anime's name and episode number (eg. "Kanon 2006 episode 1"). Search results will probably give alot of results. I watched the subbed episodes of Kanon, I don't mind having to read and watch at the same time. I can't promise there will be dubbed versions of it, but there will more than likely be if you search for it. This program provides a nice, large quality picture, so it's first choice for me when watching any anime.
  6. I'm sure you would enjoy it too, if you liked Air (which from what you say, is an emotional anime) then Kanon, being an anime which is capable of moving even me, would be for you too. I will write a review of it, also give my own impression of it in more detail, without trying to include spoilers of course.

I'm sure 11 units will not get affected by Nino taking most of the experience for a chapter or two. Raising 12 units and not bothering with Nino will get you in the same position as raising 11 units and Nino as the 12th, by the end of the game. Only difference is, Nino is a godly unit, so I personally see that as the best option.
  8. Can I ask how long that took you? If I tried writing a small review of everything I've watched, then I would be there for at least 30 minutes, minimum. Pretty cool. If I'm bored and have nothing to do, I may elaborate and update my first post, since I have finished watching Kanon and Clannad. I have also just finished watching the second episode of "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni", it's still a strange anime, to say the least. I believe it will stay strange throughout, though.
  9. I have reason to believe she has eaten every shoe within the group, I would bet that she would eat their clothes and armour too, if they gave her half a chance. Although I would like to see her eat Mia's clothes...
  10. Don't worry about it, I didn't really get it at first either; things will fall into place as more is revealed about what Yuuichi remembers from the past.
  11. Any form of footwear you see during battle animations are a lie.
  12. I wonder how many pairs of boots Mia has gone through because of her...

In the chapter where you kill Nino's mother (what's it called again?), just place Rebecca in front, watch the enemies try to hit her. There will be no retaliation (since she would be a sniper in close range combat), so just place Nino behind Rebecca, and hack away at the enemy's life from there. They will all be queueing up to die as they spawn from the steps - cavaliers, paladins... Watch her levels grow, it's great.
  14. Living Life Casually is somewhere I frequently visit and post, has a good close community, a small forum where almost all members are UK-based. Other than LLC, I come here too.
  15. I'd like to cut the stuff up first, if that's alright with everyone. Things can burn easier then. Agreed? Also welcome, it's nice to see new blood.

It all comes down to whether you are awilling to baby her. If you're patient, then she is a good choice, otherwise if people can't look after her for a few chapters to make her gain experience then that is just another option. Personal experience tells me she is a unit worth using and raising to 20/20.
  17. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni seems interesting, I just read it up on Wikipedia. It apparently involves murder, but I can't tell if there are any gruesome scenes involved. After I finish watching Clannad (Which is going very nicely, but not half as upsetting as Kanon) I will probably give this a watch, and report back. Edit: Just saw the first episode of that anime, it's very strange to say the least... It's different from animes like Kanon and Clannad, and I'm not sure if I like it just by watching the first episode yet, so I'll have to watch more episodes... Murder and cute anime girls don't quite go together in my opinion, but we'll see.

  19. Indeed, I found it...I can't find a word to explain properly. But even now, thinking about the things that had happened in the anime makes me feel sad, upset even. I don't know how, but it finds a way to emotionally attach you to the characters, and despite it being just an anime, it still finds a way to hit a nerve. I've just started watching an anime called Clannad, which I saw advertised at the end of the last episode of Kanon. Watching episode two now. I'll let people know how it is. But Kanon, I will advise to anyone to watch. Or play, since it's a game too. I would buy the DVD box set of the 2006 version, but I need a multi-region DVD player since it appears to be only released in America. Also, my bank account wouldn't like it, not yet anyway.
  20. There's two versions of Kanon. There's the 2002 version, then there's the 2006 remake. I watched the 2006 version.

    Hello!

Ah, hi. I'm Raven, and my favourite character is Raven.
  22. I just finished watching Kanon. It's the first anime to emotionally move me. Scratch that, the first of anything I've watched to emotionally move me. And it takes alot, so watch Kanon.
  23. LongCat is loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong... This was sellotaped on an open DVD drive at school... Made me think WTF anyway.
  24. I'll name what I've watched/read, along with my personal rating beside it. Myself: Watched: Groove Adventure Rave * * * * Awesome anime, but it wasn't finished, sadly. But the manga was. Love Hina * * * * * Good humour, funny to watch. They should create more episodes of this. Death Note * * * * Great anime, but drags on a bit too much, I think. Digimon Savers (Digimon Series 5) * * * * More mature than the other series of Digimon, worth watching if you're into Digimon. Lucky Star * * * * * Absolutely hilarious and funny, and cute. A little too short for my liking, but that's ok because it's complete, and funny. Yu Yu Hakusho * * * * * Over 100 episodes, great battles, good storyline too. Watch this. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya * * * * * Ace anime. Very funny and not so down to earth, which is great. Watch this too. I believe more episodes will be made. Last watched: Kanon - Episode 5 * * * * I've got the basic plot of this, I think. But I need to watch more to really know what's going on, and to enjoy it even more. Going good so far though. Read: Got no Manga, unfortunately. What anime/manga has everyone else seen/read? You don't have to do what I did of course, just list the names, unless you want to give your opinion otherwise.
