  1. I get this feeling all the time. I think I have a fear or something of finishing games
  2. It is. That game has so many mechanics and tons of post story content as well. One LPer had just over 100 parts of the game, and they didn't even 100% I believe.
  3. Tbh, the whole apostle thing reminds me of the Kumari tradition from Nepal. I'm going to assume it's a ladies' only type of gig. And it's a fantasy land, so maybe the brand of the apostle will bless them with a daughter for sure.
  4. Banned for finding the Sharknado Clan
  5. Hello. Interesting choice for your fave. Coming out the gate with a Deet'var reference.
  6. Not bad! Not surprised to see BOTW as #1 though. Sad Xenoblade didn't make the cut though, but it has been released later than the others though.
  7. The main piece of evidence I've found with that pairing is that they have a "Lovebirds" song unlocked with their pairing, and the only other pairing that does this is Eliwood x Ninian. which is widely encouraged in-game and liked by the fandom. Plus, Caelin merging into Ostia can be done by marriage (the most common method. Historically, marriages lead to mergers. There's hardly any abdications, which is what we believe. However, this is a fantasy land with a character with an unusual background. Lyn can't fit into a historic mold, IMO.) I'm generally a Lyn x Rath fan too, but there's a couple of things that pair her and Hector. Regardless, I never really liked any of Hector's pairings. Although Florina's relationship with him is cute, the fact that Lilina is a mage despite the potential mother pool comprising of physical-based units, doesn't make much sense to me. Serra or Priscilla make more sense to be her mother from a unit standpoint.
  8. I don't think we can expect a huge gap before Japan and the NA release. It may even be a worldwide release, since Nintendo seems worried about putting games on the Switch as fast as possible. Even Xenoblade Chronicles 2 had a worldwide release, and its fan community isn't even as big as FE's.
  9. They did a lot for the rare blades. They may be one note, but the characterization was done in a way that made it interesting. Their affinity sidequests as well as the post battle banter is great. One time I caught Dagas telling Sheba that her attitude was too much, and she requested his crown as compensation. And all I could think of was a pot calling a kettle black.
  10. I didn't get lost on my way to Umon's shipyard... although I can see how it can be confusing. Plus, I found some other waypoints prior to that just from exploring. Also, Sheba is so great! She definitely has some of my favorite moments from the game, on top of being a great blade. Also, I love the rare blades' banter. They all have interesting dialogue.
  11. Ehhh it could be a running gag. Ever have friends call you an insulting nickname a lot? It could be like that. Not malicious- he's just the oldest in the group so it's easy pickings. I don't doubt a low life expectancy though. Bionis sounds like a rough place to live in.
  12. IIRC, Sperm production starts to decrease around the age of 50, or something close to that. Men generally have 20 more years than women as the "window of opportunity" to reproduce. It's generally not recommended that they conceive when you're older though. A 40+ year old man is more likely to have a child born with Down Syndrome and other similar conditions. So they can conceive a lot longer, but it's better to do so while in you're prime. Sorry for all of the additional info, but I think it's interesting. Isn't that just a jest? A lot of people call their father their "old man" even if they're not even that old. It could be a term of endearment/tease.
  13. I agree that it does need to be explained better, luckily the site here gives you a rough estimate for what the original Ol' Hubba means when you visit him. I disagree with the fact that you'll get the substitutes. IMO, half the time it seems like you have to actively TRY to obtain/get them, as the real problem with the love system is that random people fall in love with each other. You could never place Lewyn next to Sylvia, but they'll still fall in love with each other before Gen 1 ends (unless you try to pair them with anyone else). Edain comes early enough to get all the men's attention. The only "easy" substitutes would be Asaello and Daisy, because Brighid comes late enough with low enough love bases (Tailtiu has a high base with Claude). Radney and Roddlebann are also "easy", but it involves not recruiting Ayra at all.
  14. I would like this, but IIRC, the FE Wiki staff were debating about doing it. The votes were mainly in favor, but it sort of went into the back burner. I think it would be nice if we got info on the game though.
  15. Maybe it wasn't a saying? It's just something that's stuck with me, I guess? I just remember that in mythology, the Greek version often focused more on the romance behind the stories meanwhile the Romans liked the more action/war stories. The Roman depictions were given more Warrior-like, IIRC.
  16. Try General Gaming? Do we have a SMT/Persona sub section? I misread this as a SMT/Fire Emblem idea, and was half expecting a joke about how it should star teens in Tokyo that gain personas from the FE world. They're also training to be idols and Tiki will be in the game and Outrealm shenanigans. But that didn't happen.
  17. I don't dislike her personality, but in comparison to other characters in Awakening, she definitely fails to grab my attention. Maybe I was unlucky, but all of the supports I've gotten with her all revolve around finding a playmate for "house", but then it gets creepy when the game becomes real. It feels morally wrong (because she looks and acts like a child) and it's just too darn rushed/forced. Some of her supports aren't bad at all, and she does gain a deeper understanding of how that person thinks. But you would think, with someone as much of a backstory as hers (slavery and all), she'd show more maturity at times. I can't help but feel her whole characterization (and her design), are made to appeal to a certain demographic, and quite frankly, it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. Her characterization is ok; it's not poorly done, but I don't find/see her appeal. The romance mechanic in Awakening hinders her character, IMO. She needs friends, not a husband.
  18. The cultures are reminiscent of the Greeks and Romans. Ever heard of the saying "Greeks were lovers, and Romans were fighters" (usually referring to mythology). Rigel is like Roman Empire: it's an empire built upon a culture centered around strength and fighting ability. Meanwhile Zofia is like ancient Greece: warm, in tune with nature. However, the top of the class structure is corrupted by greed and power. Plus, it features a lot of monsters, some inspired by mythology, like those winged buggers (gargoyles? It's been a while for me) are reminiscent of the furies. The 2 main gods: Mila and Duma, share a lot of similarities/parallels to Demeter and Mars respectively. The overclasses are very Grecko-Roman-inspired: Rigain, Sparta, and Oliphantier in particular. Also, I would like to note that the art for enemy/npc units is drawn to look similar to Greek pottery. I would say it's not full greco-roman, since there is some early medieval influences, but the detailing is very greco-roman.
  19. Welcome. Just hop right in to discussions!
  20. How big are we talking? Genealogy big or GBA big? Because IMO, the maps from the GBA era were a nice size for the most part.
  21. I actually like this idea the most. A "pick my edits" or a randomizer/growths sort of things for a new game plus. Could really be cool in an Echoes installment, to start characters in alternate classes. (Someone had asked for an FE4 pick my edits recently, which is why the idea seems to appealing to me. Dancer Daisy = Finally a Daisy that isn't almost useless) Thanks for correcting me. It's been a while since I've checked out ol' Thracia 776, so I forgot some of the later characters. Sleuf... lol I would hate that name.
  22. Ehhh. I don't play FE to play against others, so I don't really care. I can only imagine being in a match with someone who's taking forever to decide what to do during their turn and vice-versa. Matches could take forever.
