  1. I'm really liking Rinea's inclusion. She seems to be a FOIL of sorts for Berkut.
  2. I voted for Clair but I also love Luthier's. Deen looks cool now, albeit, maybe too-edgy. Conrad seems like an interesting character overall. I wonder what his role in the story is going to be. I would've voted Rinea as my favorite new character though, but I don't think she's playable though (but she's bound to be interesting)
  3. It has to be written well enough. If it's serving as some sort of 'origin' story or something, it may be interesting. However
  4. Hmmmm... Since it's post game content, I just hope it's fun. If there's dreaded child units, then I hope there's an actual time skip and they're just dealing with a revolution, a la Part 2 in Radiant Dawn. But I think it'll probably be a combination of the mixed parties
  5. I don't mind a good gimmick every now and then. Not every character can have huge, meaningful character arcs because there's so many characters. I'm Ok with having around 5ish gimmicky characters just to serve as comedic relief. It's war, so I expect some small amount of people to cope by using comedy (strangely enough, I don't recall that being a character arc- a jokester who's just merely trying to cope. IS are you taking notes?). The earlier games had less gimmicky characters and a lot more "normal" ones, but I do think that a lot of them go unremembered because of this. While I do think the last couple of entries may have more memorable characters, but that could also because they're newer and they're fresher in my memory. One of the problems I have with Fates for characterization is that they made the cast so huge, that tons of characters had gimmicks, and unfortunately, a lot of them were just repeats of Awakening. So instead of being their own character, they'd seem more like Awakening 2.0 in terms of characterization. Although I do think they did improve Awakening's tendency for some characters to be one-note and give a little more personality to flesh them out, but you had to get the right support conversation. So while I don't mind a good gimmick, it's just that too much can be overwhelming and a lot of the time, there's no development on your average playthrough unless you get certain supports. I think a solution to this problem would be to limit characters on who they can support with, instead of everyone of the opposite gender. I think more focused supports can help this problem.
  6. Well, it'd be more of prequel and I'm not sure what the style of play would be, but they're awesome and I love their design. A sequel could also work. A part of me wishes the "joke" became real and they were the stars of a completely satirical FE where it kind of makes fun of the series and features 2-3 characters from each game/timeline. And their names are really similar to their originals (maybe just one letter off), and the designs would be retro.
  7. TBH I was living for the shade. I don't mind people calling me out because I'm a drama whore I think I should get clarification if I'm wrong.
  8. Same, at least Cordelia had more depth to her character. (and helps that Severa added to that characterization) If Faye's shtick is she's just a cute Alm fangirl I don't think I'll like her as much. Of course, I'd still probably use her since she's a villager and I can do whatever I want with her character but with only 4 classes to pick from if the screenshot was real
  9. Tbh I wouldn't mind shelling out a FE game like this. If it was a satire on FE and had a ton of self-awareness and jokes about the series, I'd definitely buy it. And the whole cast can be a knockoff character of some sort. Bonus points if a Rhajat and Asugi like character claim to be knockoffs of another knockoff.
  10. But are we really surprised though? It's not FE without at least a one note gimmick character. If she gets a paired ending with another guy, I'll feel pretty bad about him, because she talks about Alm all game until he says her feelings for her, and then she's all like "I love you too" but get her another support conversation and it's all about Alm again......
  11. Well I mean they're not talking about weapons. Yeah it's not in the English version at least. It's probably made up if not in the Japanese version. "This fan" me? Because someone said that earlier in the thread and I ran with it. But that really makes me no better, now does it? But seriously "this fan". You quoted me so you're already speaking to me directly. I just reread the Raven and Lucius support (English) and the only romantic thing that can be inferred is in their A support where Raven says he wants someone to go home to (implying he wants Lucius to wait for him), but he doesn't want a bride. Other than that, there's really not much evidence.
  12. Feel free to use it. She deserves the fanfare everytime her name is mentioned, but I think I'll change "lady that attracts suitors, such as foreign princes" to "maiden of princes' desire" since that rolls off the tongue easier. I'm hoping someone at IS sees my comments on here glorifying L'arachel, Princess of Rausten, Champion of Justice, Prevailer over Darkness, Defender of Light, CEO of Gambling Halls, and Maiden of Princes' Desire, and they realize, "Hey, we need L'arachel. She's meme-able and beloved enough to close the rift between new fans and old, she IS the answer, she IS the future, and SHE GETS HER OWN MODE IN SS.
  13. I really like this idea, it gives Celica a long lost relative sibling drama, daddy got some 'splainin' to do and if he's a bastard, Celica's claim to the throne isn't threatened either. He could become a duke though, but knowing FE, he'll probably just disappear to the Outrealms some distant faraway land and we'll never know.
  14. I can't wait to feel the frustration when my Leon is missing at 70+ but demo Leon was hitting at 19. Ahhhh, frustration in the future.
  15. Got his growths in Binding Blade and Blazing Blade mixed up. Whoops.
  16. Harken is better stat and utility-wise, but Karel is pretty good too and for some reason has the highest resistance growth rate out of everyone in the entire series. I like Karel's personality more. He's more interesting and mysterious IMO.
  17. I like Raven as a character. He's a hero, which is a plus, and he has an interesting backstory. Although the whole 'vengeance' thing got old after a bit, but he at least showed other sides to his character. For the gay discussion, I don't think he's gay, but that's not to say he's completely straight, there isn't a lot evidence, but we have: 1.) Has a paired ending with Lucius 2.) Priscilla comments about how Lucius "sheathes Raven's sword" (I may have a dirty mind though) Granted, Lucius is very feminine looking, and that could explain a part of Raven's attraction for him IF he actually is.
  18. Yes.... but not anytime soon. I think there's 3 other FEs that are in the Echoes line before Blazing Blade.
