I'm glad that the Odin I picked has been useful, although with the way he's currently being used I don't foresee Life and Death being particularly great when he gets it.

SpoilerIt's implied that the Grimleal are able to control the Risen, given that Aversa is able to get Risen archers to attack Philia's squad.

I get the feeling that with the skills that Elise is going to get and with how good she tends to be as a wyvern rider anyway she's going to end up being one of the best units. I'm quite curious to see how Arthur will turn out. My prediction is that he'll be useful in the early-game but will probably fall off later on.

I vote for trying to get the gaiden chapters while ironmanning, after all it's a part of how the game was made. I think that going for it will create some interesting decisions for who to sacrifice for gaiden chapters while also providing some fuel for the write-up as well. E.G How worth the effort do the gaiden characters end up being.

I just did Chapter 6, so may as well give an update on my progress
(P-2, 1-5, 2-4, 3-5, 4-8, 5-6, 6-3)

I went with a female Corrin for early Demoiselle access through Jakob. Since Jakob grants an evasion boost to the avatar I decided to leverage that with a Ninja talent, and a strength boon to make up for the low might of daggers.
Most chapters were fairly uneventful but I'll mention that I had Arthur levels of luck when attempting to do chapter 4 as my units just kept missing which didn't exactly help matters.
In chapter 5 I wound up unintentionally getting Rinkah and Kaze killed towards the end but it was too late to really matter for the turncount.

Sounds like a bit of fun, I've never played a draft or done an LTC playthrough. But it's the fun that counts.

In Chapter 7 there's choke-points available to limit the amount of enemies and positional skills such as Lily's Poise to assist with taking out the enemies. Additionally Silas can take advantage of his Vow of Friendship personal skill to greatly improve his combat even just by performing his action before you heal Corrin. I'd hardly say tonics are necessary for this map as the layout assists quite a lot.

Guard stance is there for precisely that reason as well.

Probably because he's supposed to be equal to Ryoma and having an axe or a lance would diminish that symmetry.
