    Yeah.

With Godlike Reflexes, you're required to run one of (1) +1 Special charge rate, (2) Emblem Marth, or (3) Laguz Friend 4, and Pledge is a slot-efficient way to fulfill option 1. Even when running Emblem Marth, Pledge still has value for nullifying an opponent's Guard effect as an alternative to running Tempo.

Player-phase builds with No Quarter (or Ruptured Sky) will prefer Incite. Dual-phase builds with No Quarter (or Ruptured Sky) can go either way, with the main reason to pick Pledge over Incite in this case being as a counter to Guard.

Thank you so much! I'll keep this in mind going forward (and also take it easy on grinding HoF too, even if I only have one torch left at the moment).

Update: She now has No Quarter! I can't decide between keeping Pledge or looking for Incite. I guess I'll just see what happens on that front. Pledge is more defensive but it would also synergize with Finish and Liberation better than if Alear zoomed off with Incite...

Additionally, putting Seal Def 4 in the B slot prevents him from running the more popular Near Trace, which means I'm expecting to see Canto (Rem. +1; Min 2) added to his weapon's refine.

Agreed. I know Remixed Heroes don't get brand new skills very often but I figured he was a perfect candidate for A/D Near Trace 3 or 4, but as you say it makes sense if he gets the upgraded Canto effect in his weapon instead. I hope that's the case, the lack of Canto is really noticeable (at least for me) when using him these days.

If that's your situation, then I suggest grabbing some skills on Celine to help clear floor 25 and then going back to fishing for Incite. That way, if someone convinces you to grab Celine, you'll have already started grabbing skills for her, and in the meantime, she can help deal with blue tanks.

Thanks! For the record I'm 99% sure I'll just get Alear. As for Incite, are you saying that's better than Pledge for her? (Sorry for bringing this up over and over again.)

It depends mostly on what you have as resources.

Godlike Reflexes is easier to get than No Quarter, and Atk/Spd Finish 4 is easier to get than Atk/Spd Prime 4, but this doesn't matter if you have the resources or are using a duplicator for the harder-to-get skills.

Between Atk/Spd Pledge and Incite Atk/Spd, it's also worth considering your availability for their prerequisites in case you're planning to get the other through skill inheritance.

If you're aiming to grab a second Forma, then it's probably a good place to stop and work on the second unit since all of the skills themselves are good as is. If all you're going for is Alear, then you should still have enough leeway to grab some skills on the other units just to help clear floor 25 more consistently.

In that case, My A!Peony has both NQ and Atk/Spd Prime. Unfortunately I have no sources of Incite Atk/Spd and only one for Atk/Spd Pledge, so that still worries me. So with the skills at my disposal, is Pledge better to keep or should I keep fishing for Incite?

Alear is the only Forma I'm going for at the moment (unless someone sells me on Celine in the next two weeks) but I think she'll be fine solo'ing Floor 25 if I just give her Liberation back? We'll see. I noticed she has trouble with blue tanks.

    Thanks as always, Ice!

  5. Hi all, this is what I've got for my F!Alear so far into HoF.

    (Florid Cane + Rally Atk/Spd+ + GLR + A/S Finish 4 + Potent 4 + A/S Pledge.)

Is that a good place to stop or should I keep going? For example, I'm going to use Liberation in regular content so should I get Incite Atk/Spd instead for the Incite status? I'm not too concerned about lacking NFU since the NFU Seal is always an option. Thanks to everyone who's given me advice on how to build her so far!

P.S. Florid Cane is not a good weapon for Floor 25, unfortunately. But hey, I can always get Liberation back from Floor 13 and get Florid Cane with my Grails if I really want to play with it some more.

    Engage

It may be too soon after his Emblem alt but I'd like to see Corrupted Emblem Marth. If nothing else a second source of Potent would be appreciated... though that just makes it more likely he'll be on next year's fallen banner instead.

While I'd love to see Fallen Veyle, I'm not going to get my hopes up. Instead I'll play it safe and assume we'll get complementary Heroes to last year, i.e. F!M!Byleth and Lloyd.

...and more Three Hopes Heroes because 3H bias.

  7. And another chapter down! Not much happened this time, but we still got some meaningful developments and confirmation that Yggdrasil and the Askran + Emblians' power are similar enough to work together. Neat!

Also a bit of development from the Healing Hands. While Nidhoggr's line to Ratatoskr is a bit on the nose on the surface, the reveal earlier that she keeps trying to numb her emotions means it still says something about her regardless. Also their dad is getting involved. I assume he'll get teased next month and properly revealed with the midpoint trailer/ banner.

I firmly believe that the NH banners for April, June, and July will be Tellius, Fates, and Three Houses/Hopes

That's a fair assumption. I must say, back in 2017 I didn't think I'd ever want another Fates banner over something else, yet here we are.

I wonder what are the chances of the HoF having Veyle on it since I assume Engage is next?  Veyle is the only Engage unit in Heroes I'm missing and want, but I don't think she is happening this time.

    0. I don't think any of Engage's Legendary/ Mythic Heroes are slated to appear this month? And even if they were they're all too new and powerful to be in HoF already. That said, Veyle's probably the most likely to show up in the next Engage HoF since she's "just" a supportive nuke compared to the tankiness of the others (I think L!F!Alear's starting to fall off though).

I am kind of surprised to see no mention of golden week on the calendar it starts on April 29th this year according to Google anyway.

Maybe we'll get a surprise Feh Channel instead?

Scarlet seems like a safe bet, and a simple way to round out the banner would be Mitama, Mozu, and Shura as the GHB.

I'm honestly shocked those three in particular aren't in FEH yet, even as seasonals. I'd bet on premium banner unit Scarlet, demote Mozu and GHB Shura personally, though I also wouldn't be surprised if IS gave Mozu a somewhat premium kit and sent a guy out to die as the demote instead, like Kagetsu earlier.

What do you think? Two NH Banners this month with the second being the annual Fallen Heroes one. I REALLY hope no one from Engage is on here, I literally can't afford to pull on anything right now since I'm also planning to pull on the HoF banner on the 22nd. And that's not even mentioning the midpoint banner coming next month with a "free" Mythic, IIRC.

If you're planning on using Lunar Brace II most of the time, it might be better to wait to get a copy of Incite Atk/Spd instead, depending on how likely you think you'll be able to get your hands on one. If you're running Gambit 4 most of the time, then getting Alarm Atk/Spd can be prioritized a bit higher.

Apparently Gambit is better for her, so I figured I'd rely on Alarm for the Canto (she has Alarm Spd/Def, not Def/Res, my bad!)

And as you say, I'm not planning on building any beasts anytime soon, so that makes it okay to spend her on Eirika? I hope?

  12. 6 minutes ago, XRay said:

Do not forget Potent! That skill seems pretty rare right now.

I don't even have E!Marth, so that's not a problem for me at the moment 😛

But thank you for the assessment! My L!Eirika already has good skills right now (Ruptured Sky, Flared Sparrow + Gambit 4) and I only have the one copy of Eitr so I don't want to put too many good skills on her at the moment. Are there any relatively cheap skills I could put on her? Snags and Ruses could be fun for general content for example, since both she and Eirika would have that one space of Canto to play around with. Thank you again!

Arcane Nihility is stronger than almost all other beast cavalry weapons as long as the opponent has stat bonuses. The combination of Arcane Nihility and Beast Sense 4 functions almost identically to Summer Freyja's weapon and B skill, but slightly better, so it functionally just turns any other fast beast cavalry into a copy of Summer Freyja.

Beast Sense 4 is at least notable for functionally being a Dodge skill that's also accessible to cavalry and fliers. Its only real competitor for percentage damage reduction is Counter Roar 4.

For non-beasts, everything Eitr can duplicate can already be supplied by any of the other melee cavalry, namely Flared Sparrow, Near Trace 3, Assassin's Strike, Alarm, and Incite. If you're already using one of them to duplicate those, there's probably no need to also have Eitr do the same.

The most notable skills that Eitr is the only unit that can duplicate are Atk/Spd Wild, Beast Sense 4, and Beast Agility 4. (The other Beast skills don't have tier-4 versions yet.) Counter Roar 4 is also notable for there being only 2 units that can duplicate it right now.

Since we don't have any easy sources of any of the tier-3 Beast skills right now, you're currently stuck picking only 2 of Arcane Nihility, Atk/Spd Wild, or a tier-4 Beast skill when inheriting from Eitr if you want to be efficient.

Thank you so much for this! So if I don't have any other beast units I'm building, it's okay to just put her Alarm Atk/Spd on Eirika? Or should I hold onto her regardless and let the latter keep Alarm Def/Res? Thanks again!

  14. I have a question about Eitr: Hand of Nothing: how valuable are her skills beyond Alarm Atk/Spd? I have a copy and I'd like to know if I should inherit Alarm Atk/Spd onto my L!Eirika (who has Alarm Spd/Def at the moment) or hold onto Arcane Nihility and Beast Sense 4. I only have her at +0 but remember seeing S!Freyja uses them well for example.

    Thanks in advance, everyone!

P.S. I don't think Eitr can inherit any useful "general purpose" skills either because she's a Beast, can she? No Quarter is off the table, for instance.

I suppose it's also worth noting that Potent 4 and Spurn 4 also have availability as a factor to consider, but their availability is a bit more complicated than usual since, while Spurn is currently stuck on only Special Heroes, it's more likely to be added to the standard summoning pool eventually, whereas Potent is unlikely to be made available on any other unit since it's specifically based off of Emblem Marth's Engage Skill in Engage, but has scheduled reruns.

I don't fancy my chances of getting Emblem Marth outside of AHR so Potent is probably the better option for me here. I suppose a new Marth alt could come with it too, but outside of a potential fallen one I don't see that happening any time soon. Thank you very much for your feedback!

I'll go for the first choices I posted earlier then, though I'll accept Prime 4 over Finish 4 if I get everything else I want. Thanks again!

  16. 2 hours ago, Ice Dragon said:

For the A slot, while Atk/Spd Finish 4 is going to be the better skill for general use, Atk/Spd Prime 4 is harder to get unless you have a convenient way to duplicate it. You can easily get 2 stacks of Prime on Alear by herself from her weapon and C slot, so it isn't too difficult to max out the effect.

Hmm, true. I could also pair her with Gerik to get the full Prime effect even if she's isolated after Charging. Thank you very much! I currently have 4 Peonies to clone Prime and 4 Alcrysts to clone Finish, but as you say Finish seems to be the better skill for her so... I guess I'll just see if I'm lucky enough to get either one and go from there. What do you think about the rest of my build, does it (or the alternatives) look good?

3 hours ago, Ice Dragon said:

so it might be more worthwhile to grab something harder to get like Florid Cane.

That's the one with Canto, isn't it? I'll keep an eye out, thanks again!

At least Chrom shouldn't be the Duo Hero, since he already has a Duo Alt. It could be Young Robin though.

He can still get a Duo alt if he's the backpack. With Emmeryn in front, for example. Duo Lyon showed IS isn't above putting the more popular character in the back if they need to (at long last). Granted Lyon completed the pattern of FE8 duo units that way, but it'd be weird to have Lissa and Frederick here without Chrom, so I think him being here is inevitable: we just need to see how.

2 minutes ago, Diovani Bressan said:

I expect Frederick to be the 4* special or the grail unit.

I think he's going to be the Grail unit too, which is a shame. I think it'd be nice for him to get a busted kit - or at least something good enough to be the 4* focus.

  18. I just lost all of my Orbs so really hope we still get another 300 this month so I can pull on the Engage HoF. We won't get another calendar until next week, will we?

Also, in preparation for the upcoming Engage HoF, I'm crossing my fingers for OG!F!Alear to be featured so I can turn her into a godsword. I don't think we've gotten any new relevant skills for her in the past month so is the following still an optimal set-up for her? And are there any better/ other strong alternatives I should get instead? Thanks in advance everyone! I've listed a second best option for each slot and I'd appreciate your feedback on whether those really are "second best" or better too, if possible. Thanks again!

    Quote

    (Liberation & Rally+)
    No Quarter (second best: GLR)
    Atk/Spd Finish 4 (second best: Atk/Spd Prime 4)
Potent 4 (second best: Spurn 4)
Incite Atk/Spd (second best: Atk/Spd Pledge)

S Slot: would probably be DC (especially if I get Atk/Spd Finish) or an Atk/Spd boosting one (more likely with Prime).

P.S. Is Null/ Petalfall Blade+ still the best weapon available from HoF for swordies at the moment? Thanks again - again!

As long as you plan on pulling more copies of Ginnungagap.

That's what I wound up doing so I may go for her Divine Codes path down the line. But Heather's on there for 800 and Incite is now on my R!Lif (along with Fatal Smoke 4) so I'm not TOO worried about getting more of her. Not that I can afford to be.

11 hours ago, Ice Dragon said:

Special Fighter 4 is currently the standard B skill for slow armors that already have a guaranteed follow-up on their weapon (and aren't running Hardy Fighter), provided there isn't too much overlap in skill effects. Fast armors have a few more options (Savvy Fighter 4, Gambit 4, etc.), though it still mostly depends on what skill effects are overlapping with other slots.

D/R Far Trace is also the standard C skill for slow Far Save armors. You typically want to run D/R over either of the Atk options unless you're extremely confident about the defensive stat you're not getting.

Odd that despite BK's stats and A skill his kit is tailored for slow Armors. Huh. I don't have any of those I want to level up at the moment but we'll see if any interesting Armor units show up as GHB or TT rewards down the line I guess.

But for now, my B!Eirika has been updated! She's using No Quarter + Flared Sparrow + Incite Atk/Spd on top of her default kit. May she not let me down!

  20. 2 hours ago, Ice Dragon said:

Remote Sparrow is the safest A skill for ranged units, even when they have access to Flared Sparrow and even when they're running Fleeting Echo.

It's always up to you how much bulk you're willing to sacrifice for damage and vice versa, and there isn't really a right answer.

It is worth noting, though, that Remote Sparrow has significant distribution (1 unit in the standard pool, 2 in the Legendary/Mythic/Emblem pool, and 7 Special Heroes) compared to only 2 units with Incite Atk/Spd (1 in the standard pool, 1 in the LME pool), so skipping out on being able to duplicate Remote Sparrow isn't too big of loss.

Arcane Eljudnir is always worth considering giving to slow sword units that don't have an exclusive weapon or have an outdated exclusive weapon if you're using one.

Atk/Def Clash 4 currently competes with Atk/Def Prime 4 for the A slot on slow melee cavalry and fliers and will also compete with a future Flared Sturdy. However, Prime 4 is only really competitive on units that have a means of not dropping dead to magic (or if you can ensure they'll only fight physical units on enemy phase), and Flared has no effect on enemy phase, so despite the fancy alternative options, Clash 4 is always going to at least remain competitive with them.

    Thanks as always, Ice!

I jumped the gun and gave Peony Atk/Spd Prime 4, No Quarter, Flared Sparrow and Atk/Spd Oath 4. Oops.

But my plan now is to feed Merric to R!Ophelia so she gets both Remote Sparrow and Incite Atk/Spd, then use both units to load R!Lif up on Flared Sparrow, No Quarter and Incite Atk/Spd so I can then use him as as All-In-One fodder supply for Cavs (and a source of Eljudnir + Incite for Sword Infantry + Cavs). I hope everyone considers that a good use of fodder! Please stop me if it's not!

Edit: New idea - is it worth giving Remote Sparrow & Incite Atk/Spd to Ginnungagap instead? Granted I need to reach the end of a Divine Codes path to get a second copy, but it's one with Heather (more Remote Sparrow) and B!Soren (Flare + Mag FU) so... that's worth it, I think? I don't know if BK's fodder is considered worthy now though.

But at least this way I have Ophelia free to store Atk/Spd Finish 4 + Atk/Spd Pledge. Not that I have any illusions of getting any other Infantry Rearmed/ Attuned Heroes to pass them along to...
