  1. If you pay attention in the 3D games, whenever Remoraid or Octillery uses a beam attack, they are shown being "thrown back by the recoil" as if they were using a real gun. Also pay attention to the positions and shapes of Remoraid's fins. They seems to be styled after guns. This picture might help: https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRu5-_FxmaN5dIOmFMksoQ2FLo02szremwBoeCgPPwOu1SsuS9l
  2. Clydesdales, the real life horse Mudsdale is based on, can grow to over 18 hands tall. A hand is four inches, so this would be 72 inches or 6 feet. A horse is measured from the ground to its withers. Mature Clydesdales weigh between 1600 and 2400 pounds, as much as a Volkswagen beetle. So really, Mudsdale is not that different than them.
  3. Yeah, Defog is now an incredibly useful move in competitive battling, which ironic considering it was after it became an HM. You can always teach it to Pokemon in Gen 4 and transfer it it all the to thr current Generation. It takes a while, but it's a way to obtain it.
  4. I was about to post that when I was going to respond to that comment. That battle was awesome!
  5. I have to disagree. Gen 1 still sells more than others by a lot. It's the Generation that everyone recognizes. Both kids and adults know Gen 1 Pokemon. They have been in every single game, so people will recognize them regardless of what Generation they started. And even the adults who doesn't play Pokemon anymore recognizes them, which can influence them to buy Pokemon products to their kids. Also, back in the late 90s, the Pokemon fever was at it's strongest, and it was only Gen 1 Pokemon back then, so even those who never played Pokemon in their life, people who barely know anything about Pokemon at all and even people who dislike Pokemon still recognizes Gen 1 Pokemon. All of these facts makes them very easily marketable.
  6. I don't think it has any deep meaning, remember that it was the same thing in Ruby/Sapphire with the player's family moving from Johto.
  7. To be fair, before Serperior got Contrary, Samurott was arguably the best Unova starter. Although that's not really a lot since the Unova starters weren't very impressive in battle, compared to other starters.
  8. I was hoping that there would be four trials per island, but thinking about it, it would end with 16 trials, and it would be a little too much I guess, so 7 is a good number. And from the looks of it, the Litten line will be of fast physical fighters. I guess being bipedal will Littens's final evolution as it will allow it to learn more attacks. Also, Popplio's line seems to be wall with good special attack. I actually see potential for those Popplio's and Litten's evolution for those two. Water/Fairy is great offensive typing and Litten's evolution might have the right combination of stats, moves and type. I do hope they will introduce a more safer physical Fire attack. Flare Blitz is good, but it makes harder for Pokemon to last.
  9. It's Satoshi Taijiri who has said to have Asperger Syndrome, not Masuda. It's probably the reason he rarely talks and appears in public. It's why Masuda is pretty much the spokesman of the Pokemon series. If he had Asperger, he wouldn't be the one chosen to speak to the public. And I don't mean to be rude, but please be careful when spreading information if have no reliable source.
  10. Here's something interesting from one of the investors: https://mobile.twitter.com/bk2128/status/789353840592072704 Perhaps there's a new handheld on the way?
  11. From what I know I think it's like this:Remoraid is a pistol and it "upgrades" (evolves) into a cannon, Octillery. It's even in Octillery's name meaning, which is a mix of the words Octopus and Artillery.
  12. Here's your answer: From an evolution perspective, they're part of the same order (Piciformes), only branching off into their own families (Picidae for woodpeckers and Ramphastidae for Toucans) and lately DNA testing has shown they are related. Kinda suprising, isn't it?
  13. Actually, I can't think of Archie as scary, he really isn't. It's kinda ironic seeing Archie crazy during the entire episode, since Alpha Sapphire's Archie is probably the most friendly and chill Evil Team Leader out there. Seriously, he seems to genuinely like the player and always treats the player with respect.
  14. I understand his point, I really do. But I think he's being a bit misguided. Then again Gen 1 fans tend to be the loudest. About Gnoggis video, is it really their fault? How could they have know he was going to release that video on that specific day? Besides, I'm pretty sure the info about UBs being catchable was a slip-up from the guy being interviewed.
  15. In Alpha Sapphire, if you go to Shelly's room in the Team Aqua you can find picture that says "With Archie and Jirachi", here it is:https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRJachg1LFIpMJG9krrqjcAHHhuRc-GiGS0Ydr6dJCbnJdiwUw0i7n3GheQhQ When he awakens Kyogre, Archie also says that he wanted to created a world where he could together with "that Pokemon". Can't find a picture of that one though.
  16. Speaking of Save files, Pokemon really should multiple files. I wonder why they don't. On a different note, take a look at this merchandise. It's a Mario/Pokemon crossover, and yes it's official merchandise! http://www.siliconera.com/2016/10/21/pikachu-mario-crossover-brings-cute-new-merchandise-japan/
  17. Jamieson Price was perfect as Archie. He really nailed Archie's descent into madness. I also think this episode really nailed the "natural disaster" theme in Hoenn. While I liked Team Magma's episode, this one with Team Aqua was far superior. I kinda sad that Brendan/May didn't appear, because I really like Archie's relationship with them. He genuinely likes them and even call them "little scamp". And when you beat him he's actually proud of you! Another thing that could have appeared is Jirachi, and maybe explore Archie's relationship with it. Maybe it's because I played Alpha Sapphire, but I really loved this episode. Anyone else here played Alpha Sapphire?
  18. I did notice her lack of necklace, but something struck me as weird. In Olivia's bio, it mentions how she is rather young for a Kahuna, which implies that she might be the youngest one. Isn't it strange for them to say that Olivia is young for a Kahuna when there's a much younger one? Also, not all Trial Captains wears their "badge"(for a lack of a better word) as a necklace. Sophocles, Lana and Mallow wear theirs on their belt, Ilima on his hair and the Ghost captain seems to wear it as a bracelet. The girl that may be the Ground captain might wear hers on her boots. Granted, the girl could be just a important or even random NPC for all I know.
  19. Good point, forgot about those.Speaking of version exclusive, I wonder about Drifloon and Misdreavus. In the japanese trailer that talked about the time differences, Drifloon appeared in Sun while Misdreavus appeared in Moon. However it's also worth noting that when Drifloon appeared, it was daytime, and while when Misdreavus appeared, it was nighttime. Could it be that Misdreavus is nocturnal while Drifloon is diurnal? It would make sense for Drifloon to be diurnal as it usually appear in bright places, unlike most Ghost type Pokemon. Then again, in the Gen 2 games Ledyba was exclusive to Silver and diurnal while Spinarak was exclusive to Gold amd nocturnal, so it could be the same for Drifloon and Misdreavus.
  20. You forgot that Wishiwashi has already been confirmed to be Totem, and it was said there is a Totem Pokemon for each Trial Captain. So, it's likely that there will be others too. Now that I think about it, is there any blank after Wishiwashi? It's odd because Wishiwashi has been pretty much confirmed to be a Totem Pokemon. Another weird is the lack of a Ground type Totem Pokemon, which is weird because in the Demo trailer there is a girl that appears to be a Trial Captain who is accompanied by a Mudsdale. This is actually really weird.
  21. The reason why I think Lurantis and Morelull are going to be version exclusie is becuase they are both family with Pokemon that only evolves once, the families are side-by-side in the Pokedex, they are both Grass types and are likely to be in the same are. I could be wrong though. Also, Lurantis could be a Totem Pokemon in Sun, while Morellul's evolution is the Totem Pokemon in Moon. Lurantis at least, is confirmed to be a Totem Pokemon. And I didn't get the second part of your post. What did you mean by version exclusives switching versions?
