  1. It should be noted that players can choose the "Dragon" talent for Corrin to have if they like the Wyvern Rider class tree enough. This is done even before chapter one begins so I don't see how it isn't possible for Corrin to acquire this class outside of getting close to Scarlet in Birthright.

Because I was assuming OP had already started the game. Even if he hadn't, planning to marry Scarlet and choosing Dark Mage or Fighter as you Talent gives Corrin two Nohrian classes he can't get from his friends in Birthright (his Talent + Wyvern Rider) whereas Felicia will always just give him Troubadour, which he can get elsewhere.

  2. FE7!Marcus and Seth are actually exceptions to the rule (along with Titania from Path of Radiance) because they're both really, really good (Seth especially, he has great growths for some reason). You can use them as one of your main combat units the entire playthrough on each of their game's hardest difficulties and they will be excellent all game long. No joke, Seth is better than like, 90% of the rest of his game's cast combined.

Jagen himself is probably the most apt comparison to Revelation!Gunter, with his low bases and low growths, but still decent for his prepromoted utility (at least until Revelation starts choking you on deployment slots). Conquest!Gunter is in an odd spot, though, kind of like a later-joining Zealot.

Gunter's low growths actually feel really unecessary. In the prologue, his growths don't matter at all because he can barely gain EXP, and when he rejoins in Conquest, he comes at a point where his stats don't really put him far ahead of the rest of the cast. If the purpose of a Jeigan is to protect weak units until they inevitably surpass him, it seems odd to have that Jeigan absent for the twelve chapters wherein other units are actually weaker than him. As it stands, he's a late game unit who is utterly awful for seemingly no reason.

In Revelation, his actual presence in the early game means he could actually serve a Jeigan role, but his base stats are so awful that unpremoted units with similar stat spreads like Subaki and Oboro render him obsolete within a mere two or three chapters, and his growths leave him no room to catch up.

  3. Yes, it's impossible to recruit all the game's units if you marry Felicia, because one man in the army won't have a wife to conceive a child with. So if that matters to you, definitely choose Scarlet. Scarlet also gives Corrin and his daughter access to Wyvern Rider skills / classes they couldn't get otherwise in Birthright, whereas Felicia's class can be easily acquired from an A support with Jakob or Dwyer and therefore she gives nothing unique.

  4. To get the world's worst Kana.

    Gunter!Kana:

    37% HP

    20% STR

    15% MAG

    22% SKL

    22% SPD

    30% LCK

    15% DEF

    15% RES

    What's funny:

    Binding Blade's Marcus

    25% STR

    20% SKL

    25% SPD

    20% LCK

    15% DEF

    20% RES

Kana's not even a Jeigan and his growths are worse than one.

To be fair, Fuga's not much better. But at least Fuga can actually carry his weight with his huge bases.

  5. Can someone definitively say how to pronounce Shigure's name? Is it pronounced like "SHEE-gurr-ay" or some other way?

EDIT: Never mind, it seems Azura pronounces it "shih-GURR-ay" ingame. :P

Syllable stress doesn't really exist in Japanese in the same way as it exists in English or in other Romance and Germanic languages, so Shigure is most accurately pronounced as SHEE GU REH with separated syllables, which, in practice, tends to sound more like SHEE-gu-reh.

Of course, the localization changed the pronunciation to shee-GUUU-reh, like we tend to do with all Japanese names in Western productions, as it's closer to European names like ma-REE-ah and ro-BEAR-to.

    tldr both are right

  6. As a Great Knight in Revelations it would take Gunter:

Approx. 118 levels to cap his HP

Approx. 108 levels to cap his Strength

Approx. 100 levels to cap his Skill

Approx. 340 levels to cap his Speed

Approx. 116 levels to cap his Defense

Approx. 440 levels to cap his Resistance

To put this into perspective, it takes 18 Eternal Seals (216000G) to cap his highest stat and 86 (1032000G) to cap them all

Of course you could reclass him to a class with a higher growth bonus, but the highest growth he can possibly have in any stat is 45% HP growth as a Berserker which would still take 92 levels to cap.

He doesn't even get that class unless you marry him, and why would you do that to yourself?

  7. I'm by no means a pro. But what I've been doing is getting the initial classes skills and then heart sealing to get the others. For example, I got Odin to level 10, then reclassed him to samurai. He'll get the two samurai skills after he levels up twice (one skill per level). Same thing once they get promoted.

    My questions...

    1. Is Effie best off as a general? I'm thinking of doing that and giving her boots since you get a decent amount of them in this game (From having all the paths).

    2. What is Odin best as for his final class? I have in samurai right now but it's pretty disappointing. Should I take him back to dark Mage? The only other magic user I have is Nyx and I'm not a fan of her.

    3. How can I increase Arthur's hit rate? It's so low and I hate it. If i gave him a goddess icon would that help? He does have a decent amount of skill. Would turning him into a paladin help?

    4.

    1. She likes the STR and DEF as a General, and to be honest, she doesn't really need the 7 MOV or want a Beast Killer weakness.

    2. Odin's disappointing in general, but his stats are somewhat tailored for the Dark Knight class. His personal skill, however, tailors to classes with Crit bonuses, like Sorceror and Swordmaster. I find that his best niche is Sorceror + forged Mjolnir, for that massive Crit, although his daughter does it better. You could do the same with Swordmaster + forged Killing Edge, if you've already pumped time into Samurai.

    3. First of all, remove the Gamble skill that he learned at level 10; it reduces his hit rate by 10. Berserker and Hero both have more Skill than Paladin and Hero still gives him Swords (which are nore accurate than Axes), so Paladin is a step in the wrong direction.

  8. Samurai nets you Duelist's Blow, Vantage and Swordfaire, which are all excellent. But Archer grants you Quick Draw, Certain Blow, and Amaterasu, which are also pretty good. Just go for the one you like more, as you'll get effective skills from both. If you want to truly optimize, go for Hana, as every Samurai and Swordmaster skill is useful and the time you spend in those classes will be easy to handle because you can still use the Yato.

  9. Oh, okay. I thought for some reason Aptitude was the only exception. My mistake.

    So, to sum up...

    Every unit can learn every skill in the whole game WITH THE EXCEPTIONS of;

    1. Azura's Songstress skills

    2. Corrin's Nobility and Dragon skills

    3. Kaidan and Keaton's Beast skills

    4. Enemy-only skills

    5. Amiibo-only skills (with the exception of the Hero and Exalt's Brands)

In addition, Kaidan, Keaton, Female Corrin and Azura's kids can all have Beast skills, every single kid could have Nobility and Dragon skills, and I guess every kid could have Songstress skills, as well.

Do I have all this right? Have I made any mistakes in my conclusions?

Also Villager skills, which only Mozu and every kid can learn.

  10. I think Rescue staves are a Hoshidoan exclusive. You can get them by visiting other people's castles who have Birthright or, I assume, Revelation.

You can't buy Rescue staves from someone else's castle (or any limited stock staff/weapons for that matter). They are simply a very rare find in Conquest.

What's Oboro's ideal option for a best friend? She's married to Niles, so Mozu's Archer class would be a bit redundant alongside Apothecary AND Outlaw, while Orochi overlaps with Basara, so that leaves Beruka and Rinkah.

Well Surefire Blow from Bowman is always nice, but if you want to make Oboro a Spearmaster, Rinkah is a great choice so that you can grab Death Blow and stack that crit bonus. If you're looking for a new final class, though, Beruka's Wyvern Lord will let Oboro use her Lance rank, and grab Savage Blow.

Personally I'd go with Rinkah to grab Salvage Blow and Death Blow, then head back to Spearmaster.

  11. About scaling:

    4) Do DLC/Paralogues scale in Birthright and Revelations as well? I only have Conquest so far.

    5) DO the EXP/Gold DLC scale as well? If yes, how should I proceed with unused low level units?

EDIT: 6) Forgot to ask: Do accessories transfer to a new game or something? It takes a lot of time to get them, specially multiple copies.

    Thanks!

    4) Yes.

    5) Yes. It's pretty unsafe for a very underleveled unit to grind in Boo Camp, and you can't even trap or chip the enemies because the gold ones have Pass. However, you can use the Scout option on the world map to summon Challenge battles at appropriate levels, letting your units easily catch up.

    6) No. They're just really expensive for no reason.

  12. ...Oh.

    ...Wonderful...

    So, I guess the best way to accomplish my task is to;

    1. Set up a file where Corrin has all S support ranks ready to unlock right before the final chapter.

    2. Copy that file, choose a spouse, beat the final chapter and then choose the spouse as one of the 5 units you pick for the logbook.

    3. Open the original file that's set before choosing a spouse and purchase all the skills they only get being married to Corrin.

One question, with a possible follow-up. When you pick 5 units to put in the logbook, do they only transfer the skills they have equipped, and not the entire pool? If that IS the case, will it be possible to open the second file where the spouse is, change their skills and then update the logbook with a different set of skills, go back to the original file and purchase the new set?

...Dear God, that would take FOREVER.

You can buy from the entire pool, but it would still take forever as the skills/class you contribute depend on your Corrin's Talent, so you'd actually need over a dozen complete new games, with both genders. So yeah, getting every skill on everyone isn't something you can feasibly do alone, unless you have A LOT of time on your hands.

  13. The thing is, every unit can marry Corrin, so every unit can legitimately get almost every skill. The only exceptions are that no first-generation unit can get Nohr Princ(ess), Songstress, Villager, Wolfskin, Wolfssenger, Kitsune or Nine-Tails skills unless they have that class to begin with. Any child unit can have those skills, however.

Every other limited skill isn't purchasable anyway, like Speed Drain.

Therefore the list of every skill a unit can obtain is just... every skill, except for skills from the aformentioned unique classes.

  14. I've found that I can immediately visit another castle as long as I don't enter a building back at my castle. You can talk to people and collect your food and ore, but anytime I enter a building (usually checking out all the explanation marks) it's triggered the wait, though it's possible that it's just my system.

When you visit a castle, you establish a connection to the Internet. You break that connection if you enter one of your own buildings or leave your castle. You can visit as many castles as you want on the same connection, but once you break it, you'll have to wait five minutes.

So it's best to all your castle visits one after the other without stopping to shop.

The Internet connection breaking is signified with a short pause and a little loading jingle when you leave your castle or enter a building.

  15. Scout and purchase a challenge on a map that's about 2000G for the unpremoted units, and the most expensive one for your main team. You can see the boss's level whent you scout a challenge, so choose one about three levels higher than the unit you're training.

If you have the cash, Scouting is much safer for grinding low-level units late-game than Boo Camp. If you're lucky you can even score Raider weapons from event tiles and stat boosters from ninja and outlaw bosses.

  16. So to be clear, I still gain exp from My Castle battles and offline invaders?

It doesn't matter what difficulty you're on, be it Lunatic or Normal. In Conquest, you only gain EXP from story chapters, Paralogues and Boo Camp. In Birthright and Revelation, you gain EXP from everything.

Lunatic is simply a difficulty increase.

  17. If you got the Great Knight class because if the Cavalier skill tree, like if Arthur used the Heart Seal, you'll get Cavalier skills. If you got it from the Knight class tree, like if Charlotte got it from marrying Benny, you'll learn Knight skills. If you have both trees (like if Arthur or Silas married Effie) you'll learn both Cavalier and Knight skills.

  18. I have never tested if Quixotic stacks, but I have tested for skill proc priority.

I made a Kana with 100% Rend Heaven rate and access to Astra, Dragon Fang, Luna, Sol and Lethality via Nohrian Trust. I found that every other battle skill can still proc, demonstrating that Rend Heaven has the lowest proc priority, and that you cannot make "dead skills" that will never activate.

All you need to do to get 100% Rend Heaven is get Quixotic, Hoshidan Unity, and at least 50 SKL, which is achievable almost naturally on Kana and on other units with Rallies/Tonics/Singing/Pair-Up/Meals.

    A possible Kana build:

    Setsuna!Percy Kana +9 Skill Mod

    Hero

    Skill stat of 44 (48 w/statues)

    W/

    Skill +2

    Quixotic

    Hoshidan Unity

    Nohrian Trust

    Rend Heaven

    =exactly 100% Rend Heaven rate

  19. The following non-retainer units appear as promoted enemies, too:

    Charlotte - Berserker

    Benny - General

    Hayato - Onmyoji

So we actually have a given in-game canon promotion for everyone in the first generation except for Kaze (who has unique Master Ninja colours), Silas (who has unique Paladin colours), Orochi (who has unique Onmyoji colours), Elise (who has unique Strategist colours) and Nyx.

  20. In conquest what is the average number of units you can bring with you on a chapter? I want to plan my team early in advance.

The number grows steadily until about chapter 16, and after that you can usually deploy around 12-14 units. It's about the same in every route.

I usually do six pairings + Azura. That's not to say that I don't have Azura married, just that, as a pure support unit, it's often a waste of someone's turn to have them fight alongside her. Then in chapters where I'm allowed 14 I throw in a pre-leveled support unit like Flora, Shura, Yukimura or Izana.
