  1. I have one small question. Are map narrations back in this game? I did't realise I would miss them, but I felt something was off about them not being in Awakening.

You mean the story text that would explain the plot as you approach your destination in the previous games? No, that is still absent. Like Awakening, you choose a chapter and then plot happens.

  2. So there is none right?

But how come? Why can't the characters on the opposing side not find happiness of their own accord? Must it always be the player who makes the decisions for them?

Like if you play Hoshido, Marx will stay single throughout and won't find marriage.

How do you know they aren't falling in love offscreen? It is just never adressed, because the characters on the other side aren't focused on. I think it would be a little out of place to have Marx or Ryoma mention his wife when he is trying to fill you with sword lighting
  3. Parallel seal from Falcon Warrior level 5 and you'll be a Singer level 25. But there aren't enough parallel seals until late game to do this, really. In Hoshido you get one parallel seal from the store and don't get another for over ten chapters, and by then if you have been using Aqua's song regularly she'll be around level 21 or so.

  4. In the Hoshido path, there is an option on the world map called "seek the enemy". You select a map tile, then pay an amount of gold to summon an enemy encounter to that space. The strength of the enemy and the cost of the encounter depends where on the map you put it, with the locations of later chapters generally costing more and giving more exp.

Enemies don't give huge amounts of EXP, and you'll find that if you're about six or seven levels higher than the enemies in the encounter you won't get more than 1-5 exp per kill. However, you can pay to put two encounters on the same space, placing two bosses on the same map and therefore making grinding a bit more efficient. It is much more efficient than Awakening because by midgame you'll make about 3000-4000 Gold per encounter, then a bullion from Lilith, which is greater than the cost of the average encounter.

So I'd say it is more effective than Awakening but much less so than the Tower of Valni in FE8, where you were guaranteed 2-3 levels everytime you did the first floor.

Note that grinding isn't always the answer in Hoshido, though, because everyone a crap growths and there are limited master seals.

As for question number 2, there is a map in the Third Path, but I don't know if it has Seek the Enemy.

  5. What are the base weapon ranks for classes this time around? I saw that you guys already gathered the maximum class stats, but I'm curious if we departed from Awakening's way of promotion/class changing always giving you E-Rank with your new weapons.

Every promotion I have done has given an E-rank to the new weapon type. Elite Ninjas get an E rank in Swords, War Miko get an E rank in Bows, et cetera.

  6. No one commented on Asama yet? I've seen his growth and he looks amazing.

Probably because by the time he shows up you already have Felicia/Joker and Sakura for healing, so he's easy to overlook. Sakura will probably be a level or two higher by then, too. And since Sakura can Dragon's Vein and is adorable, he fades into obscurity.

  7. I have an A Support with her and the female Avatar, and I can post screenshots so someone can translate. I could also try to translate it myself, albeit slowly. Their C support has five lines of just "......." which is pretty funny.

She is a great unit. At 20/1 as an Elite Ninja she had 23 STR, 27 SPD and 20 RES.

  8. I've found that he stays plenty able to survive, heal, and sometimes chip at things, but it seems that even with plenty of use he eventually loses the ability to deal much damage or take on large numbers of enemies, at least on Hard. What difficulty were you playing?

I play on Hoshido's Hard, but I perhaps got a little lucky with his strength growths. I'll admit he was too squishy to place in the middle of a hoard of enemies, but really nobody in my party ever could except for maybe Oboro. Except for the late game, everyone in Hoshido is squishy.

  9. Joker can probably be called OP. He has the best weapon type, great starting stats, can heal from the onset, is available right from the start, and will have no trouble leveling up because he can fight and heal. He's so hot good that he made my female playthrough leagues easier than the male one.

  10. Kagerou comes with a usable stats and level, and her strength and speed growths are sweet. You get her for chapter 11 and by chapter 13 she had 26 STR and 29 SPD. Not to mention the Ninja class' high resistance and access to the best weapon type in the game. Made me completely forget about...

...the loss of my true love suzukaze

  11. Thanks for info! And sorry to be a bother, but I got another question, do these random encounters only give gold, or do they also give random items, like the random encounter bosses of awakening?

Mostly just gold. Weapons are only really dropped in story chapters in FEif. At least up to chapter 14, random enemies just hold money.

    Seems dlc will be grindvile.

Are there stuff like reeking boxes?

There is a menu option "seek the enemy" on the map, where you select a map location and an enemy spawns there, just like a reeking box. The amount of money and strength of the enemy depends where you summon them, unlike reeking boxes.

  12. Can you grind only once per chapter or as many times as you want?

Every chapter, a bunch of random encounters appear on the map. You can pay gold to make more appear, whenever you want. It costs anywhere from 1200-2500 gold, depending on the map space, but you'll get gold during the fight so you'll never run out of money by the mid-game.

  13. To be honest, I just wanna know how classes are inherited.

(Almost) every character has a default class and one secondary class. The child class gets all the classes of the parents, and since all the classes are gender neutral there is no confusion there.

  14. The game's a lot tougher than Awakening, even in the Hoshido path, but grinding isn't really necessary, no. But I do like to grind and max out my characters.

The only reliable grinding so far is having one character wait and then having Akua sing to them so she gains 15 exp, but seventeen levels and I don't think she's gained a single HP point...

  15. Pretty sure we've known this for a while but I can't find it anywhere. Is there a way to, for lack of a better word, synch up your copies of the game so the route "choice" becomes an actual choice? Something like the Data Transfer function from Monster Hunter 4 to Monster Hunter 4G where you'd insert one game card, then the other. My friend said it'd be included as DLC, in which case is there a way you could somehow register both games to get a free code (or something similar)?

It seems kinda silly to place such import on the choice you make if you don't really get a choice in-game, you know? Anyways, it'd be nice if one of y'all could respond to this, since even though I'm near positive the information's out there I just can't find it and it's eating me up.

At chapter six, on the downloadable version (which is just called "Fite Emblem if" with no subtitle), a choice shows up asking you which side you follow. When you choose a side, it then downloads the data for that side from the E-Shop. If you play the game again and chose the other side, then you have to pay 1900 yen. So it actually is a choice in the DL version, and it was really hard for me!

  16. Are any of their ages actually stated, though?

I'd rather they censor everyone than censor a select few characters based on arbitrary assessments of their appearance

Tsukuyomi is explicitly stated to be a child in dialogue, and Elise at looks and acts like a little girl, even if her exact age isn't stated. But you are right in that they wouldn't just censor those characters, as the characters share a couple of generic body models and putting more clothing on one would cover them all up anyway, without extra programming.
  17. I don't know if anyone else has confirmed this yet, but do all the child paralogues show up at the same time?

In chapter 8, my Suzukaze married Rinka. In chapter 10, he died tragically. After chapter 11, Tsubaki's and Hinata's children's paralogues showed up, but none for Kaze, even though the story sequence after chapter 10 proved he wasn't dead canonically.

This either means that children don't appear if their dads die before chapter 10 (unlike awakening, where the mothers would retreat) or his daughter's paralogue doesn't show up until later. Anybody know?

  18. Nintendo of America is typically uncomfortable with underage characters in highly sexualized outfits, and considering that we can put Sakura and Elise in underboob-heavy bikinis and zoom in on Tsukiyomi in a G-string speedo, they'll definately be censoring something. And honestly, I think it is more than reasonable for them to make changes if those changes limit the sexualization of children.

They -will- censor that, and they should. A petition probably wont change that.

  19. Has anyone found any good or efficient ways to grind yet? The "Encounters" that are appear between chapters have enemies at really low levels, and even my lesser units only get about 1-5 exp per kill. The bosses only give 60 exp at best.

Spending gold to generate encounters doesn't seem to make them any stronger, either.

Has anyone found a way to grind that is efficient and comparable to the Tower of Valni in FE8 or even the Reeking Boxes in FE13? I'm on chapter 12.
