  1. Appreciate the reply! In terms of quantity, would you say that there are more or less than in Awakening?

Awakening had nine in total, but I can't count the number of CGs in FEif off the top of my head. I'd say that there are about the same amount, perhaps much more if you count all three routes.

EDIT: I forgot about the in-game movie list, haha. Hoshido and Nohr both have 12 or 13, 14 if you count the opening and the cutscene that was basically the Nintendo direct trailer. Of those, six occur before the story diverges, so that means there are likely about [(13-7)*3+7=] 25 CGs across all three routes, assuming the third path has the same amount of CGs as the others and that CGs aren't reused. (And I'm pretty sure that one is)

  2. How are the CG scenes in this game? I remember in Awakening, they were really good, but the majority of them took place in the beginning of the game, and the ones that followed weren't even that sophisticated. So for this game, how are the CG scenes in comparison to Awakening? As in how often, do we see them, as well as the content shown in them. No spoilers please.

There are a few important, cool, long ones before the paths diverge, then a small handful in each path. Like Awakening they are much more common in the first half of the game. They are all beautiful, although there is one in the Hoshido path that is a little bit... gratuitous and fanservicey. Still cool though.

  3. I think the idea was to grind money and buy stat boosters, though I'm not sure how you actually do that.

It would also more depend on what you want a certain character's final class to be, because capping stats in one class might not work for another, though it would be a bit odd, though possible, to "switch" between classes for whatever reasons

Every class increases certain growths, so by changing your class from Hero to say, Breserker for ten levels or so will give you higher STR when you return to the Hero class than if you had stayed in your base class the whole time.

And unlike Awakening, where every class gave like a 30%-50% bonus to their HP growth, in FEif some classes don't boost HP at all and the most they ever boost is 25%. The harder hit to the head is that the base HP growths are also generally lower than Awakening's, so everyone who isn't in a powerhouse class will have pathetic HP growth unless you reclass them.

Stat boosters are sold in the Level 3 shop but you can only buy one of each and you can't buy them from other My Castles, so I'm not sure if you can grind them. At least I haven't found a way yet

  4. ARGH. I wanted to save this path for my playthrough of the English release so I wouldn't be spoiled, but after having just beaten the Japanese version again, I'm really tempted just to download it right now.

Don't mind me, I'm just going to sit here and play Hoshido over and over until the English version comes out

  5. I feel very stupid for asking this but.... Can Aqua A+ with Hinoka (I think she can but I had some people tell me she can't)? I want to know that if Aqua can A+ with her, that she would get Lance Fighter from it. I would think she would since Hinoka would normally give Pegasus Warrior to her other A+ but since Aqua already has that as her second class set, because I want know if Aqua can have Lancefaire without having to marry Kamui.

I'm so sorry if this doesn't make sense and/or if I answered my own question. I'm just a little confused on how the Buddy Seals work on units with the same class sets.

Aqua can A+ with Hinoka. However, it just gives her Pegasus Warrior.

If you share your secondary class with your Buddy's primary class, then a Buddy Seal is just a glorified Parallel Seal.

I posted a list of Hoshido A+ supports on the previous page if you need it.

  6. Basically, look at the caps of the class you want them to end up as, compare those caps to Sakura's base growths, and see which class growths will give the most benefit over time.

I reclassed Sakura to a Pegasus Warrior at level 9 and at 20/18 as a Falcon Warrior she has capped her offences, skill, res, and speed, albeit with one or two stat-boosting items along the road.

Just remember that for almost every character you'll need to use Eternal Seals if you want to max out HP. Sakura at her current level has 29 HP. Most characters can hit their important stat caps by 20/15 but nobody on my team has capped HP naturally and only Ryoma even passed 42.

Aqua is the biggest pain, as she hit her level cap with 24 total HP. Even with four eternal seals, she's not going to reach Singer's cap of 45 without boosting items... so I recommend maybe spending some time with most units in a class with at least 15% HP growth bonus unless you plan to spending hours grinding money for eternal seals

  7. It was upsetting when

I was playing the Hoshido chapter in the sewers when Elise is like "Oh no don't hurt Effie and Harold!", because I stayed out of her range and went straight for Camilla only for the game to be like "nope, gotta kill all enemies in this chapter".

Silas beat Effie to death with a hammer. Marrying them in my next Nohr playthrough as a means of apology.

  8. Ihave been unable to find an answer to this question.

Are the map and victory conditions changed at all? As in we no longer have ONLY rout or slay the commander victory conditions. Along with going back to map layouts prior FE13?

Hoshido is mostly just rout or defeat boss, but has some "seize" and one "go here". Nohr has a handful of more varied conditions that you would expect from the GBA games.

  9. The cap is still 20, but using an Eternal Seal will push it 5 levels further each time.

Joker, Felicia and Aqua naturally have a level cap of 40. Moreover, all of them are unique in that they begin in promoted classes but have unpremoted base stats and have unpremoted EXP gain until level 20, so they act like unpremoted units for much of the game.

  10. gayserbeam: To clarify, when reading your chart, is the character in bold who can receive the A+ support from the subsequently listed characters, or are they the one who gives the A+ support?

Either ways. Orochi can choose to get Kagerou as her A+, and Kagerou can choose to get Orochi as her A+ if she wants.

-How is White Blood compared to Dark Blood(Black Blood??? Whatever Kamui's promotions are called...)

-Has children stats been figured out yet? I recall gayserbeam telling me that two speedy parents got together and the speed of the child was terrible.

-Does anyone know how the Amiibo characters are? Haven't seen people use them much in their videos.

    1) White Blood has staves, which I personally find more useful than Dark Blood's tomes. However, if you desire to make a magic Kamui, Dark Blood will let you stay in your base class. Dark Blood's Nohr skill lets you use your support unit's offensive skills when paired up, which is potentially very powerful, but White Blood's Hoshido skill will let you proc Dragon Fang reliably anyway. So I prefer White Blood, myself.

    2) Not sure if that was me who said that, but people are claiming that it is base growths + (mothers growths/3). Considering that the child base growths already seem reasonable, I'm not sure if it's true. My Kinu had Kagerou as her mother, and her strength isn't higher than her father's, but Grei had Orochi as his mother and he capped magic as a Weapon Master. Even then, his natural magic growth is apparently 50 anyway.

...so basically, I can't tell myself. But I can tell you that the base growths on the site are a good indicator for their development in-game, regardless of mother.

    3) Ike has decent STR growth and base strength and a cool unique weapon, but his low speed and reduced doubling threshold mean he's not necessarily top tier.

Marth is cool, his unique weapon is fairly powerful and he's really fast. If anything you can abuse Guard Stance+, which allows you essentially block every fourth hit when paired up.

Lucina and Robin are exactly what you expect. Rally Spectrum is still amazing.

They can't support, so they're still arguably inferior units. But they talk in battle and can pop up around My Castle like everyone else so they feel much less out of place than Einherjar in Awakening.

  11. Is there a complete list of all A+ supports available to each character? I am trying figure out my builds for all characters now ahead of time (and plan to avoid buying skills from other players, as that just feels like cheating and removed the limitations on what a character can and can't do)

I can give you a complete list for Hoshido, that's all I've got.

EDIT: Ninja'd by another thread. Head to page 42 or so of the pinned Supports Marriage and Children thread.

  12. Would be someone willing to explain more in depths how attack and guard stance work and what exactly attack&guard stance does?

attack stance is a chance of a support attack to get it you need to have to units stand directly adjacent?

guard stance blocks this support attack and can block normal attacks after collecting some charges(earned through attacking and getting hit)? and its used by "pairing up" correct?

Attack&Guard stance is a pair up with a chance of support attack and the charge mechanic of defensive stance correct? however it does not b lock the support attacks passively anymore.

also i would like to know if EXP is awarded to the support unit (i read somewhere that wasnt the case)

also on another note, support points are gained by standing right next to each other (or guard stance?) like before?

You're right but if you need clarification...

Attack Stance is when two units are adjacent. If one attacks, the other will attack afterwards for half damage. The support unit's attack has its own hit and critical rates. The support unit will attack only once, even if the lead unit doubles.

Guard Stance refers to when units are paired up. A guage appears under the lifebar that fills after every action in battle. When the guage is full, the support unit will block one incoming attack. Moreover, if a pair of units in Attack Stance attacks a pair of foes in Guard Stance, the support unit in Guard Stance will block the assist attack, essentially cancelling Attack Stance out.

Attack+Guard Stance is a skill that basically makes it like Awakening, but you still only assist attack once.

The support unit does gain EXP but only if they deal damage or block an attack. So you won't be gaining much assist EXP from guard stance.

Support Points will be gained after any battle in either stance, or even with adjacent units you didn't enter battle with, just like Awakening.

  13. Knoll and Lute had a Support where she stalked him for two Support levels and he was like "What!?" and her response was basically "I'm better than you!"

In a game with as many supports as FEif, or even as many as Sacred Stones, it's a huge effort to write them at all, let alone try and find some meaningful connection and opportunity for development with every possible pairing.

Allowing everyone to marry anyone is a game mechanic that allows for unique team building and eugenics children characters, but the sacrifice is realistic relationships. In these cases, comedy is appreciated.

Now, could the humor be better? Perhaps. But that's up to NoA's localization team. They did a good job with comedy in the Chrom/Fredrick and F!Morgan/Nah Supports.

If you'd rather complain that the number of unrealistic romanitic supports and the eugenics-simulator nature of the gameplay is absurd on its own then I can't really argue that... maybe I just have a high tolerance for weird anime bull.

  14. How does support rank affect attack stance and guard stance?

The stance itself won't do anything different, but if the unit's support levels are higher the stat bonuses they receive from entering a battle together will be greater.

Can you grind for supports in Nohr's My Castle, or are support gains removed from My Castle skirmishes like EXP gains are? I'm honestly kinda fine either way...

You still gain support points. It's handy in Nohr for nabbing S and A+ supports for units you don't use to get kids / reclass options.
  15. I WHOLEHEARTEDLY SUPPORT THIS.

If you farm to get 120 Steel Kunai and 154 of the appropriate gem you could forge 14 "Steel Kunai +3" with 13 Might, for about 240000 Gold.

You can also marry Aqua to Kaze. If Shigure already gets Rod Knight, you can nab Elite Ninja on him to get Kunaifaire.

You could also grab Luna, Bow Breaker, Rally Strength and Axe Breaker on the units that naturally get them before they reclass, or buy them from other castles.

    And most importantly, look sharp

  16. Basara because Breaking Sky.

    I'd argue against that.

Breaking Sky isn't very useful until very late-game, because most enemies will have at most 25 STR which gives a pretty mediocre bonus of +12 damage. Moreover, most enemies have 0-5 in the offensive stat they aren't using, so it really only works at all on units with the same weapon type as you. It might activate very often, but many of those activations will give bonuses of +5 to +10 damage.

Meanwhile the combination of Astra (which you could get from Samurai) and Dragon Fang (which you'll get naturally) will be significantly more powerful and reliable even with the lower activation rate.
