  1. Part 43 - This time for real. It's a tragedy, everybody. I'm fresh out of Berwick. I need more Berwick. That is all. I reply to you (yes, these are the actual replies): I update the thread (yes, this is the real update):
  2. Well, I couldn't resist the temptation, in the end. I have now finished the translated portion of the game. It has been an absolute joy to play through half this masterpiece, and I am sure it'll be a joy to play through the rest of it, in due time. Even this being an early version, the quality of the translation is top-notch, just like the TRS one. My highest regards to you, Aethin. You're great at this. Now that I've flattered you a bit, could you hurry up and release the full translation soon? Pretty please...? The finished version cannot come soon enough. Goodness, it's going to be agonizing to wait these remaining months out. But I will not finish the game yet. I want to experience the stories of my characters fully, so that in my next run, I can safely focus on the characters I didn't bother with / lost (R.I.P. Leon, I didn't know Guard didn't guard from arrows. R.I.P. Axel, you gave your life to ensure our victory in chapter 4. R.I.P. Daoud... actually, he didn't die, some NPCs did though). I just hope the saves will be compatible... Now, if you're interested, Aethin, I'll leave here all the typos and other small grievances that I found throughout the game. No doubt you know of at least some of these, and none of them are game-breaking or anything, but still, I'd like to help, even if it's just a tiny bit. It'll be rather long (mostly since I'll be posting screenshots of the things), so I'll put it all in spoilers. Here it is: Nothing else! Thank you again for your hard work. This is looking to take my top 3 of FE games by storm (both top 3s, in fact, it's not just the brilliant gameplay, the story's damn great too), and I, for one, am okay with that. Once again, I wish you good luck finishing the project! When the full translation comes out, could someone be kind enough to remind me to have Christine swap horses with Elbert? Gave her his Sinon Stallion for healing purposes at the end of chapter 8. Appreciate it!
  3. Part 42 - Shigen dies for ~15 turns. Please forgive me for the delay. Nothing bad this time, I've just been... waaaay too much into Berwick Saga. Few games have caught me so badly to the point where they're all I play for days. This is one of them. Chapter 7 of 8 translated chapters now. Aethin, I know the chance of you reading this is 0.000001%, but... oh, God, release the full thing...! I need more Berwick! More! MORE! People argue here: People die here:
  4. That's something. Don't think I can come up with much else to say. How does one manage to one-up Kaga when it comes to weird, inexplicable stuff? This whole scene was cool. Even if it reminded me that Raigh got captured alongside the others for no good reason and that's really annoying. Pah. Efficiency? That's for sissies. Real men take 50 turns to complete each map! I mean, they're both insane piles of crap. Difference is, Caellach does it in style. How'd he be supposed to lead, anyway? "Huuuurrrrrr huuuuunnnnnnn gooooooo keeeeeeeeell unnnnnhhhhhh" If you get to promote Kyle, you shouldn't need to be worried. Kyle knows his stuff, he was in the game before you even applied the FEGreen patch. Can't beat that sort of availability. So do I. Mage Knights in general looked awesome in FE8. A shame I barely ever see them, because I dislike Lute, L'Arachel's too much trouble and I like Moulder and his hilarious con better, and Ewan's better off as a dark mage if you do use him. Now he just needs not to physically harm my retinas whenever he appears on screen. I'd just like to point out that she can have higher level than HP, and succeed where her son failed. Sure, it'd take 28 levels straight of no HP, but all is possible. FE.txt He's the Lilina of Archers, then. Huh. How curious. Still worse than Leonie because no move growth. I just can't get over that, she's fuckin' buff, my Cecilia. I suppose she was tired of people making fun of her stats, so she's decided that she's gonna benchpress Zephiel next time she sees him and show everybody what she's capable of. Like father... ...wait, that's not right. Their father was edgy. Then again, so is Raigh. Yeah, it works. Like father, like son. Lugh, you absolute unit, leave some for your mother! Perhaps he senses that you're trying to feed the experience to her, and since he's still going through his angsty phase, he refuses to let you do it? This was me in my last run. My friend may've lost his mind in the river chapter of all chapters and now refuses to ever play FE in hard mode ever again, but he and my other friend at least had the satisfaction of watching me get the worst Ephraim in the history of Ephraims. Seriously, he was the worst Eph I've ever had in this game. A pain in the ass, that one. Then again, I also had Moulder and Colm competing to see which of the two was the tankiest unit of my team. No kidding. The Thief and the Healer, my tankiest units. Colm came out on top in the end, just barely, but Moulder capped speed and he didn't, so there's that. Besides, they were support partners, so it's not like I was going to bench one or the other anyway. ...it was a really fun run. I need to play FE8 again one of these days. This guy and the Chin are going to do great things, I'm telling you right now. This reminds me of all the times I had to pray to the RNGoddess not to get crits in the final chapter of FE12, because everyone has a 20% chance to crit at that point and can only take two or three hits from dragons. I dread the moment I get there in my current maniac run. Oh, yeah? Well... In all fairness, after what I put the kid through, I probably deserve it. Christ Almighty. This has to be the one of the oddest units in the game. Everything about him just screams "why?". Also, Cecilia is as strong as him. He accosted the game engine. It cannot keep up. Multiple times, but not as many as I have. That soldier was drunk, and just happened to nudge us in the right direction by complete accident. A happy accident, to be sure. It wouldn't be as random as the Sedgar situation, at any rate. Agreed. Now go and give ME views, Unknown, you lazy bastard! Nah just messing with ya
  5. I have been silently following this for a while. Suffice to say, I miiiiiight just be looking forward to this a bit more than Three Houses. Okay, more than "a bit" more. I love Tear Ring, but Berwick seems like it's on an entirely different level (in more ways than one), and I cannot wait to be able to play it. You're doing God's work here, my friend! Heck, I might just give it a shot as is when I finish my current FE12 run. I usually try to stay away from incomplete projects, but 24 translated maps seems like a very solid amount of text, and with translated menus it should be easy to continue from there, even if I'd miss out on the story (gotta say tho, 60 hours of gameplay sounds overwhelming... but so tempting). If I could just figure out how PCSX2 works... I wish you best of luck completing this project!
  6. Part 39 - Everything about this update is edgy. I've had some really tiresome days. I hope the quality of the update won't be affected. I got lost once, and nearly went back and reposted the same 20 or so shots with different commentary. Here's hoping I didn't do it elsewhere without noticing. Updates: Reply:
  7. Part 38 - A filler chapter in which I finally take less than 40 turns to seize. So I was playing Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb earlier. I know, noone cares, shut up. Thing is, I've found possibly the funniest glitch ever in the game. Here it is. Bask in its glory. This wasn't even hard to pull off, I did it by complete accident and then replicated it thrice for the screenshot. This is gonna be me when I reach that one chapter I've been talking about so much. I'll be sure to keep the image handy to use then. Replies: Update:
  8. Part 37 - Gameplay? In my plot update? Good news, everyone! I made it though Gotoh's Maniac Desert of Inconvenient Quests That Serve No Good Purpose And I Still Hate That Old Fucker's Guts Yeah with only one death! I truly have improved as a tactician! Bad news, everyone! That one death was Palla. Overestimated her, put her in range of a silver bow to protect Malice from a killer axe without realizing the silver axe nearby killed her with the silver hunter's help. What can I say. Worth. Malice deserves all the blood that needs be spilt. She's better than Ogma in every way, y'know? Then again, so is Merc!Matthis everywhere except speed. Really underwhelmed by the man, I must say. It's my first time using him, but he pales in comparison to those two, who happen to be some of my favourites. Oh, and then Linde, Feena and Frey died too. Gotoh already has a higher kill count in this run than anybody else. Old fucker, goddamn his fucking guts, always the same... doesn't even care his motherfucking castle is full of Thieves and dragons that crit everyone... getting slaughtered at his doorstep... grumble grumble... Also, I hate to admit it, but I don't have the heart to sacrifice Arran. I want him to live to see the world enter the era of peace that he helped usher in. He was so much help all the way up to Khadein... Replies: Update:
  9. Part 35 - Savage Eugen. Hey, it is I, Saint Rubenio! Self-proclaimed worst tactician ever and part-time universe destroyer! Why all this tomfoolery, you may be asking? Well, I just wanted to announce that, after playing FE11 (the final battle went pretty well, only Tiki and that shithead Gotoh died! Ergh, after a failed attempt where literally everyone died...), my friend moved on to FE12, and so did I. The last time I played only like 5 people died, so I was feeling pretty confident. And then I became overconfident and went Maniac. So yeah, just wanted to let you guys know I'm tackling FE12 Maniac again. Yep. This is all I can say. When If I give up, I'll let you know. 10. Part 33 - The good General. Forgive me for the late update. I was a little sick all weekend, and it was my birthday too, in one of life's little ironies. Also, I found my childhood game, Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb, on steam. I had a pirated CD of it for the longest time, but I used it so much throughout the years, it no longer works, so finding a way to obtain it again was awesome. A legal way, too! I don't care how much people hate Disney or George Lucas or whatever. This game's my fucking life, and I was glad to give them my cash to enjoy it again. Heck, I'd be willing to give them five times the five dollars I paid for it, after all the years of fun I got out of the game! Only half of this is nostalgia speaking, by the way, the game's absolutely great, and even if it can get a little buggy and derpy at times, the derpiness is usually more on the amusing side. To me at least. My favourite one is the one where he looks mad! Might use it in the future, even. Anyway, to summarize, didn't feel like copying text much for a few days there, but I'm back now, calm yourselves. Still, don't feel like it was all wasted time. Aside from the Emperor's Tomb, I've been playing FE11 with a friend (don't worry, Eclipse, I am using one of your dear skittles, so you don't have to ban me. Sniper Roshea, to be precise. He's doing good!), and, well... it has happened again. The legend... has resurfaced. I have no words. I guess it pays to be that one man in the whole wide world who unironically likes Matthis! And before you say it, no, I didn't throw a mountain of statboosters his way. That's all his own growth, except for a luck charm because I hate crits and a couple speedwings to fix his admittedly lacking speed. I probably wouldn't even have needed the second speedwings, but I saw that, if I gave them to him, he didn't get doubled by Camus, so I just went for it. Camus, tremble in fear, for the one and only Matthis is coming for you! Replies: Update:
  11. Ah, heck. Hopefully you'll be able (or have been already) to secure your files and everything important. That's a really shitty situation to be in, so you take your time, we can wait.
  12. Porky Minch, so he can be the boss of Lucas and Ness's campaigns. Might even pull a "Luigi fights Dracula" sort of joke and make him Wario's boss as well, or Wii Fit Trainer's. Old dude could really use some exercise, I mean, it's probably been thousands of years since the last time he used his legs. For the second boss, Andross would work wonders for Fox and Falco. Perhaps Wolf as well, even though Wolf is usually on his side. I guess he is an assist trophy already, but you could make his boss form be his more modern "monkey head" incarnations as opposed to his SNES form.
  13. Part 32 - An Archer to surpass Dorothy. Soooo I watched the Nintendo Direct after all. My first teacher of the day was absent that morning, so I had a couple more hours to sleep. Therefore, I decided, hey, 11 pm ain't so late, let's watch it fuck it. Was I satistied? Heck no, I wasn't! That was so disappointing! Super Mario Maker 2 was by far the best part, because it appears Luigi's going to be playable in this one (finally!). Now all I need is coop support and I might just get the game. Not sure otherwise, I really would rather not buy Nintendo's crappy online. But other than that? I wanted exactly one thing, the release date for Luigi's Mansion 3, but nope, better announce a thousand remakes and Yoshi's Crafted World. Of course, I suppose I should address the elephant in the room. Did I hate the Three Houses trailer for revealing that it's more like High School of the Crests DxD? No, I don't really. I don't like it, but it might make for cool customization of the army. Did I love it? Not that either. I feel lukewarm about it, mostly because they revealed absolutely nothing substantial. We got a world map, that's cool, but not exactly the world's greatest discovery; we were told that there are Three Houses in FE Three Houses again; Byleth was revealed to be the avatar (is there anyone who didn't see that coming from a mile away?); we were shown 5 minutes of school and 5 seconds of gameplay, and... that's about it. About the most shocking revelation was that there's a Leonie in FE3H, which means IntSys is ripping Kaga off. Again. Speaking of Leonie, let's get moving. I've got an update to push. Replies: Update:
  14. Sorry, I wanted to actually make an effort, y'see? I like Luigi. 'Sides, it's still technically a "Luigi survives by doing absolutely nothing" joke, if you think about it. Mario does all the work and he just kinda falls off a cliff. Still, I think I'm the only one who's taken this seriously thus far. Now I feel out of place.
  15. Luigi just cowers in fear, but Mario jumps in and pushes him out of the way, taking the shot for him. Luigi falls off the cliff and Galeem's forces believe he was taken out alongside Mario. Then he wakes up in the World of Light and, despite his tremendous fear, he swears to save his brother and the world. Lucky for him that Mario's the first encounter, eh?
  16. Part 31 - Finally! Before we begin, I'd like to ask everyone to keep a minute of silence for the great loss that we've just suffered. You will be missed dearly. Now, a surprise Nintendo Direct was announced for tomorrow. Where I live, it happens at 11 PM on a schoolday, and I don't ever watch these things anyway, preferring to just surf the web the day after and get a quick idea of all the announcements. Everyone's hoping they give news about Three Heroes and that guy from Guy 5 joining Smash (no, Japan, I'm still not over you using spanish words as names, you fuckers. I don't care why you did it, you named your series "person" and I'm entitled to get irrationally mad at it) and shit. Personally? I just want a release date for Luigi's Mansion 3. I don't give a damn about anything else, just give me a date. I waited for Luigi's Mansion 2 for years (it was the first game I ever actively waited for, too), and it was also the first game (and nearly the last) I ever pre-ordered. I bought the 3DS for it! Before that, I even had my mother order the original from overseas oh-so-many years ago when it still wasn't so easy. If there's a series I'm willing to completely forego all of my gaming principles for, it's that one. FE doesn't get the same luxury, sadly. I don't want to preorder a game for it to turn out to be three games. Or a waifu simulator. Replies: Update:
  17. Part 30 - Balls double my entire team. So, uh... for whatever reason, Imgbox has started to give me... porn game ads? I don't know what to say, I mean, they aren't super intrusive or anything, but it kinda shocked me, since the first few days I used the site, it didn't put any ads at all anywhere to be seen. I want to keep adblock turned off because if they go broke, I'll have to go image host hunting again, but on the other hand, I really would rather not have scantly-clad maidens gawking at me while I'm trying to drag pictures around. No, shut up, that's not gay, there's a time and a place for everything, and it's not the time and place when and where I write LPs! Replies: Update:
  18. I know, doesn't look like that much, but this man right here was my Durandal user in my last HM FE6 run. The run was going... let's leave it at "horrendously", so I was left with him and Perceval as my only choices for Durandal. Perceval might've been better, but this was so hilarious I just couldn't control myself. He killed Murdock. It was amazing. Who said Marcus can't break the whole game in two anymore in FE6? He's been breaking the game for fifty years, and he'll break the game for fifty years more, in the name of Pherae! ...why am I even participating in this thread you know exactly what I'm talking about you were there...
