  1. PeaceRibbon // PeaceRibbon // North America That's me if you wanna play with a relatively new player who like playing characters with healing skills.
  2. Hey do you guys think that if I post my info in the SF memberbase directory, I'll get warning points for necroposting? I started playing this game a few weeks back and I'd like to be listed there in case anyone wants someone new to play with, but no one's posted there since early 2015.
  3. I unfortunately learned some major reveals about the Avatar's identity. :(
  4. Yeah, I think I agree with everyone that fresh talent will make listening to the characters more fun. Still glad remnants of awakening's cast are still here, because even if sometimes the same people get in to all your favorite games, I view voice actors like I do regular actors. The fun of it is seeing how many kinds of roles one person can pull off, and judging what works are their best.
  5. As we get close to finishing up, I'd like to leave a quick thanks to the people who voted for me. Knowing that some other people like my work enough to publicly display that they'd like to see it contest for a higher spot made this all worth it. These votes might be few yet my heart conceals much bliss. I extend my thanks. Sorry if that's still a little sub-par balcerzak, but I couldn't think of any better way to thank 'em!
  6. Lyn from Xenoblade Chronicles X is pretty good. My major reasons come a bit too late in the game for me to discuss it here, but trust me. She's the character with the most effort put into her personality by far.
  7. Wow, that's generous of you to give us basically unlimited votes. Not that I voted for everything, just saying that's nice if you're an indecisive person.
  8. Personally, I like the new changes. If NOA left in the skinship that would have hurt my view of the game to some extent because the idea of 13 year olds pretending to suggestively rub people's faces is pretty cringe worthy. Also no dual audio is not a problem. I don't understand Japanese so the dub is automatically better for me. Overall, this game went from looking like an unfortunate misstep for the series, to an interesting new title I'm excited to give a chance to.
  9. Please, don't concern yourself with being too critical. This is the first time I've done something like this, so I knew someone who actually knows something about advanced poetry structure would say something to me. To be honest, your impressing me with how many subtle improvements you found. Maybe someday I'll try writing again with a more...professional attitude than "throw together some words that revolve around a central theme and make sure wordcalc.com says I got the number of syllables right". :P And yeah, I kinda realized stanza six was reeeeealy unclear. I just hoped people are creative enough to make their own interpretations on that part. After all, art's best when it strikes a chord on multiple fronts. Whoops.
  10. Aww, you put yourself (or at least a character of your own design) in the story! More written works with the avatar in them need to do this thing in my opinion. Good work man!
  11. So excited to share my work with you guys! I hope you all like something about the poem, and thanks for giving it a look. I'm open to any questions you have about my piece.
  12. "Hope will never die!"- Lucina "I didn't wanna do this!" -Olivia "So long sucker."- Gaius "Your demise is nigh." -Miriel "I love this part!" -Stahl "Time to tip the scales!" -My avatar to name a few.
  13. I guess I'm best at action RPGs. Besides the Tales Of series, I can pick up and play those games relatively easily. I am the best Smash Bros player in my area though.
  14. -Running out to the store to buy a copy with a friend getting the other version. -Finally deciding on a character to marry (because with incest out of the question for me, it's soooo hard). -Messing around with the avatar customizer for 10 minutes only to not change much of what I had planned ahead of time. -Unlimited weapons (yes!). -A good story (like in most games I play).
  15. Wow, the wait for the end is killing me. My entry was my first real creative thing I put on the internet so I'd love to get some constructive criticism on my piece. It's certainly an odd one, but it was fun to use my free time for it.
  16. Now that Corrin's almost here, how much do you guy's think opinion on Corrin's inclusion has changed outside SF? We know we're cool with it, but I remember everyone getting all up in arms over Corrin's initial announcement (and boy, that was the worst possible week for the internet to be filled with negativity).
  17. I'm gonna make a smaller recommendation of the 3ds's Boxboy. It may be easy at times and it's not very long, but it has a surprising amount of personality for a game that's black and white, and it's only 5 bucks so it worth a shot.
  18. Ok, I hear y'all. I don't know much of the story past chapter 6, so I just analyzed what I saw. At least now you know what a dude though of a cutscene. Also I wanted to feel smart. :P
  19. So I watched the fan translated scenes of the avatar choosing a side, and after some further analysis of both scenes, I've come up with a small theory about the writing direction of each story. Because of the localization, some stuff may be subject to change, but hey I like new stuff. In the Birthright version, the avatar explains the choice to Xander alone, and Xander doubts the avatar's words prompting him to attack the avatar until Ryoma can show up and save the avatar's life. In the Conquest version, the avatar explains his path to Ryoma, with Xander encouraging the avatar on. Ryoma tries to attack the avatar, but Xander blocks any blows. The last thing we need to notice is the camera's angle. During most of the Birthright scene, the camera looks down on the avatar whenever the avatar speaks for an extended period of time. In Conquest, the camera is generally level to the avatar, but in my opinion, it looks ever so slightly upwards. In cinematography, characters viewed from an upwards facing angle are more likely to give the viewer a sense of power than ones looked at from a downwards perspective. So what am I getting at? I theorize the story written for Conquest will ultimately make you feel more empowered than the story written for Birthright. The stories themselves could be any number of things, but I think the tone of Birthright will feel much more like a desperate struggle akin to past games, while Conquest will be more of a, well, story of conquest. Do I think this means one game will be better than the other? No, of course not! Stories of survival can be just as fun as romanticized war stories. I just felt like sharing the things I noticed with these scenes. So, do you think the stories of Birthright and Conquest will take this route? What are your ideas on the tone of the plot? Feel free to let me know! Do any of you realize how hard it was to make sure I always said "the avatar" so it would be all inclusive?
  20. Ya know, the more I play the game, the more I feel the dlc really isn't all that broken. I'm doing a run where I play EXPonential Growth once before every chapter, and the game still puts up a fight. Granted, I can't say the same for people who play it 20 times before each chapter, but it's just an example of it done right.
  21. I was inexplicably married. Nuff said. Didn't know who the girl was, or why I was in a science classroom, just got married. Thank heavens it was a dream.
  22. My knowledge of the characters is limited to the first six chapters of the game and the Serenes Forest character introductions, but here goes. Sakura takes my female vote because she's a sweet character who reminds me of my S-support from Awakening, Olivia. Sakura would easily become my next S-support if the thought of inbreeding didn't make me cringe. I'll happily take an A-support with her. As for male, I chose Hinata, because his design looks good, and his personality is one that sounds like on I'll enjoy. Besides, how can you look at that face and not get some good vibes?
  23. If they made one it would be sweet! My only worry would be that they wouldn't have anything original. Cinematic retellings of our favorite battles would be fine, but video game plots and dialogue only lend themselves to the screen so well before it starts to feel forced. Video games get away with stuff that's totally unacceptable in other forms of media.
  24. Whoa, you sung on an international level? I've done some cool events myself, but nothin' like that. That's sweet! Also, yeah, I went back and listened to Feel a few hundred times and yeah she is really swoopy. I just can't hear it as you often because honestly, I can't bring really myself to care about a song on a technical level that I don't understand the words to, making dubs or at least translations even more important to me. Excessive breathing in pop music is my actual pet peeve anyways.
  25. Never though I'd discuss musical terms on a fire emblem forum, but it happened I guess. Check out the post about the Japanese reviews for #FE if ya need proof. Also sorry if I got stuff wrong. :)
