  1. Apparently there's some controversy of the localisation and I'm not sure why. As you all noticed the dialogue is pretty ye olde English which apparently isn't the case in the Japanese version. The Japanese version doesn't use some old dialogue or long descriptions but is instead short and to the point. And also....kinda dull. Maybe its because I'm not a purist but I can only see it as an improvement.
  2. I kinda like that. They did raise a child together after all. Also most of the females are decades younger and some of them were even raised by them(or are their cousin!) so having an alternative to that would be welcome.
  3. We already have a baby banner but I think an adult banner would be far more interesting. A banner about teenage or child characters having grown up and are in the prime of their life. The Blazing Sword crew is the most fitting for such a scenario. Rebecca from when she's Roy's milk mother, Lyn's adult form or Pent in his retired state would all be good candidates for that. Another possibility is Gen 1 Genealogy characters in an alternative scenario where they were allowed to grow older, or the Awakening gen 1 cast from Lucina's timeline. For Christmas I think they should keep the santa suits at home and go full Christmas carol. Find a villain and dress him up as scrooge, then have him meet three heroes to learn him a valuable lesson. As for banners that need to come back. Obviously the pirate banner must return. Gra officer Gordin would be a fun disguised unit. He could even be an armor knight to reference he's tied up and thus not able to walk very fast.
  4. I think Shadow Dragon is a likely candidate. Its been reevaluated since its pretty icy reception but its still so basic that I suspect even people who like the game would probably put games with more obvious charm over it. Another strong contender is Fates because its got the most things that can put people off. Thinks like pseudo incest and shotacon are not at all respected in the community and the story being such low hanging fruit doesn't help matters.
  5. How Unicorn handles its world is not unlike how I'd like a FE4 remake to handle its huge maps. Don't scale them down but just put more in them. Towns, cities, sidequests, skirmishes and the lile.
  6. Perhaps its a bit too soon now but I think Alcryst is very likely as a bunny boy. For the same reason as Bernadetta as was mentioned earlier. The tyranny of Macedon might be over. Rather than the country itself the theme seemed to be the core group around Minerva and the Whitewings. Besides while IS tends to run seasonal traditions into the ground I think even they might pause at the idea of giving Mathis an alt.
  7. So whether its someone who broke street date or who rushed through the demo here's an interesting scenario that kinda bugs me. I sort of brought it up before. Apparently its possible to completely liberate Cornia before setting foot in another region. Because its an open world game I guess it makes sense that this should be possible but in terms of lore its a bit too wacky for my liking. The situation at the start of the demo is that after the coup Cornia did a Granvelle and conquered the entire continent. But if Cornia's conquered by Alain then why does the occupation of the rest of the world still happen? If they lost the war why don't they pack up and go home? Even if we were to believe the Empire just doesn't want to surrender its pretty hard to occupy four nations while your own country is taken over.
  8. Of the enemy bosses I think evil Alois from the swamps is my favorite so far. I think they even have the same voice.
  9. I had my suspicion because of the artstyle but the liberal use of jiggle physics really sealed the deal. Its the Dragon's Crown devs! I must say the jiggle physics can occasionally get pretty distracting. I noticed the main girl's...uh...girls juggled a lot while walking around, and the default animation of the griffin knight in particular is uh...animated in certain areas.
  10. I unlocked Adel chapter. I think its my favorite so far. Due to the large map and lots of seize locations it feels a bit like Genealogy. After the demo region is over I probable end up going to Drakengard. The preview characters shown to come from that location look the most promising to me. Among those you can recruit there are a fellow prince, a Lucius swordmaster and a woman who's huge. Not big but huuuge and I find that hilarious. There's also a particular character who seems to be (Redacted) which is a situation I look forward to. As far as the characters go they all seem pretty simple as well as their interactions together. For example it was clear as day that Lex the excitable puppy prone to getting hurt would get a report with the gentle cleric, or that there'd be a gruff older man who likes his drink. I don't mind though. Those sorts of archetypes and interactions come with the territory. Of the gang I'd say Travis is currently among my favorites. I think the laidback competence, mercenary past and bad relation with his sister is interesting enough. On par with him is our foul mouthed angel girl. Another favorite is the witch girl from the swamps. Chloe and Lex are a pretty simple example of Sain and Kent(like Sain Lex even gets to screw up in the tutorial) or perhaps Mae and Boey. I like em though. They seem charming enough.
  11. One interesting possibility is that cutscenes might change depending on what minor characters you have recruited. From preview footage these two seem to be the same scene except in one of them the optional witch party member is present and in the other she is not. Of course its also possible the scenes are different and just happen to share the same background and involve the same villain.
  12. I'd say the demo is pretty good. Convinced me to change my mind from checking the game out after I've finished Persona and Rebirth, to getting the game at launch. The gameplay is fun, it sets itself apart from FE in interesting way and the painterly backgrounds are really pretty. The main story itself seems a bit generic but the sides stories are all charming enough to make up for that. One thing I noticed is that the battle forecast is a bit flawed. It shows you the damage taken and inflicted by the squad as a whole, but it doesn't tell you who will suffer that damage. I had forecast tell me I'd win pretty handily and this not quite being untrue, but that I did have the nasty surprise that one squadmember was barely clinging to life after that battle. I wonder how the Open World is going to be handled on the Villain's side. On one hand it be extremely annoying if the empire invaded areas you liberated and you need to track back or fast travel half way across the map. On the other hand it be kinda weird if you're freeing the world and the Empire's just sitting on its ass not doing anything about it. FE and Triangle Strategy have the luxery of most of the world not being shown to the world and player, but in Unicorn the entire continent can be traversed through.
  13. Isn't the time limit on the demo 7 hours instead of five? Its pretty generous either way.
  14. Huh that's kinda surprising. As I see it the game couldn't have been more like Fire Emblem if it tried.
  15. Oh sure. Seliph being kinda sensitive and girly makes inheriting his mothers look a good fit. Still given he's not the only one I still think it weren't just artistic reasons but technical limitations that landed him his mom's face. I believe Azelle and Lachesis also share a face.
  16. They are but things like Sigurd's giant chin breed character. You can also see plenty of asset re-use going on. Most infamously that one mini boss with about a hundred twin brothers, but I believe Seliph literally has his mothers face.
  17. The US has a very peculiar habit of insisting things never work that are already shown to work in about every developed country out there. Its a common argument that a healthcare system will never work despite even countries far poorer than the US have one, and in this particular case you have people making the claim that gun regulations won't solve anything despite them having indeed solved everything in most other countries.
  18. Sales are a pretty convincing reason for a company. The first BOTW Warriors was among the best selling Warriors of all time. You can also argue Tears is reason to give BOTW Warriors a sequel. But people are right that a Xenoblade Warriors would be more artistically exiting.
  19. In the case of some newcommers Rosado andForrest/Ignatz/Oliver Like the earlier artists boys it just makes sense for them to converse with each other and with Oliver. Of those Forrest probably has the most potential. Rosado acted slightly unhinged in his Fogado support when the idea came up he might not be the cutest. So while Forrest and Rosado being best buddies makes sense there's also potential for Rosado to see Forrest as a rival. Rosado and Dorothy: Dorothy is plain looking and insecure, and Rosado seems the type to very loudly insist that she's cute in her own way and is fine just the way she is. Hortensia and Ross/Chad: Hortentia might conclude that for shota's they don't look all that cute and insists on ''helping'' them. This eventually makes her conversation partner really annoyed and after Hortensia apologizes they bond over having to live with deceased parents. Ivy and Ishtar: Seems really logical on all fronts. Niles and Kagetsu: Their forging bonds conversation was rather uh...interesting. Tormod and Letizia: How Letizia leads the Curse Direction is probably against everything a freedom fighter like Tormod stands for, and he'd not be shy to tell her that. Alternatively this could apply to Tormod and Veronica too. Tormod and Arvis: Tormod might have mixed feelings about a ruler who really wants to end prejudice but who's also a scheming, ruthless conqueror. Tormod and Hardin: In his backstory Hardin freed the Aurelis population from slavery so Tormod might idolize him. Hardin might not disagree with Tormod's goals but still think he needs to instill some discipline in the boy. Inigo and Louis: Louis finds Inigo just adorable but not in the way he likes. Rather than see him as someone to date Louis instead sees Inigo as a boy to baby and spoil.
  20. I've heard that argument before. That such peculiarities within the US stem from them having been founded during a rebellion against unjust government. I never found it satisfactory though because such mindset don't exist in other such countries which often had to endure far worse. The French had a period where the government went on a mass beheading spree of civilians over any imagined suspicion. The Dutch had a period of being ruled by a regime who burned people at the stake for believing in the same god in a slightly different way, and the Germans of course have the Nazi's. And not to mention the countries that had to fight off colonialism. On the whole I just don't think the British were ever bad enough to justify this weird fear of governments. Which isn't to say I believe the argument doesn't exist. Americans keep making it so of course it does. But rather than find it a valid reason I mostly think it makes the US comes as immature.
  21. You know what would be brilliant? If Hades 2 would be revealed in the partner showcase. The original Hades was a rather good fit for the Switch after all. I hope to see more of the Unicorn Overlord game. Frankly I kinda worry about it. Strategy rpg's and jrpg's might not be the same but there's strong overlap and Unicorn releasing right between FF7 and Paper Mario might hurt its sales a bit. A Warriors announcement seems pretty likely. A Xenoblade Warriors would be a very logical next step artistically but due to it being a niche jrpg not financially. Or that is what I was going to say but apparently the Xenoblades sales are about on par with the 3ds FE games which was enough to give Fire Emblem a Warriors title.
  22. I'm not quite sure what this mysterious ''twitter'' is but mostly the images detailed the Forging Bonds characters are posted on sites of Gamefaqs or Reddit pretty soon after getting posted on that mysterious twitter thing.
  23. A good chapter all around. Kind of weird that they don't bother showing Veronica's mom now her bond with her daughter is a focus. She'd be an interesting character particularly because I think she was opposed to Veronica's invasions. You'd think they would get closer once Veronica stopped being Askr's Bowser. It was also a nice showing for Sharena. IS might be very invested in the Alfonse and Veronica ship, but right now it seems Veronica and Sharena have the stronger bond. Its Sharena who's all giddy to meet Veronica, and she acts supportive when meeting her.
